Giants sign Devonta Freeman with Barkley out
H2o replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meh, Freeman looked washed up after Shanahan left. Or maybe it was Shanahan who made Freeman? Every RB that steps into his offensive scheme produces. -
The Draft Network breakdown of Josh Allen deep ball in 2020
H2o replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The throw that absolutely epitomizes his growth is the long throw down the right sideline to Diggs. Last video of the bunch. His pre-snap read is Man with a Safety over top. He snaps the ball, looks immediately to the left like he's going through a couple of reads, snaps back to the right, and fires a ball out for Diggs as soon as the Safety slides towards the middle of the field. He is not only reading the defense, but he is manipulating defenders with his eyes now.- 21 replies

.............. Well, you know what that means.

The switch to Brandon Staley, who learned under Fangio in Denver and Chicago, seems to have injected some life into that defense. In their first two games they have held the opposing teams under 20 points. It's the same scheme Denver was running for the Peyton Manning years. The fact that they are keeping Goff clean on drop backs is also helping the offense as he is off to a hot start. This is why I said in my original post that getting pressure on Goff, especially from the interior, is the key to the game. He starts seeing ghosts if you bang him around in the pocket. McVay is one of the most intelligent coaches in the NFL though and he will surely attack our weak LB group if we are without Edmunds/Milano once again. Higbee is every bit as talented a Gesicki, who just ate us alive last week. Gerald Everett has been known to turn in the occasional as well. The prospects of Levi Wallace trying to hang with either Kupp or Woods also doesn't seem that ideal. The Rams tend to play with more pace than either the Jets or the Dolphins so I worry about our guys getting gassed again, only this time facing a more talented overall group. I'm not saying we are going to get blown out because I believe our offense can score points this year, but I am not at the point where I am overly confident thinking that we are just going to handle everyone on the schedule. We have a much tougher road in 2020 and this is the first big test. With a healthy Edmunds and Milano I do believe we win by 10. Without them I believe in the best case scenario it will be a nail biter that hopefully Josh can go Captain Clutch again to pull off for us somehow.

Not expecting to see Edmunds or Milano this week
H2o replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. This is McDermott's style. Remember last year in the ensuing week after Josh was knocked out against the Pats? Some of us thought they would hold him out a week. Others thought he would play as soon as he cleared protocol. He cleared and he played. If Edmunds and Milano can get in some practice work, and McDermott likes what he sees, then you can bet your **s they will be on the field this Sunday. -
No, it's not 2018. This is however a team a little over a year removed from being in the SB that we are facing. It will be the best defense we have faced thus far and the best offense from top to bottom. They also have the arguably the best player in the NFL on their DL who will be lining up across from Spain and one of the 5 best CB's in the league. Don't sleep on Micah Kiser either, their starting ILB. I have confidence that our team can put up points this year and hang in a shootout, but I'm also not overconfident to think that we have arrived just yet. Higbee, Kupp, Woods, Jefferson, and whatever RB they throw out there are the best we will have faced thus far. It could make for a really long day on defense without our two starting LB's who fly all over the field making plays.

But the same clowns were anointing Lamar Jackson "King" when he threw for 325 and 5 TD's during week 1 last year against the Dolphins. I just laugh at all of these donkeys at this point. It's quite obvious what many of the varying motivations are for each of the individuals involved, but it doesn't matter either way.

Josh wins Week 2 Angry Run Award on GMFB
H2o replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh's was so bad that they blew the whistle on the play after he slammed Van Noy. It was like a ref jumping in to stop a UFC fight. Pretty sure Josh remembers this little statement from Van Noy as well. https://www.masslive.com/patriots/2019/09/kyle-van-noy-on-bills-qb-josh-allen-he-didnt-know-what-we-were-doing.html Who looked "shook" on Sunday after they got planted on their back, chump?- 51 replies

He has a whopping total of 21 receptions for 162 yards and 1 TD in 12 games played since joining the Raiders. I'd say to get a 5th back was a quality swap.

Kinda like he did Van Noy yesterday? That one was so bad they blew the whistle like a ref stopping the fight. -
Torn pectoral. See my post above yours.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/21/anthony-barr-out-for-year-with-torn-pectoral/ Barr done for the year with a torn pectoral. All of these things happening to them after they traded away Stefon. The team falling apart, injuries to key players, SD thriving in the B-Lo getting more receiving yards in one week than their entire team? I wonder if their fans will start talking about the "Diggs Curse" like we used to talk about the "Flutie Curse"?

If we have no Edmunds and no Milano this game then I don't see it ending well for us. We NEED our young, athletic LB's out there. I am hoping that McDermott held them out this last game more as precautionary by giving them the ability to rest up for a week prior to the Rams game. The matchup of Aaron Donald vs Spain also makes me extremely nervous. The key for us in this game will be whether or not we can get interior pressure on Goff. If Ed O, Harry, Butler, and Jefferson can push the pocket or disrupt from the middle then Goff will not be that effective. The pressure from the middle will force him to move right into our defensive ends crashing from the outside. Goff is also the type who starts seeing ghosts once he takes a few hits so we need to get to him early and often. The problem with that is they have only given up 2 sacks in 2 games. Hopefully Frazier and McD can find a way to create pressure with just our front 4 because they have a lot of weapons at the skill positions which will need to be accounted for. I believe our offense can put up points with them, I just hope it doesn't come to that. I would much rather see the defense get back to form and our offense maintain what they've been doing, as well as find a way to get the running game going.

New England Is Still The Team To Beat in AFC East (For Now)
H2o replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cam is finally healthy. Belichick is still Belichick. Even with all of the opt outs this year they still have a good team. Until we beat them during the regular season and actually win the division then they are the team to beat. -

Was just watching a video on ESPN where Keyshawn and some other guy were already talking about the Jets taking Lawrence #1 overall.

Daboll's lack of designed runs for Allen this week...

They'll blame Allen's entire dismantling of the Miami Secondary on Byron Jones getting hurt. -

I Know It's Only Week 2, But Look At The League Leaders(WK4 Update)

I saw this gem from yesterday this morning. Diggs had more receiving yards yesterday than the entire Vikings team. Seller's remorse? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/20/stefon-diggs-had-more-receiving-yards-than-the-vikings-whole-team-today/
