  1. You said JA has had weapons. Whom are these weapons you speak of outside of Diggs and Beasley (three years in total and two of those with Diggs)? Kincaid this year alone, yes, but they still didn't use him correctly for most of the year. Cook's emergence as one of the better RB's in the league this year, yes. Who are the rest of these weapons over the years? They brought back both Beasley and Brown a couple of seasons ago because they had no one. We have had multiple inconsistent players and they've gone bargain basement hunting in hopes of striking it "WR rich", but it hasn't worked out. They have failed JA in this regard, relying too much on his playmaking instead of adding another legitimate playmaker to go with Diggs. Or at least putting forth an effort like they were actually trying to. The OL has been average at best since he's been here. This year was a bit better, but JA still makes them look better than they are because of his athleticism and the fact he is hard to bring down. Dawkins and Morse have been the only above average-good starters they have had on the OL for JA's career. Bates, Feliciano (who was just too often injured), Saffold (the Pro Bowl train wreck), Darryl Williams (Jekyll & Hyde), the turnstile version of Spencer Brown (who still has trouble with speed rushers or guys with multiple moves), and let's not even talk about the rest of the guys. There have been many places they could have at least attempted to do more, but they did not. Let's just hope they continue to do the right thing this year. But with our cap situation and the losses we are looking at on defense, it could be more of the same.
  2. But you said Allen has had weapons, did you not? He's had a true number one for 4 years. Beasley was an upper echelon slot, but we only had that production for two years with Diggs and three years overall. Other than that, his "weapons" were average to below and well below compared to some other teams.
  3. Josh has had Diggs, yes. He had a couple years where Beasley was the failsafe outlet, yes. Outside of those two, who has he had? John Brown? Please. An on his last legs Emmanuel Sanders? An inconsistent Knox and Gabe Davis? Cook emerged this year, but also had some big drops in the passing games at times. They drafted Kincaid, who will only get better. Truth is Allen has been the offense mostly just because of the player he is, outside of Diggs being his #1. His OL has also been EXTREMELY suspect up until this past season where they were better, but still not KC, SF, Philly, or Dallas good. No one is saying the offense is the worst. But he doesn't have McCaffrey, Kittle, Samuel, and Aiyuk. He doesn't have Chase, Higgins, and Boyd. He doesn't have Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle. He doesn't have Devonta Smith and AJ Brown. He hasn't had some of the weapons like many of the top offenses in the league. Like I said, he does more on his own.
  4. Her name is Dana Beattie (I believe), even though they are not naming her.
  5. Glad we dodged that bullet. It would ruin Bass' game if he were the holder.
  6. Nobody: vtnatefootball11: The Dawson Knox contract thread from a year and a half ago for a LAMP
  7. Baker looked good a couple of years in Cleveland too, without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. They almost beat the Chiefs in the Playoffs. Andy Dalton on the other hand is on the tail end of a solid, but not spectacular career. I know Baker will want to maximize his value while he can, but he's still gonna have to take what he will get. No one is saying he is elite or deserves elite money. I can see someone giving him a Geno Smith type of contract. He (Geno) got paid off of a single year worth of production while having some good talent around him as well. And Geno had done absolutely nothing in his career prior to that single season. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean no one will take that chance, especially with a QB. Your feelings about Baker are probably on par with mine about JJ McCarthy from Michigan.
  8. Ran this one on PFN just now. Moved a couple of times for a couple of picks:
  9. I guess you couldn't catch on to the sarcasm in that statement On the Andy Dalton talk though, he's washed. He's nothing more than a journeyman backup at this point, I don't care who you put around him (minus that 49ers team. I think Shanahan could make any QB look serviceable). Baker is definitely a better option than him, on any team.
  10. At no point in his entire football career has Andy Dalton ever, IN HIS LIFE, woke up in the morning feeling pretty dangerous.
  11. Insanity. I don't believe it. He never once carried that team. Harbaugh's scheme actually hid him quite well. He averaged a whopping 199 yds per contest. Does that scream top 5 pick to you? Does that even scream 1st Round pick to you? Any of this chatter is probably being put out there by his agent imo. Like I said before, any team dumb enough to trade up for him deserves the misery that will follow.
  12. Any team dumb enough to trade up for McCarthy deserves the misery soon to follow.
  13. It will depend on if they feel strongly enough about one of them. At #13, and without a trade up, they'll likely be left to decide between Penix and Bo Nix if it's a QB at that spot. Thing about it is they have 6 teams in front of them who could be vying for 5 QB's, and I say 5 QB's because I don't see McCarthy as a 1st Round prospect in any way. Cousins will likely be one of those 6 teams QB in 2024. That leaves 5 teams who could very well have Williams, Maye, Daniels, Penix, and Nix all off of the board. Not highly likely, but it could shape up just like 2011 where people started reaching for QB's out of need.
  14. Agreed. Personally, I don't care where he goes. He could go to the Pats, the Jets, the Chiefs, the Dolphins, the Bengals, the Texans, whoever. I'm not worried in the slightest that Gabe Davis is going to turn into this amazing WR. He is what he is after 4 years. A guy who will be too inconsistent to be what we need, and no one I'm overly concerned about if he were to line up across from our defense.
  15. I can see the Raiders going after Baker and giving him a middle of the road contract. 2 year deal in the $60M range. Their QB is Aidan O'Connell right now. He's also better than the soon-to-be-released Garoppolo.
  16. I hate how things unfolded at the Chiefs game, fans screaming and cursing at Gabe. Absolutely ridiculous. Still, let him go get his "bag" elsewhere. Wish him the best, but this is going to be a mutual parting of ways and one I won't wish things were otherwise at any point.
  17. Condolences to all of them, their friends, and family.
  18. We have Rousseau for two more years at the least, as they certainly will pick up the 5th year option. He's been a good player against both the run and getting after the QB. He also has some positional flexibility because they can kick him inside on pass rushing downs. I don't really see any concern with that. See how the next two years play out and we can move based off of that.
  19. This is what we've all seen since day 1 when Josh stepped on a field in a Bills uni. He's always had that "it" factor, his teammates love him, and you know he's going to leave everything on the field. In most instances he walks off the field having led his team to a lead, or put them in position to take it, or at least tie (unless we're already up substantially). Those with a basic understanding of football know he's clutch if they watch him play. The 🤡's on TV can nitpick all they want, and try to claim lesser QB's are better, but the eye test doesn't lie. Josh is not the reason we're out here losing games.
  20. That's the problem, he went black market instead of getting a prescription.
  21. Lamar and the defense. For most of the time he's been there, a healthy chunk of Lamar's yards and TD's come on scramble drills. He breaks free of the pocket, people have to account for him running, and he finds the open man. He's an explosive athlete and carries their offense, it just isn't a good formula for Playoff success. Their defense has been top 3 in the league for 5 out of the 6 years Lamar has been their QB in scoring defense. Top 3. That is how Baltimore has stayed competitive.
  22. Correct you are my friend. They did lose to Cincy that following week.
  23. JA17 will get the Bills a Lombardi before any of those other guys and their respective teams get one. He is the closest talent wise to Mahomes. He has been right on the cusp with different variations of this offense, and WILL break through at some point in the near future. I don't believe in Lamar in the Playoffs. Time and time again he just doesn't get it done. He may put up some nice regular season stats, but in the Playoffs teams know and use the blueprint for stopping him. Burrow had one year where they clicked, but they are coming up on some business decisions and I don't trust their owner to keep set up for sustained success. They also just lost their OC so we'll see how they do with that. Then factor in Burrow's injury history and I don't trust it. Jordan Love, though solid this year, isn't the next in the line of Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre for GB. But the NFC is definitely top heavy so he has a chance to get there as long as they keep the defense in the top 10 scoring wise. Purdy is the perfect system for him as a QB, but his coach has flubbed 3 SB's already. Two against the same Chiefs that we have fallen victim to. As long as their defense can carry them, because that is not Brock's game, then they have a shot since they are coming from the NFC. Then on to Herbert. Justin Herbert. The same QB who couldn't do anything during the 2nd half of his only Playoff appearance, allowing the Jags to complete a historic comeback. Harbaugh or no Harbaugh. I don't care if they bring Bill Walsh back from the grave, I don't see it. He has a lot of ability, but he just doesn't have that same "it" factor you see in Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow. He also has to contend with Mahomes within his own division. He will be the franchise's new version of Phillip Rivers.
