  1. And what does misery love?............ Company. Because they are miserable, they try to drag whoever else they can down into the same pit of misery.
  2. I am just seeing this thread for the first time. It's basically the same thing I said in a thread I created this morning about the OL, and a breakdown of what the Chiefs did, but I didn't know about the convo Veach had with Reid.
  3. God save us, everyone, will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns - The Catalyst - Nice
  4. There are facts and there are excuses. In 2020-2021 he had the 10th best OL in the league. That was an MVP caliber year. That was a year with a 69% completion percentage. That year he had 14 total turnovers. This year his OL was 23rd in the league and he was sacked 33 times in 16 games. He still put up almost 5,000 total yards and 45 TD's. He still managed to have the 2nd highest QB rating of his career. He had the 2nd most in yards per attempt in his career. All of this while playing the last half of the season with a torn ligament in his elbow. When you are running for your life on almost every play, while trying to find a guy open downfield, you are going to be prone to making more mistakes and taking hits that cause fumbles. Were some of them on him? Absolutely. There are also turnovers that were on Mahomes, on Burrow, on Herbert, on Lawrence, on every other QB in this league. But he also can't throw the ball and go catch it for himself either. He had 4 INT's that were directly off of his guys' hands or chest that so gratuitously went straight to a defender. There is also no other elite QB in this league who does more with less than Allen. I swear, these narratives that some of you people continue to push are completely dried up. But, here you stand, continuing to beat the flies out of that dead horse. Again, fix the OL and it changes the entire dynamic of the offense from top to bottom. Fix the OL and we are not on the couch for the next SB.
  5. Yes, the scheming has to be tweaked. Josh also has to take his check downs and let the game come to him. Still, the OL needs to at least give him 2-2.5 seconds back there consistently. The defense should not already be on him when he finishes his drop on half of the snaps. It's not conducive to success, nor the health of our QB long term.
  6. It has been said numerous times, by numerous posters on this site. We NEED to shell out the necessary resources to protect the QB. FA $$$, draft picks, trades, whatever we have to do to make it happen. Watching that game last night, against the most fearsome defensive front in 35 years statistically (based off the number of sacks), the Chiefs OL pretty much dominated. The Chiefs OL is the reason they won that game. Mahomes had the time he needed to do the things he needed to do. No, he didn't have big stats, but he had time to see the field and get the ball off. Pacheco and McKinnon had holes to run through. As a team, collectively, they averaged 6.1 yards per carry. They held one of the most disruptive defensive fronts to 0 sacks and 1 TFL for the entire game. The Chiefs OL was in peril a couple of seasons ago. Patrick didn't have the time he needed back there and was taking some unnecessary punishment. What did the Chiefs do? They signed Joe Thuney in FA, drafted Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith, then traded for Orlando Brown. A complete overhaul in one offseason that turned a weakness into a strength. Their RT situation still isn't the greatest, but Wylie can hold his own. This is what the Chiefs did to protect their star QB. It's clear we need a total overhaul up front. You can't throw all your chips into a guy they supposedly hope takes a step forward in Spencer Brown at RT. You can't throw all your chips into hoping Morse can make it through a season without another concussion. You can't throw all your chips into some 2nd or 3rd tier FA to play LG, hoping you get lucky. You can't throw all of your chips into a middling RG who isn't bad and has some versatility, but at the same time isn't anything more than average either. Dawkins is the only guy that should be an unquestioned starter going into 2023. Morse, maybe, but we need to have a solid backup option because of the concussion issues. A top tier OL keeps Josh from running for his life on almost every single play. It keeps him from having to run a scramble drill find an open man and then throw the ball off script. If they actually give him a pocket he can stand in, then he can process everything without hindrance for a couple of seconds, and get the ball out to someone with his feet set. I don't care how much Josh has done this effectively in the past, throwing the ball while on the move, he deserves better. If they build a top tier OL then our RB's will actually be a threat versus just being a decoy they hope keeps a defense honest. It will change the entire dynamic of this team on offense and the effects will be across the board. It may not be "sexy", it may not be exciting like bringing in another star WR, but this is what ABSOLUTELY needs to be done for Josh.
  7. There is one reason the Chiefs won this game, the OL. Their OL dominated that Eagles defensive front. Fix the OL, LEGITIMATELY FIX THE OL, and the Bills aren't on the couch next year for the SB.
  8. Kelce is such a clown
  9. She seems to be preggers again and couldn't really move but so much.
  10. Diggs needs a real Robin to him being Batman and they need to help Josh by fixing the OL. Do this and we're not sitting on the couch for the SB next year.
  11. Everywhere I see Flowers listed at 5'10", same as Downs. I see Flowers usually listed about 10lbs heavier than Downs as well, 185lbs to 175lbs. The Combine will be big for both of them, official measurements and weigh-ins. Flowers reminds me A LOT of Stef with his route running and quick feet in/out of breaks. Also, the way he sets up the DB's reminds me of Stef. I do like Downs a lot too though. I'd be hype if we got either of them. The guys like Tillman and Hutchinson? Definitely mid-late day two guys. Both would definitely play on the outside imo. Tillman is slept on imo because of the year Hyatt had and the fact he was injured this year. Go back and watch him against Georgia and Alabama in 2021. He was eating against future NFL DB's all game. He's good with the contested catches and doesn't get alligator arms when he knows a hit is coming. He's not quite as big, but watching how he moves and the way he catches the ball reminds me a lot of Brandon Marshall. Hutchinson was Iowa St.'s only option in the passing game and opposing defenses still couldn't stop him from getting the ball. He reminds me of Tyler Boyd. Talking about where guys line up now though? Most are versatile. Jefferson lines up in the Slot a lot, but he's definitely a #1 who can play anywhere. Chase? The same. You'll see Diggs lined up in the Slot on a number of occasions. It's all about matchups and creating mismatches. I'd would absolutely love to have Flowers or Downs. But if we go a different route early, DEFINITELY sign me up for Tillman and I wouldn't be mad at Hutchinson in the 3rd/4th. I still want us to make a run at Jakobi Meyers in FA too, but I don't think it happens.
  12. Cedric Tillman, Xavier Hutchinson, Jalin Hyatt, Zay Flowers can line up anywhere, Jordan Addison, Josh Downs, there are options, just not the Quinton Johnston's of the draft. If we miss out on Flowers and Downs, my targets are Tillman then Hutchinson.
  13. Seriously though, Stef isn't going anywhere until 2025 at the earliest. Unless he becomes an absolute cancer and I don't see that happening.
  14. Ehhhh, he looks to be about 250-260lbs right now. He's a big dude in general. Definitely not OT size though at this point. A lot of those guys lose a ton of weight when they quit playing. Faneca, Joe Thomas, Marshall Yanda, Will Montgomery, Eric Wood, all those guys lost 60-90lbs when they hung up the cleats.
  15. Neither of the situations bother me. Daboll deserved to be a HC imo. He showed enough to warrant that shot. I'm happy for him that he is already having the success he's seen. Takes the Giants from anonymity to the Playoffs and gets COY? That's awesome. I'm also happy for Hodgins as well. He wasn't ever going to get the playing time here that he saw with the Giants. He was behind Gabe, McBBQ, and Kumerow on the DC. He was able to hook back up with a coach who knew him, on a team where he already knew the system, and they were starving for WR's. It was the perfect landing spot. Good for both of them. I wish them continued success.
  16. I agree. I would like to see us sign someone like Jakobi Meyers in FA, along with drafting Zay Flowers in the 1st or Josh Downs in the 2nd.
  17. There have been some WR's drafted in the 5th or later since 2010 who have accomplished some things in this league. Antonio Brown, Marvin Jones, Stefon Diggs, Darren Waller was listed as a WR at Georgia Tech, Tyreke Hill, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Hunter Renfrow, Darnell Mooney, and Isaiah Hodgins (small body of work, but he did have a semi-breakout this year with NY). Of course most of the WR groups around the league are made up of guys drafted higher, but Shakir has as good a shot as any if he puts in the work. We shall see, but I do not expect him to be more productive than Davis this year.
  18. And the post of the day award goes to?.........
  19. Russ and Ciara will have to answer for Russ and Ciara. It's not my place to sit here with a robe and gavel. I will say that you could see the change in Russ after they won that first SB in 2014. Two months later Russ and his first wife split. A year later he begins dating Ciara. From that point he seems to have become more of a Prima Donna entertainer type, while becoming less and less genuine. It feels like most of what he, they together, appears to be is a sham. I mean, how many people have you ever seen practice running out of a tunnel onto an empty practice field and even taking it as far as practicing giving people five. It's a bit strange. This is just me standing on the outside looking in, and I could be completely wrong as I know neither of them personally.
  20. Betting odds are betting odds. The games are played on the field and we have an entire offseason in front of us. Fix the OL, LEGITIMATELY FIX THE OL, and we'll see what happens.
  21. Chase Young is good, but he has a Clowney-esque feel to his hype. He was a monster in college. Through 27 games in the NFL though he has a total of 75 tackles, 13 TFL's, 9 sacks, and 6 FF. That's not really elite production, though a FF every 4.5 games is being somewhat disruptive. He'd be better than any of our other options outside of Groot and Von. If there was a way to make the financials work, I wouldn't be opposed to packaging a 3rd and a 5th or something like that. Absolutely nothing more.
  22. Or when he popped back up as Chadwick Chad it was "data points"
