Does Isaiah Hodgins have the frame to put on weight?
H2o replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He can gain weight, but he doesn't necessarily need to. -
Who has the most dangerous defense in the AFC? GMFB
H2o replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our defense is just, simply put, good. They play together well as a unit and trust the system. Hughes gets pressure, but he's not going to scare opposing offenses. Oliver has a real chance to be a difference maker, but we have to see what kind of step forward he takes. Having Harry back will help. We added some really quality pieces in Richardson and Addison. We drafted Epenesa. Our #2 CB position is still up in the air, but we know what we have in Tre, Poyer, and Hyde. Are we dangerous? Possibly, but we are good from top to bottom. We are a dangerous team when you combine our defense with our offense though. -
What would be the absolute best season you could hope for?
H2o replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Patriots suck, but win enough to keep them out of the 1st draft pick convo. Everyone follows our model of defense against the Ravens and they dramatically fall back to earth. We beat the Texans in our 1st playoff game in our house in over 2 decades (a little sweet revenge), then at least make it to the AFC Title game. The best possible outcome of course is our team hoisting the Lombardi next February and I hope it comes at the expense of Tom Brady's Bucs. -
The Bills' suddenly deadly WR corps
H2o replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, it's on Josh now. Heck, it was on Josh last year and he showed good improvement with just Brown, Beasley, and Knox(who had many a game changing drop) added to the group. Now we've added a legit WR in Diggs and two rookies with solid potential in Davis/Hodgins. If Josh takes the same step forward from year 2 to 3 as he did from 1 to 2 then this offense is going to be hard to handle. Couple that with a good already, but seemingly improved defense, and we have a legit contender on our hands. -

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy on Jake Fromm
H2o replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think within the next couple of years Fromm will take over for Barkley. He's a smart young man and will pick up the the offense. His arm strength is on par with or better than Barkley's as well. At the same time I don't believe that Josh needs to be looking over his shoulder at all. The only way Fromm gets thrust into starting is if Allen gets injured or completely regresses to year one Josh, the former more likely than the latter. It was a good value pick for the Bills in the 5th. Fromm faced the toughest competition in the nation playing in the SEC and held his own. -
Any Bills Cut candidates with trade value?
H2o replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And you're probably right. I just don't think it will be any guys like Murphy or Nsekhe whom everyone else is talking about. -
Any Bills Cut candidates with trade value?
H2o replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It could happen with the aforementioned people in this thread, but I think our team is all in on this year and we have really nice depth at key positions. Only if guys who hold value are made expendable by the play of others will this happen. I expect both Hodgins and Davis to make the roster so you have Duke, Foster, and McKenzie fighting it out for more than likely one roster spot. If a trade is to happen I would expect it to come from there. They like Murphy and he is in the final year of his deal. Nsekhe provided valuable depth and you need that on your OL so he is gonna stay. I think they stand pat this year and attempt to slip some of the younger guys on the PS. Or you could see the Vosean Joseph effect again with a couple of the players they really like being placed on IR due to injury. -
Can our #2 WR consistently beat one on one coverage
H2o replied to Old Coot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ahhhhh yes, the good ole Bob Woods thread -
Atari? 19 years ago? We, as a people, were already on the PS2 by then.

Carruci: Bills not pursuing Cam Newton

Definitely Belichick's ego. For God's sake he let the dog draft for him. The guy truly feels he can win with anyone.

The gig is up, so much for Beane being a wizard.

Well, he(Dunleavy) does look like a tw*t. He is also a Jersey boy who covered the Giants. Should be no surprise.

The Pats have Stidham and Hoyer at QB. They have one really good OL'man. Michel looked pedestrian last year. They have no real threats on the outside. PEDelman is a year older and without Tommy Boy. They have two rookies they are going to depend on at TE. They still have Gilmore, but lost a lot of pieces on defense and the guys they did keep are a year further into their 30's. The reign is over. Now onto Flores. Did you see how he turned that team around last year in the 2nd half of the season with the limited talent on that roster? Those guys bought in and play for him like our team does for McDermott. I like the guy and think he will be a former Pats coach that endures sustained success. Adding Chan as OC, the pieces they did in FA, then the draft they had is only going to continue to build on that. If Tua turns out to be who I think he will, a lefty version of Russell Wilson, and stays healthy then they are really going to be knocking at the door in a couple of years. Once they build that chemistry then they will be right there with us. If I am not mistaken they also have 2 more 1st Round picks next year. The Jets do not have a talent edge on anyone in the AFC East really. Aside from the fact Gase is their coach, a guy whom the players do not really respect or trust, Darnold hasn't proven anything yet and Gase hasn't shown that he can actually develop a QB. Bell is another year older and an underachiever whom they tried to move last year. Mosely is a good player, but can he shake the injuries? Jamal Adams, the legit best player on their defense whom they also tried to trade, does he really want to be there? Yeah, they picked up Desir, but name another CB they have that is actually worth anything. They have Crowder at WR, no TE worth worrying about, a project they drafted in Mims, a suspect OL even still, will have to overpay for FA's because of how they have treated their own be it injured or otherwise, and they handed out some really stupid contracts. They are the epitome of a 7-9 team or worse, especially as long as they have Gase at the helm which is why I hope they keep him and waste 3 more years or so of Darnold's career.

I'm on the opposite end of that thought process. I think Miami has had a good offseason via FA and the draft. I like their coach, Flores. I like a Chan Gailey offense in place with the pieces they have. I honestly think we are heading back towards how it was in the late 80's through mid 90's of battling it out with the Phins for the AFC East.

Jameis Winston signing 1-year deal with Saints
H2o replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a good move by Winston. If anyone can mentor and help him grow as a QB it is Drew Brees. -
Factor in that we got Diggs with out 1st Round pick and it's easily an A. Getting Epenesa at #54 was something I never expected and I think he will be productive in this defense even though he will likely never get you more than 10 sacks in a season. Moss is a banger out of the backfield, who has hands to go with it, and can block. Davis and Hodgins are both big targets for Josh. Davis is the is the vertical threat and Hodgins is the guy who will shake you to get open in the redzone quickly. Fromm is a good pickup in the place we got him. He's never going to be a superstar, but he is smart and protects the football. He will supplant Barkley as Josh's backup within the next year. The kicker we drafted has some serious leg strength, but we'll have to see how he holds up in the wind at the Ralph. I know nothing to speak on about Dane Jackson or any of our UDFA's, but the team clearly got better on Friday and Saturday.
