I'd bet the house that Shurmur is done in NY. He's 7-21 as Giants HC the last two seasons. That's absolutely putrid. I don't think the Giants brass waits another year to see if he can right the ship. I don't know if Day jumps to the NFL either, but I expect the Skins to make an attempt because of his ties to Haskins, the same reason I could see them attempting to go after Meyer. There was a story at the beginning of October saying that Brian Kelly was on a few NFL teams' radar as far as their HC positions, noting that those same teams feel he is very underrated as a HC. The Redskins were mentioned as one of those teams. Urban Meyer would be an interesting hire wherever he went, but I don't know if him and a meddling Jerry Jones could coexist in Dallas. I really think that guys who will be getting HC jobs in 2020 are Roman, Richard, Saleh, and Schottenheimer. Harbaugh is bound to try the NFL again at some point after his failures at Michigan. Not sure if it will really be his own decision, but he will make it look like it was his choice. Carolina would be quite an interesting destination for him though as you stated. All he would be looking for was his type of QB and to reshape the defense. They have a bunch of weapons on offense already.

I'd move the NY Giants to "Almost certain vacancies" as Shurmur is done and Dallas to possible if they don't make the playoffs and win at least a game, if not two. I expect Robert Saleh from SF to get a lot of looks. I'd also expect Kris Richard from Dallas to get many interviews. Brian Schottenheimer is another I could see getting some serious looks. Don't be surprised if the Skins go sniffing around the college ranks for a HC. I expect them to try to interview Brian Kelly, Ryan Day, possibly Urban Meyer, and maybe even throw a bone out to see if Lincoln Reilly would be interested (whom I also expect the Cowboys to go after if they let Garrett walk). Hell, after his 5 straight losses to Ohio St., I wouldn't be surprised if Harbaugh started interviewing for NFL jobs (even though he says he is staying in Ann Arbor). After this year in Baltimore I expect Roman to get some serious looks @ HC vacancies this offseason. I hope we are able to keep Daboll for at least one more year. Honestly, I think he may get an interview or two, but I can't see a FO being ready to hand him the reigns to a team just yet. There are guys out there with more proven track records @ the OC position than him.

David Carr: Four Offenses I Don't Trust (Bills one of them)

And we care about the opinion of the guy only known as "Derek Carr's brother" because??????? -
You knew this run would come to an end at some point. Rivera has done a decent job with the Panthers. In all honesty I expect him to take a year or two off before looking to get back into the coaching ranks.

Ravens @ Bills ****Predict the score****

Buffalo 31 Baltimore 27 Josh comes up clutch once again with a late 4th Qtr drive to win the game. Bills in the playoffs, home crowd goes banaynays. -
Even with all of the running, Lamar has yet to take any really big hits this year. Let him take a couple of those in a game and it will slow him down. As good as he has been I still think if you force him into the throws outside of the numbers he doesn't have as much success. He loves to throw the ball over the middle of the field when in the pocket and a lot of his completions come from where he breaks contain to extend plays. Keep him in the pocket and close off the middle of the field as much as possible.

I can't help but feel a little bad for Kyle Williams.

Hopefully it ends just like the year after Don Mattingly retired from the Yankees. That ended in a championship. -
I want Hughes and Lawson on the field all game tbh, but Lorax is going to be a liability due to his limited athleticism imo more so than Coleman or Neal would be, against the run and trying to cover TE's. He just can't run with these guys. But if he were to make the correct read on every play, which is highly unlikely, then he could be a thumper against the run. The other guys just have more speed and overall athleticism that is going to be needed this week trying to keep up with these TE's and Ravens' ground game. Like I said, this is what I would do and not necessarily what the team is going to do.

Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?
H2o replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And now that I have watched Josh connect on a few of these, along with the steady improvement in the rest of his game, I couldn't be happier. It is funny to watch people get all bent out of shape about what they previously posted though. -

I love how people are finding these old threads and giving them a bump back to relevance. Pretty entertaining. -
Where does Brady play after this season?

Throw in JJ Watt who only had 5.5 sacks total as a rookie.

Well, there was that thing about McDermott going all Antonio Brown and whatnot a couple weeks ago.

Those dreaded non-conference wins again. I hate when we do that.

Where does Brady play after this season?
H2o replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he plays next year, and right now I think that is a big IF, I still think it's in NE. They don't really have a backup plan in place if he doesn't. I still think the most likely scenario is Tom is done allowing them to have a rough year next year and in turn ransoming their future for Lawrence. -
I don't know if this is what we do, but I believe it is what we should do. Since the Ravens are basically running a college style, option type offense we need to run a 30 Stack or 4-4 type of defense in appearance. I know McDermott and Frazier love their zone, but we will have to man up a lot more this week. Instead of a LB, we should have Neal or Coleman in the lineup at all times with another S around the box. The Ravens love to run those multiple TE sets. Having Neal or Coleman out there would give them guys with the covering ability to keep up as well as be able to stick their head in there against the run. Poyer likely needs to be the other S kept in the box on either edge or stacked just behind Edmunds. Kevin Johnson also needs to get the start with him being the better overall defender than Wallace. Murphy also should not see the field much on Sunday as it will be imperative to have containment on the edge against the run, not one of his strong suits. Lawson needs to play 80% of the snaps this week. I'm hoping for a lineup like this: Hughes, the DT rotation of Liuget/Phillips/Oliver/Star, Lawson on the DL (Lorax filling in @ DE this week for the most part) Milano, Edmunds, Neal/Coleman, Poyer on the second level White, Hyde, Johnson playing on the last line. If we can't stop the run to a certain extent then we will lose this game. The DE's are going to have to be disciplined in setting the edge. You do want to get pressure if possible, but you absolutely CANNOT lose contain on Jackson. You have to force him back inside to the guys playing on the interior and that second level who hopefully play with gap integrity this week while making necessary tackles. Ideally, you contain Jackson in the pocket and force him to beat you throwing the ball. I know he has some gaudy TD numbers overall, but his legs are still the most effective thing he has. Contain the edges, clog the middle, and force him make those reads. He loves throwing the ball in the middle of the field. Force him to make those throws outside of the hashes to the deeper intermediate area. Tre will have to be on Brown all day. Johnson's responsibility will be Snead, Boykin, whoever. Hyde will be playing center field basically. They may try to spread us out if this is effective against their run game, but I wouldn't vary much in personnel or formations outside of Taron Johnson on the field for Coleman or Neal when they go with 3 WR sets. Offensively we just have to keep doing what we have been doing for the last 3 weeks or so. Get the run game going, let Josh be Josh, and hopefully Daboll stays in attack mode for 60 minutes. This is the first time in a long time I am really pleased with the way things are going on offense. Time of possession and TO's will again play a large role this week. If we are on the winning side of both of those stats then I believe we will be on the winning side of the final score. Our WR's match up well with their DB's imo and I think Knox could have a big game as his size/athleticism presents a tough matchup for their Safeties/LB's. Watch out for the double moves against Peters. He loves to try and jump routes and I think Daboll/Josh take advantage of that. I see him getting beaten for a couple of big gains this week by Brown or Foster. That was his m.o. in LA and KC.
