Another Raider, OT Trent Brown, Domestic Violence Lawsuit
H2o replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be Andre Smith. I remember them basically fat-shaming him on NFL Network when he ran his 40. -
John Brown groin injury - expected to play vs Dolphins

I might go scoop Foster on a flyer in a FF league this week. I have a couple of guys on bye's and Brown is a guy I was planning on playing. -

LORAX on CBS Sports Radio, 2:20ish EST
H2o replied to Seasons1992's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lorax is another one of those guys who epitomizes the Buffalo Bills. An NFL journeyman most of his career who found his home and rejuvenation here. He's been nothing, but a class act, great leader, and solid player in his time with the Bills. -

Mariota officially benched in Tennessee
H2o replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Turns out the Bucs couldn't have gotten it right either way. Both QB's are looking like busts right now. I think Jameis will keep playing as a backup, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mariota walks away from the game after this year. -
The justice system is flawed, but I also believe the media places in the forefront what they want to place in the forefront for the purpose of division. The police do people wrong every day and it doesn't matter what color you are. I too have been subjected to such things on multiple occasions and I am white. Not going to go into detail here, but I would glady explain in a PM if you would like. With anything else you have your good and your bad as far as cops go. I have looked into his background and I've also looked into that of his gf. That is why I wonder who really orchestrated all of it. I do give him the benefit of the doubt, but it doesn't mean it erases the thought. Either way, I'm going to leave this alone now as I believe I have expressed what my thoughts are in full detail as best I can.

New Wawrow article on the DUKE
H2o replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love his attitude where he says, "I never took a day off." Even on the PS he was out there preparing himself for the Sunday that finally came. Can't help, but like and root for the guy. -
I wouldn't have a problem with him being in the NFL. Like I said, Kudos to him and his girlfriend for flipping it. I actually think she is more the brains behind it all. He has gotten more rich off of it than he likely would have playing the game itself at this point. Hopefully the intent was to actually make a difference and not just find an angle. The reason I find it a bit suspect is because he was adopted and raised by a white family, where he had a good life by all accounts and was brought up in a loving home. I'm also not saying I believe every QB on an NFL roster is better than him. They are clearly not. I also agree with your stance as to how guys like Tyreke Hill, Joe Mixon, Kareem Hunt, Michael Vick, and numerous other have or had NFL jobs after their situations. It's a double standard. The NFL is a talent based presentation though and talent trumps controversy. Teams don't feel that his talent level at this point is worth the circus that would surround it, especially for a guy who is going to be your backup more than likely (except in Miami). Another angle to look at it is from the business standpoint. The NFL owners paid him somewhere between $60,000,000-$80,000,000 in a settlement. Now he expects those same owners, any of those owners, to willfully sign him to a contract? Say you or I sued our place of employment for whatever and won a substantial case. Do you think that company is going to then welcome you back to your old position with open arms? No, definitely not. Chump change to them overall or not, you have now become a pariah. We would never be welcomed there again. This is likely the same stance by the NFL. Being able to work somewhere is a privilege, not a right, for any of us. We can't walk in somewhere and tell them they have to give us a job. They don't have to give us squat. We can call and ask around, ala he and his agent, but that doesn't mean it will happen just because we may be more qualified than some others already there.

They were calling for his head in SF before all of the extracurricular stuff started. He lost his job to Gabbert. The first week where did the camera catch him? He was just sitting on the bench, looking like he was sulking more than anything else. Somehow it was made a topic by the media. Kudos to him and his girlfriend for flipping it by the next week into something else. It grew legs and became what it has been. You want to know what type of QB he was at the end? Watch his game against the Bills. That's Kaep, only now he's a few years older. People want to throw his numbers out there, but go back and look at what point of the game he put up those TD's. They were mainly after the game was decided. A garbage TD a week when your team is losing isn't really worth much, but it has been turned into an arguing point like he was better than what he actually was. Harbaugh and Roman got every ounce they could out of him. He had a good run. The NFL figured him out. Force him to play the QB position and he wasn't going to beat you. We do agree that Chip Kelly sucked though. Terrible coach.

The Rams look to have regressed in many ways this year. Gurley's career has taken a turn ala Terrell Davis. McVay is having a harder time reading defenses for Goff. The OL is playing like crap. The defense has not been what it was last year also. It's like the team as a whole has taken a step back. Factor in that Seattle and SF have gotten better then you have a team that has to actually fight for position within their division, let alone their conference. I think they were exposed in the SB and the better teams they face are using that blueprint.

Feliz Navidad: Jon Feliciano is balling
H2o replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Said it last week that I think our best OL right now would be Dawkins-Feliciano-Morse-Ford-Bates. Mongo has been a monster. -
Yeah, we were kinda trying to get a franchise QB.
-
And they're gonna have to pay him top $$$ too. In the Rams defense they are banking on their picks being in the high 20's which they see Ramsey as being worth. They are a lot further away than one high end CB though. They better hope they can get that OL fixed in FA as well as hit on their mid-round picks the next couple years.

Wtf? This again? This horse is more beaten to death than the Mahomes one. To play in the NFL is a privilege, not a right. He already got his $60,000,000-$80,000,000 from the NFL. He isn't owed .

Rams trade CB Marcus Peters to Ravens
H2o replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure there's a board for Ravens' fan-boys. Feel free to join Jackson is not a "better version of Michael Vick" either. Does he have the potential? Maybe, but by the end of his career Vick had developed into a pretty good passer. Vick was also faster than Jackson as well as being built like a RB. Jackson is not there yet. White and Wallace are better CB's than any on the Ravens at this point in time. Johnson is also consistently better in coverage than is Peters. Peters is prone to give up the big play at any moment and unless he gets lucky jumping a route to make an INT, he's really average at best. -
Could/Should/Would Cam Newton get traded?
H2o replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you can get something for him then by all means send him packing. He hasn't been the same player since the SB loss to the Broncos and he's gotten pretty strange in that time. He seems like another one more in love with the fame than the game. Allen has shown enough to be given the reigns. If it doesn't work out it leaves you in the same spot it did with Cam, having to find another franchise QB. -
