Yes, I agree. At what point does "do what we say, not what we do" become even more absurd than it already is? If we routinely violate the rights of HUMAN BEINGS, how can we expect anyone else to hold themselves to the standard that we preach but don't practice? -

Why do we need the "good guy" label? It just gets in the way of the need to be constantly vigilant about how we act as a country. When one thinks of one's self as "the good guy", one can often become complacent, thinking that as "the good guy" the "bad guys" or "everyone else" must/should always fall in line, no matter what, because who in their right minds would go against "the good guys"? Unfortunately, "good guys" and "bad guys" is an almost moronic, simpleton mode of formulating the world and the people/states that inhabit it. The focus of such a schema is on one's ego sense ("I am the good guy, thus you all should do or conform to.....") rather than on vigilant action ("I do good and affirm my goodness by my next act of goodness, thereby setting an example....."). -

That's all you got, huh? Cut a little too close to the quick, did I? I enjoy you all. You entertain me. I choose to laugh where some choose to get all SUPER SERIOUS RAH RAH RAH! I find laughter to precipitate a happier and healthier me when the laughter occurs. So there it is! -

I don't care if it's entertaining for anyone else. Who are you? I have no control over whether you or anyone else finds the board entertaining. I find it entertaining. I would merely suggest that you lighten up and relax, as I think you would find this board more entertaining if you didn't take it so seriously. After all, THIS IS JUST AN INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD. But, hey, do what you want, feel like you want, whatever. Me, I will continue to find it hysterical when someone constantly posts on a message board (especially about one member) while saying out of the other side of his mouth how he doesn't find the board entertaining, because of the one member he constantly posts about! -

John, I love you. I love you almost as much as I love Molson. You both make me laugh in your own ways. Thanks for the entertainment. I actually mean that. -

If this board does not entertain you..... then why do you frequent it? why do you post on it? why do you take every chance possible to shoot Molson down? (which is entertaining to me because of how Molson responds to your much more nuanced intelligence) If it's out of boredom, then could it not be said that posting helps alleviate that boredom, hence it entertains you more than just being bored would? If it's to have a break from work, then could it not be said that posting is more entertaining at that moment than working? Me thinks you doth protest too much. If people like you stopped responding to Molson, then Molson would hardly dominate the board so much, now would he? You CHOOSE to bring Molson to the center of the board's existence by ACKNOWLEDGING, INDULGING, and RESPONDING to his posts. So, really, here's me my eyes out for all your wounded message board egos! -

So! Blatant violation of human civil liberties [i.e. Gitmo] is acceptable because: 1) It can not be said that 100% of the people who have ever been in Gitmo and/or released from Gitmo have never committed a crime of a terrorist nature after said time in Gitmo. and 2) I will sleep better at night. If you're going to advocate the blatant violation of human civil liberties, at least you have two real "slam dunk" reasons like these to fall back on when the rest of the justifications fall by the wayside. -
Shh.... cops good, Benson bad, close book. Stop bringing up elements of what happened. You might then actually find out what actually happened, and that gets in the way of a good rant, on either side of the argument.

McCain spent years in that POW camp for your free speech. And all you want to do is use it to sully his hero status. And you do it on an internet message board of all places! Have you no shame, sir? Have you no respect for what your elders have sacrificed? Mind your manners and shut your mouth. Words matter, especially words posted on the politics board of an NFL team fan website. I've already spent way too much time putting you in your place. Just straighten up, man, for the love of your country. -

I hope to sully McCain's hero status. I've decided the most effective strategy to do so is to start threads on NFL fan site message boards and let the movement grow from there. You'd be surprised how much of an effect that this board, for example, has on the national zeitgeist. That's why there are those who are so vocal about any posts that don't snap-salute McCain as hero: because posts on this message board could permanently alter and change McCain's hero status!! -

Cool, how about a photo of McCain and Thurman in three piece suits drinking earl grey on a veranda while they read internet message board threads on their wireless laptops?
