  1. Good Point! - The Broken Record
  2. So what's your point? That we shouldn't pay more for different players or ones that fit our system better so that we can become a better team and win more games? How is that a bad move if we have the cap room? How is it a bad move for a small market team to become a better team, win more games, sell more tickets, and overall raise our stature in the league?
  3. Marv said in the "McGahee trade" interview on the team website that they want to bring a-train back. (Please do not read into this that I mean "as the #1 starter", kthnx)
  4. LOL, i didn't mean that as a complement to Shaud.
  5. Well, if Willis magically turns back into the college specimen and tears up the field in the next few years, then the ravens will certainly have gotten a good deal financially, as it will look pretty sweet in a couple years when decent RB's are getting paid at least twice this deal (if this deal is for real)
  6. yes, but a good oline makes an average back look good and a good back look great, whereas there's only a handful, if that, of great backs that make an average or bad oline look good or great. patience, people. marv isn't going to put shaud williams or a-train back there as the starter. i know you really really really want the answer today but it ain't gonna happen.
  7. Why would we give up multiple draft picks for Turner when we could draft a RB with one of those picks? Turner has little experience, and while he has shown great promise, he is nowhere near proven and for practical purposes is just a rookie as well.
  8. If you think about it for half a second instead of just saying "why again did we dump willis given this arbitrary list of three players that are the only possibilities to be running the football for us next year", you'll realize that it's in the best interest of building this team from the inside out with younger players who are better fits for the offensive and defensive systems that we now run. That's what draft picks can do for a team. And if you don't think that, for example, a combination 1 and 1a style RB system with a brown or dillon and a young early draft pick RB can't run for 933 yards, then..... salut, sir... especially with our new OL additions which are likely to make larger holes to run through....
  9. The deal also includes a lifetime subscription to Penthouse.
  10. yes, sorry, i just didn't want words to be put in my mouth. no worries. and yes, he could start, as in stand in the backfield on the first snap, but so could Shaud Williams imo
  11. I just said that Marv said they wanted to re-sign him; that doesn't mean "make him the starter", which anyone and their mother knows is not going to happen. He is a respectable backup and nothing more.
  12. If Marv has already done an interview on buffalobills.com about it being a done deal.... then it's a done deal.
  13. marv just said in an interview on buffalobills.com that they want to re-sign A-Train. Link is in the thread dedicated to this interview.
  14. Only things of note is that Marv said that they plan to re-sign A-Train, they like some kid who led the nfl europe league in rushing, fred jackson, to compete for a spot, shaud williams as a spot duty kind of guy, and they certainly (marv seemed to emphasize this word) haven't ruled out bringing in another RB..... you can read between those lines... Otherwise, just standard small talk.

  16. Schit, why don't we just take that thar garbage 3rd and trade if for a whole schit ton of cows. That would give us some major beef throughout the season!!! They'll problem even throw in a couple cases of A1!!!
  17. Your user name is "Nostradamus" so I guess I can't question that you can see the future....
  18. i see your point with the chart, i do. but my intuition says that two 3rd picks have a better chance of being both contributing good players than a 2nd and a 5th. obviously the second has the best chance but the jump between 3rd and 5th imo is much greater than 2nd and 3rd. throw in a seventh flyer and i think its a good deal.
  19. Yes, this is what i'm thinking now. i'd rather have two third round picks and a seventh than a 2nd and a 5th, for example, even with one of the 3rd rounders next year. and there is obviously some plan in place to fill the RB void, whether via free agency, draft, or a combo of both (which seems to be the likely case).
  20. Interesting...... i don't know what else to say at the moment.
  21. What holes do we have on defense? I don't see us addressing defense at all in the rest of the offseason. That doesn't make sense.
