  1. Poyer, albeit a solid player for us since he got here, is probably not going to be offered the uptick in pay he or his thot believes he deserves. I can see them offering in the ballpark of $9,000,000-$11,000,000 per for a couple of years tacked onto his current deal, but he's not going to see anything more than that from us. I honestly believe he could be moved on a draft day trade to a team willing to give him more if they (Beane & McDermott) believe the situation is going to deteriorate.
  2. It would be like drafting Leodis all over again.
  3. Whitehead would be a quality depth signing if we could get him to come here. He is excellent against the run, but meh in pass coverage.
  4. Yeah, if he has learned how to run routes in the offseason......and track the ball in the air......and learned the playbook......and realizes his hands are to be used to catch the ball. Other than that though, he's got this.
  5. I can't believe someone beat Yolo and Reed83HOF to the punch, that is more shocking than the re-signings
  6. And be talked about constantly by the bobble-heads on TV because they are "America's Team"
  7. Some insider info trading eh?
  8. I wouldn't want to pay them that either, but it is the new age of contracts in the NFL with the ever ballooning salary cap. QB numbers are steadily going up. Cooper could easily get $15,000,000 or more from somewhere if Sammy could get $16,000,000 per as well. The fact is Dallas has spent A LOT of $$$ these last couple of seasons on Lawrence, Elliott, Smith, and their OL. This was always a problem they were going to run into.
  9. Oh, you can bet they would still have Allen in their lower 3rd of the QB rankings. Somewhere between 22-33. I can't stand those idiots.
  10. It's actually a bargain if they are going to shell out around $34,000,000 a year or more for Dak and then $15,000,000-$20,000,000 for Cooper. They won't be able to manipulate the cap hits like you could on a standard contract though.
  11. Really? Because it sure seemed like our run defense took a nosedive after he tore his ACL. Also, he was mainly in a rotation with Star @ 1-Tech. You see more interior double teams and are basically a space eater. Jordan Phillips and Ed Oliver were manning the 3-Tech. That is the place where you get most of your disruption from. This is what Harrison Phillips did in college as a penetrating DT. Pretty sure 17.0 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks require pressure to stop people behind the LOS. I also believe it's part of the reason we are interested in Reader and will wind up letting JP walk. Harry is gonna be kicked over to the 3-Tech along with Oliver.
  12. https://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-41092628-4 Not sure what the details are on a new proposal, but they're still trying.
  13. https://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-jets/post/_/id/82466/jets-paint-themselves-into-a-cornerback-can-they-buy-their-way-out Trent Williams is looking for $20,000,000 per season?
  14. I think you could argue either or
  15. They must really hate the guy to cut him, take the $12,000,000 cap hit, and only net $3,000,000 in savings overall.
  16. This situation could play out like Kirk Cousins in Washington. Kirk killed them with that FT money in DC and wound up fleecing the Vikings for $84,000,000 worth of a fully guaranteed contract. He'll have made around $125,000,000 in 5 years between the Franchise Tags in DC and his Minny $$$. Dak could do the same to Dallas until they cave to his demands or they let him walk in FA. He holds ALL of the leverage right now imo.
  17. No one knows at this point how they will use their cap. A lot of it could be used to re-sign guys coming up on the end of their deals. Dawkins, Milano, Poyer, if they really want to get a deal done with Tre, no one knows. We could be losing Spain, Phillips, Shaq, Kevin Johnson, Levi (if they don't tender him), Kurt Coleman, Maurice Alexander, Julian Stanford, Frank Gore (gone), Waddle, Spencer Long, Corey Liuget, Robert Foster (if not tendered), Isaiah McKenzie, we could surely lose more than we take on. The guys likely to get the largest contracts are the first three mentioned, but they all will likely be signed somewhere.
  18. Three things with this signing: 1. This signing does not count against the compensatory formula if we position ourselves to get any next year. 2. Despite his underwhelming years in Washington, Norman is familiar with the system and playing in said system is what led to his big payday. There will be no learning curve stepping in here and hopefully he can be as effective as he was before in Carolina. We have seen this before with Beane and McDermott, they take castoffs from other teams and they end up working out well here. 3. For everyone complaining about the signing, it was obvious whoever we played across from Tre was generally a weakness last year. Levi was getting roasted on a weekly basis, seemingly always on 3rd down, and Kevin Johnson wasn't that much better. If Norman can re-gain some of his Panthers' form the Secondary just got an upgrade. In all I don't think this rules out us re-signing a guy like Johnson if the price is right in FA. I also don't think this rules out us drafting a CB in the first two days if a guy they like falls to us at a position they feel is a good value. We'll see how our FA shakes out, but I'm starting to get the feeling they will address the defensive side of the ball in FA and use their draft capital to maneuver around to get the guys they really want.
  19. Isn't what he used to be? He's only 25 years old. Does he have some kind of debilitating physical condition we are not aware of?
  20. He smashed Poyer's wife (supposedly). He also said he didn't want to come here. I don't think they'd sign him at the vet minimum at this point.
  21. Josh Allen will throw for almost 4000yds, 30+ TD's, and be in the NFL MVP conversation next year.
