Boy, what a great reporter this guy is. First off, Ralph's age is referred to 3 times in this article- that alone is annoying. "The 86 year-old owner... 86 year-old Ralph Wilson", blah blah. Oh, by the way, it's WRONG! Ralph is 87, and will turn 88 in October. Secondly, he says that in 1998 the stadium needed more seats? Uh, the seating capacity was reduced from 80,000 to 73,000. Maybe he meant "suites," but hey, he got Ralph's age wrong 3 times, so why worry about little things like facts.

Even if it was sold out, the game would not have been shown live. The blackout rules do not apply because this is a local broadcast, not a network broadcast.

...Jim Kelly came to town to play. On August 18, 1986, Kelly signed a contract with the Bills for the outrageous sum of $8 million over 5 years. Oh yeah, the Bills signed some other USFL reject that day named Kent Hull.

Seeing that the first four games will be sold out (NE, NY, Minn, GB), that leaves the last four (SD, Jax, Miami, Tenn) to worry about. Assuming Miami sells out, which of the other three might not? My money would be the Christmas Eve game against a probably lousy Tennessee team. Anyone foresee SD or Jax games not selling out?

FYI the first season with the red helmet was 84, not 85. BTW, the Bills went 2-14 that season. The white helmet with blue charging bison was the best.

I knew if anybody would have the info on Bates, it would be you guys. What's so good about him, and would he be better than Ted Cottrell? I know you guys got all the stats on his defenses. Drop some knowledge on me. Muchas gracias.
