No fans? NYS has apparently released guidelines
H2o replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How is this going to work with the pre-snap huddle, social distancing? Seriously though, without fans, how is this going to work for play calling? Is every player going to be given a receiver in their helmet so they all directly receive the initial play call from the OC? -
He's comparing Taylor to JA by numbers alone. Any of us Bills fans who have watched the both of them for an extended period of time know the differences that lie outside of just numbers. Like Tyrod being captain check-down which inflates his completion percentage. Josh takes more shots, looking for larger chunks of yardage than did Taylor. We know about Tyrod not being anywhere as close to clutch as has been Josh. Josh can simply make throws that Tyrod couldn't make if his life depended on it. Tyrod had more agility than Josh and made some crazy plays avoiding tackles, but Josh is 5" taller and about 35lbs heavier than Tyrod so he doesn't go down as easy when hit. I would also like to see the percentage of drops during Tyrod being at the helm versus Josh as well if we are going by numbers. Either way, a lot of what he says is true. There is a reason to be both optimistic and pessimistic because of the things Josh has done on the field at certain points. But if you look at his first year compared to his 2nd year, then you see a ton of growth and maturation. We made the right choice in going all in on Allen over sticking with Tyrod.

I think he ends up at home, eating a bag of his favorite gummy snacks, working on more crappy music. -

COVID-19 took the heat off Belichek & Kraft

Roger: Bill, you have to let the dog make the next three picks and we'll call it even. Belichick: Done. -
And I totally respect this as well my friend. I, myself, am still being smart about things. I have a 12 and 14 year old I go home to every day. I wash my hands, have never been a close talker so I always keep distance anyway, and I have tried to avoid my older family members whom I may feel are more susceptible in this time. I'm glad your son is well also. It's very scary, situations like that. I understand your point about the facilities though, the bathrooms, concessions, and such. Thank you for the well written and thought out responses.

And I can totally respect your response. On my end, I won't be getting a vaccine. I've never even had a flu shot in all of my years. The only time my children ever got one was when they were 5 & 3 because of my ex-wife. They both got the flu within a month, my 3 year old's turned into a viral pneumonia, and he almost died. PICU for 4 days at a local hospital. They won't be getting the vaccine either. I miss sports somewhat, as they were a form of escape, but I don't need them for as much as I would like to watch them. My point in all of this is this may be exactly like the flu. It may pop up every single year, shot or no shot. The flu shot doesn't even protect those who decide to get one every year. What if the vaccine doesn't work and what exactly are they putting into this vaccine? It may never end. The answer may also be herd immunity. Just like when they start out in school, little kids seem to be catching something all of the time. As they get older it slows down. Why? Because they have caught many of these viruses going around already and their body has adapted to them. Maybe that's the true answer to all of this? Who knows? I just know that neither you, nor I, nor everyone else in this world can survive in a plastic bubble. There is no such thing as never ending handouts. At some point you have to take your chances or watch this whole place turn into one, big anarchist free-for-all. In this regard I am not talking about sports, I'm talking about making it in life in general.

For all of the people going on about this, how many times have you been sick, went to the doctor, and the response you get from them is, "You have a virus and it will just have to run it's course" as the result of your visit? Who honestly knows what the heck most of us have contracted over the years? Out of the 9,273,773 who've contracted it there have been 477,807 deaths. That is death rate for the infected of 5.1%. That is with 40% of those deaths coming from nursing homes and assisted living facilities, even with the numbers being skewed all over. This lines more up with a flu like situation due the age range of the typically more critical cases. To compare letting people go out in public to that of drunk driving is completely dumb. This is the first time in the history of man the world has been shut down by a virus as such. Fear for your lives, don't interact with people, wear a mask, you're selfish for wanting to go about a normal life, you could be the reason someone dies, you can't be in the hospital with a sick loved one, if said loved one dies you can't have a proper funeral where everyone gets to pay their respects, businesses need to be shut down, people's livelihoods destroyed, but this is all necessary, right? Seems legit. At the same time "peaceful protests" and gatherings of thousands in the street standing shoulder to shoulder screaming like a bunch of idiots is alright though. You can't open that business, but it's alright for people to run around burning businesses to the ground. You can't have a proper funeral for your loved one who died of cancer, alone, because the doctors wouldn't let his family be by his side, but we can have a huge gathering that is nationally televised for the funeral of some. Normal people, yes, you law abiding citizens, shouldn't be going out to hang in groups larger than X amount of people, but it's cool if you take over X amount of blocks in a city and have thousands all hang around each other because it a "love fest" for the summer of 2020. If you can't see through all of this I can't help you. Is the Coronavirus real? Absolutely. I know people who've had it. Some had no idea they had it, while others were actually sick. Sars, Mers, H1N1, Ebola, Malaria, Influenza, and a host of others are all real as well. People have died from those all over the world. None of these have ever shut the world down so to speak. We went from flatten the curve, to we need a cure for everything to go back to normal. Riiiiight. Things can't be the same until we have worldwide vaccination. Riiiiiight. You need to have some kind of mark or carry papers that prove you have been vaccinated. Riiiiiight. We're going to install this Covid-19 tracker app on your phones, and not tell you about it when we do it, but use it so we can track every person's whereabouts who is stupid enough to activate it. Seems normal, right? Like I said before, I love football and the Bills. The more this drags though, and with all of the rest of this stuff going on, the less and less I care about any kind of sports in general. If people want to go to games then so be it. If you want to walk around with a measuring tape making sure people are exactly 6ft away while wearing a cloth mask, which actually protects you from nothing, then so be it. To each their own, but don't try to demonize others by acting like what you have chosen to believe should be gospel for everyone.
-
If anything, I think they should let the fans themselves decide. Offer a waiver of liability and let in as many as want to come. Don't allow any kind of fan, player interactions like we see so often, but let them choose for themselves whether they want to be there.

Does the NFL have a bubble plan? Covid rising
H2o replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has anyone seen where one of these athletes has really struggled with the virus? All I have seen is so-and-so tested positive and then they are basically Covid free after a few days. It was the same with Sean Payton. He said in a couple of days or so he was back to normal. I know it affects everyone different, but I haven't seen where any of these athletes have been knocked down by it. -
Bills troll Steelers' first voice tweet
H2o replied to AmishRifle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely, because both teams had playoff aspirations that were on the line. It was a game with more build up and pressure than Dallas was at the time. We were coming down the stretch, jockeying for position, and coming off of a tough loss to the Ravens. We lose that game and we may not have gotten in. -

We beat them, Duck, and the refs that game. Quite a few phantom holds on us, no calls on them, and outright crap penalties, especially in the last 3 minutes of that game. They were handed EVERY opportunity to tie that game up and the defense shut them down. -
I was happy as could by when the Jets hired Gase. I knew that he would waste at least 2 years of Darnold's career in NY, if not more, and possibly ruin the entire thing. I was also happy when they hired Gregg because I know at some point his ego and Gase's coupled together will cause the same reaction as a Mento dropped in a Coke bottle. This season is definitely getting off on the "good foot" so to speak.

The must be something they did for "Pride Month"?
-
Peyton Manning made that guy rich, a supposed hot commodity, and helped him land two HC gigs basically. Look at Tannehill after he got away from Gase. He's not a top 5 QB or anything like that, but it was night and from Miami to Tennessee.
-
The Jets will continue to be this swamp of misery as long as Gase remains the coach. They have disrespected their players at every turn and it cost them this year in FA. All of the big names they chased chose to sign elsewhere. They got left with mainly 2nd tier and 3rd tier FA's, outside of Pierre Desir who is actually a solid player. The fines, the handling of medical issues, throwing people under the bus, trying to trade their star players last year at the trade deadline, they are about as poorly run an organization can be. Joe Douglas did put together a decent draft imo, but Gase is still the coach of those players. I hope they keep him around because it's beautiful to watch the misery, but I'd be surprised if he's not chasing a floating taco out the door after this season.

I honestly think Duke ends up being cut as the two WR's we drafted (Davis/Hodgins) are younger, signed for the long term, can fill the same role, and have upside. Foster may likely be sent packing as well. I think a trade of a player or two along the OL is more likely than just an outright cut, similar to what we did with Bodine last year. On the defensive side it's hard to say. Norman was great in this scheme in Carolina, not so much in Man responsibilities in Washington. EJ Gaines was really good in this defense in 2017, but has a long list of injuries over his career and can't seem to stay healthy. Wallace seemed to get burnt on a regular basis last season, especially on 3rd downs. It's hard to say because you know our staff loves "their guys", but in this instance they are all "their guys" in one way or another. Dimarco is a waste of space so I wouldn't mind seeing him go as well, but he and Murphy are two of McD's faves as well as Lee "Back it up 5 yards" Smith.
