Which further proves Daboll is an idiot.

No one is saying it's a bed of roses and I am surely not hiding behind our record. I am also not saying that Allen hasn't shown flaws. I am though however part of the crowd that thinks the OC is more of the problem than the QB. Again, there was a post by Gugny last week about Daboll not calling a game that keeps Allen in any kind of rhythm. This is spot on. How many good looking drives have we had where we march down the field, put up 7, and then Daboll never goes back to ANY OF IT for the rest of the game? How many 3rd and shorts have we had where Daboll has EVERY receiver running patterns 15 or more yards down the field? The designed QB runs he goes to the well on too often or at the most inopportune of moments? They need to incorporate the intermediate stuff because he is showing much better on that this year, but let the young man be himself. Let him run on his own, let him ad lib against the defense, let him trust himself, and let him go out and make plays. Actually call a game suited to what he's doing well and stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Seems pretty simple to me and I'm sure there are people smart enough to do just that, but Daboll isn't one of them.

Yeah, if Buffalo had given him the contract Cincy did then that would have never happened. I'm sure he'd be glad to collect one here again if we claimed him for the rest of the season.

I know the question without reading a single post from the thread. Nope.

Wow............. A new and creative way to discuss moving on from Josh Allen before the end of his 2nd year when he has shown improvement , that he is a clutch performer, and the team is 6-3. Awesome.

This is my thought on the situation as well. Our LB depth is weak and he knows the defense already. Bring him back at least for the rest of this season.

It's Miami week! That means Haiku!

What Vet Qbs and Back-Ups to Look at in Off-Season
H2o replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't say he couldn't improve. It is possible. He also does seem to work hard and is loved by his teammates. The thing I like about his situation is they are not trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. That is exactly the opposite of what they are doing with Josh here, but Josh has still improved as a passer. I understand trying to get him to cut down on the INT'S, but you have to let him be himself at the same time. Lamar has shown some improvement, but they are letting him play free. I have seen him revert back to last year's Lamar though, especially in the 6 games prior to Cincy. If they are winning then great, but running Lamar is not going to get them to the promised land. It will cost them in the playoffs. -

No, I'm really not. I have watched him a bunch of times. I live in VA and we get MANY of the Ravens games. I like watching him play, but that doesn't mean I believe it is sustainable or that he would be successful in another system elsewhere. At one point I liked watching the SF teams with Kaep and the other Harbaugh at the helm. The team (Baltimore) is still well built from top to bottom, they have an excellent coaching staff, a good group of players on offense as a whole, and Lamar is in the perfect system for him. They know what they want to do and they do it well. It doesn't mean that I have to admit he is some amazing QB when I surely don't see him that way. He is an amazing athlete though for sure. That long TD run against Cincy yesterday was a thing of beauty. His style of play will cost Baltimore when it counts, just like last year. -

Pretty sure it was discussed around here and throughout the media many upon many times over. Again, until yesterday against the Ryan Finley led 0-8 Bengals, Jackson's passing numbers have been average at best throwing the football. Look for yourself. He had 5 TD's and 5 INT's through his previous 6 games throwing the football. He is amazing running it though, I will give him that. Do you honestly believe he would be successful outside of Roman in Baltimore right now? I don't think so. This too shall pass. -
Would you trade our 1st round pick for Mike Evans?

What Vet Qbs and Back-Ups to Look at in Off-Season

Does anyone in their right mind HONESTLY BELIEVE the Bills will throw in the towel on the rawest prospect with the most upside of any of the 2018 QB's, who has shown improvement this year in many areas, and has been clutch when called upon after his 2nd season in the NFL? Really? -
It Will All Come Down to Week 17 vs the Jets

I wouldn't pencil in any of them tbh. I do think we will win the next two though. I think Dallas is a tall order with Zeke and that OL. -

The Watson and Mahomes thing is beaten to death. We all know. How many other QB needy teams missed on those two as well? It happens. I still think Jackson is a flash in a pan. Until yesterday, against a Bengals team starting Ryan Finley, he has been average at best outside of his running ability which is absolutely amazing. Do you honestly think he would be successful anywhere else right now outside of Baltimore? I don't, but I think Watson and Mahomes could be. See what Roman did with lesser athletes in Kaep and Tyrod for a time? It eventually will come crashing down in Baltimore as well. The roster turnover here has been overwhelming. There are only a handful of guys left from before McDermott and Beane got here. When you do things like this there is always going to be growing pains, especially when the leaders of your offense and defense are in their 2nd years in the league. Again, we are 6-3. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out.
-
Year one? Seeing what we had, sign a couple of FA's, removing those who didn't want to be here, and still made the playoffs. Year two? Cap strapped because of ridding ourselves of the dead weight, go get the QB of the offense, the QB of the defense, Richie blows a gasket, Wood has to retire because of a neck issue, and we are basically all in on the rebuild. Year 3? We had to fix the OL, we upgraded the WR corps, we drafted players (some of whom are making an impact already), and are basically in the 2nd year of the rebuild. This team is pretty young, they are growing together, and we are still 6-3 in spite of Daboll's play calling. Some rebuilds aren't instant gratification like that of your microwavable Hot Pocket.

Thank you for owning this one Stephen. We appreciate that.

You know how you know Lee Smith is on the field? He's getting penalized for something.
