  1. To me this sounds like they are going to let Spain walk more than likely. Hopefully Conklin is their target. My money is on Ford playing LG next season.
  2. Bowden could be the same exact type of player available on day 2.
  3. This. But in all honesty I don't expect us to go after the BIG names in FA. I think much of our cap will be for taking care of guys in house and signing some so called 2nd Tier FA's. I expect the draft to be where they look to add their impact players by relying on their scouting dept. in hopes of having these guys for 4 or 5 years at a more cost effective clip. Just my thoughts.
  4. Can you imagine the number of heads that would explode on here if we drafted a Division II Safety with the #22 pick?
  5. What?!?! Daboll calling some weird **s plays that end up backfiring? Never would he do something like that.
  6. I still think the Vikings have flexibility to free up $$$ outside of Diggs that makes more sense. The fact they have been quite uninhibited handing out those contracts though is finally catching up with them. They have more than a couple of bad ones, but Diggs isn't one of them tbh. Just cutting Linval Joseph and Xavier Rhodes could free up something like $18,000,000 for them I believe.
  7. Maybe a smokescreen, maybe legit, time will tell.
  8. Still would like to have seen him come in around 340lbs or so. I believe he already had concerns about his conditioning before.
  9. Mekhi Becton coming in at 364lbs is not a good look for him either imo. He screams G to me at that weight.
  10. Omar Bayless coming in at 6'3/4" is a bit of a let down as he was listed as 6'3" @ Arkansas St.
  11. The market is just going to keep increasing as with anything else. I'm fine with 5 years $70,000,000-$75,000,000 in total with $45,000,000-$50,000,000 of that being guaranteed. I just hope they get the deal done sooner rather than later as the price tag will continue to go up.
  12. Javier must be Jarvis without the dirty, crackback blocks on defenseless players.
  13. Well, he does have a stadium to build and all so.....
  14. Yes, can it possibly compare to Joe Webb's? I wish Dunkirk were here to give us his "first hand" knowledge on the situation.
  15. What do we see Bowden's position as I wonder? I see most rankings listing him @ WR, but he can run the ball as well. They could use him in MANY different ways. Hell, he would likely even be the 3rd string QB.
  16. This is just connecting the dots with Joe Brady being in Carolina now as OC. If the Bengals trade out of that #1 slot I would be absolutely shocked. Carson Palmer killed it for him.
  17. I hate those idiots and don't put ANY stock into their "numbers" so to speak. Especially their supposed "Drop %" or "Rec Grade" in general for that matter. For instance I have watched Claypool for his entirety of his ND career. During his Sophomore season he had a problem with drops, Junior year he may have had one here or there, and then Senior year it was really a non-issue whatsoever so I find it hard to believe he dropped one 1 out of every 10 catchable passes. I sure as hell didn't see it. Reagor and Hamler? Did they really drop 13% and 16.9% of their catchable targets? I find that hard to believe also. I also don't agree with their overall receiving grades they handed out to many of those guys. They have Tyler Johnson with the highest "Rec Grade" of the bunch. I don't see it. I think he is going to be a quality NFL WR, but there is no way he should be graded higher than Jeudy, Lamb, Jefferson, or possibly a host of others. Some of their grades on people also seem insanely low as well as very questionably high with others. Now the breaking down of targets and watching players via an All-22 format is awesome. It gives you much more insight into what's actually going on.
  18. There are some "journalists" who put together mock drafts for the sake of getting clicks. Then there are some who seem to actually put forth an effort into divulging into a team's needs, take on the time necessary to generally rank the college crop, and make an educated guess. It's basically a sports science fair project with a round, or multiple rounds, of hypotheses. Some guys tend to rank better than others at this. Truth is there are so many variables with how teams move around on draft days and the curve balls that get thrown in that it is damn near impossible to peg. As noted by Ed, you also have one guy making every pick. It's usually easy to peg the first 2 or 3 guys in a draft, but the number I look at are the people who end up having the most players in their mock selected in that given round. I think our own Bandit one year got like 25 players right as far them being drafted in the first round. That's an insane number when you think about it. When it comes to the smartest, most successful GM's? It boils down to taking BPA who is also best fit for your team. Certain players' talents fit better with certain systems and schemes. They, GM's, also have to be successful beyond the first round and be able to find those gems on days 2 and 3. Beane/McDermott/Our Scouting Dept. seemingly have shown a knack for that the last couple of years. It is another reason that the future is bright around here.
  19. If any player pays him anything at all that would make me question the circumstances.
  20. I see Hamler as a Desean Jackson clone almost. Jackson gets moved around all over, but he has been effective throughout his career when lined up on the outside. Just my 2.
  21. This is my thought. A guy who is consistently tweeting about his "worth" or whatever and saying he's seeking $22,000,000 per season? Yeah, not paying that for 8 sacks a season.
  22. I also don't really see Tyler Johnson and KJ Hamler strictly as slot guys. They both are solid route runners who use leverage to their advantage and track the ball very well in the air. I think they both can play on the outside for sure.
  23. Are these numbers listed on the spreadsheet that from PFF?
  24. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of either of these guys. This REALLY is as deep a WR class as I have ever seen in my memory of watching the draft.
  25. Yeah, that comparison makes no sense whatsoever.
