Jags unlikely to allow Yannick Ngakoue to test FA
H2o replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yannick is trying to borrow the Brinks truck from Jalen for a minute https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28742566/2020-nfl-franchise-tag-candidates-predictions-21-teams-use-free-agency#JAX -
I still see him as a WR and think he can be a really good one, but he could play that hybrid-Aaron Hernandez (God I hate to even mention that name) type of TE position. I have no doubt he is going to perform well in the drills in Indy. Watch his 40 time still be between 4.5-4.55 when he runs.

I like Poyer as well. He and Hyde were two key FA signings that started the McDermott era. Poyer is set to be a FA in 2021 just before his 30th birthday. Hyde will be a FA in 2022 at 31. I don't know if we will be throwing around a contract to them that they might receive on the open market elsewhere. Beane/McDermott may see fit to extend their current deals and give them an uptick in pay, but the S market is ballooning as well. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they take a S in the first two days whom they see fit to replace Poyer if the plan is to allow him to test FA in 2021. Whether that be Antoine Winfield Jr., Kyle Dugger, Grant Delpit, Xavier McKinney, Ashtyn Davis, or Terrell Burgess idk. I don't know whom they see fitting or where. I just wouldn't be surprised if we take one the first two days somewhere. -
To me it seems like a down QB year. You have the clear-cut #1 overall QB in Burrow, but then after that are a lot of question marks. Tua could be great, a Russell Wilson type of QB, but how will he hold up physically? Herbert has the size and all of the athletic ability you look for in a QB, but he had many problems with consistency in games and struggled mightily against the blitz. After that the talent level drops off by a wide margin imo and the rest of the QB's are just products of the hype-machine.

He was the QB I thought should have stayed in school, but I get why he chose to enter the draft. It's a down QB year and he wanted to take his chances now. He reminds me of a slightly shorter version of Landry Jones and I don't expect him to be anything more than a career backup.

This is my thought as well. Don't be surprised if we take a S somewhere in the first two days of the draft come April as I expect us to be looking ahead to a Poyer FA. -
Awesome. I am looking forward to Thursday and the following few days after. Thanks for keeping us in the loop as always Yolo.

Comp picks should only be viable and handed out to teams who experience a .500 or worse Win-Loss record the following year. Teams like the Pats*** getting 3 or 4 extra mid-round picks per year because they refuse to pay a FA is stupid. It always has been.

I don't know about the strangest, but this commercial creeped me out. Made me think about implanted microchips and all that.

I read a detailed story about it not long after it happened. I can't remember where the article was, but I do remember that it was Courtney Love who supposedly orchestrated it. Only God knows. Kurt was a heroin addict, with a lot of personal issues going on, so the suicide label was an easy one to pin.

Once Fury ruptured Wilder's ear drum it was a wrap. Congrats to Tyson though, he came in ready to fight and with a perfect gameplan. He's just too big and his arms are too long for anyone in the division right now. Joshua will be next with his glass jaw.

I can live with letting Spain walk, moving Ford to LG, and addressing RT in FA. I want Lawson back because he's turned into a solid all-around player. Phillips, if he's here he's here. If he's not we can get by fine. He's not that great against the run.

Greg Robinson Doing His Best Nate Newton Impression

Nate Newton got busted with 213lbs and then, while he was out on bond for the first charge, got busted transporting another 175lbs about 6 weeks later (like they're not going to be watching like a hawk while you're out on bond ). Sheer stupidity. -
See San Francisco. They have Brieda, Coleman, and Mostert. We could maybe sign a Kenyan Drake in FA and draft AJ Dillon. Our RB's would be set for 3 or 4 years at least.
-
There are numerous RB's in this draft that we could snag anywhere from rounds 2-5 I believe. I still want AJ Dillon out of the bunch though and he will likely be able to be had on day 3 unless he runs an insane 40 time. He has pretty nimble feet for a big guy, can run people over, throw them off, bounce through pretty much any arm tackle, and has breakaway speed when he hits the open field. He would be a power back, but not just that per say.

One "drought era" Bill on today's roster?
H2o replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would go with Takeo Spikes out of the list of choices. He, Edmunds, and Milano on the field together would be sick. -
Someone will give him $15,000,000 on a one year deal at least is my thought on the situation, yes. He's still a good player and edge rushers tend to get a bit of a markup. It's not like he is coming off of a major injury or anything like that either. We were just having a discussion the other day about sacks not telling the whole story. Griffin had 8 sacks last year in 15 games, but also had 13 hurries and 13 QB knockdowns. They give him credit for 35 pressures in total. He's still an effective player and someone will pay him more than he was about to get in Minnesota I believe. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/defense_advanced.htm

WTH? CBS with worst mock yet.. Off the EDGE
H2o replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way in Hades Rivera and Co. pass on Chase Young, just not gonna happen. And the Dolphins will not try to get to #2 for Tua. The Lions don't want a QB with their first pick. -
