  1. Yeah, his guys didn't do him any favors for sure. Andrews dropped a sure TD as well as a couple other passes. Boyle had a bad drop. Snead had a bad drop. The game as a whole though still is in line with the blueprint to beat a Jackson led team right now. Until he shows he can beat people from the pocket when they keep him contained, this will be the gameplan of those who have a good enough defense to execute it. I suspect they will have some real trouble on their hands this year just winning the division alone now that Pittsburgh has Ben Ro back.
  2. Remember when he juked Milano out of his jock strap last year in that game?
  3. And the RB's they have fit perfectly as well. I know Ingram gets most of the focus and they have Dobbins now, but I would love to have Edwards lining up in our backfield. That dude is beast to bring down out there.
  4. I understand what you are getting at, and I do agree with you to an extent, but sometimes he is going to have to realize you can't make a play every time the ball is in your hands. Some times you just have to live to fight another down, especially in the playoffs because that's when the stakes are the highest. He has been fantastic at bailing himself out thus far by making big play after big play, but it's also a testament to the guys we have in place around him stepping up as well. I've been all in on Allen since I first saw him step onto the field, saw the presence he had out there, and the energy he brought to this team as a whole. His growth that we have all witnessed at the QB position has been nothing short of amazing. Now it's just the little things that can put him right beside Mahomes in that convo for being the best QB in the league imo.
  5. Aaron Donald is a a game wrecker for opposing offenses. He will break through your OL, no matter who you have in front of him, and abuse your QB right in front of you. Thankfully we have a QB with solid awareness and great escape ability in the pocket.
  6. Uhhhh, NE last year? That definitely wasn't in the pocket. Run out of bounds. Slide. Every time I have seen him do it he gets the ole "atta boy Josh" from me. It saves punishment and it also keeps the defense from being able to strip the ball. Throwing the ball away when the opportunity presents itself also keeps him from taking those horrible sacks at times or hanging the ball up for grabs. He is doing better with both, but there are still times that make you hold your breath out there.
  7. Yep, still a thing if you actually watch him play. I know I've watched him play and he has been very, VERY, fortunate at times.
  8. I was watching Mahomes last night and you see the things he does that separates him from Allen. When he runs he doesn't take hits. He slides or he gets out of bounds. When a play is busted he will throw the ball away and live to fight another down. A lot of the throws Allen is making this year is just like Mahomes, but he needs to preserve himself by not taking the hits when he can and throw the ball away when necessary because it's not the end of the world. This will be the next step in the maturation of Allen. On Lamar? He will be a QB in Baltimore for as long as his body holds up and as long as Roman is the OC. He will put up gaudy numbers at times. The fact of the matter remains the same, make him beat you with his arm by having to stay contained and forcing him to throw outside the numbers. He can't right now. Let him run and get some yards on the ground. It's not going to beat the good teams. Pressure him and force him to make quick reads while stepping up into the pocket. He can't beat you that way right now. Keep him from scrambling to his right because that's where most of his improvisational throws come from. We did a good job of containing him last year outside of the one busted coverage where Hurst got the TD. The Titans forced him to try to comeback using his arm and he faltered. The Chiefs last night followed a similar blueprint. Even with all of that, I still see Lamar and Josh as head and shoulders above the rest as the top 2 QB's from that draft class. They are definitely the two most exciting as well.
  9. Joe and Evan are always good for some solid commentary, Jets fans or not. One of the most entertaining duos out there. Rich Eisen calls it like it is as well about the Jets. I said it from the beginning that Gase was an absolutely horrible hire for the Jets, but I was ecstatic about it because I knew this would be the end result. I knew that he would waste whatever time he was given with Sam Darnold and that he would possibly ruin him as a QB. All of the draftniks and media personalities talked up Darnold like he was Andrew Luck, but I watched him play a lot during that Junior season and I saw the same guy we see now. He's always struggled under pressure and he's always seen ghosts in the pocket. Did he have talent? Absolutely and he can excel is you give him 4 or 5 seconds to throw the ball like they did his first two years at USC. Pretty much any QB can find an open man if given that much time, but the NFL doesn't work that way and the speed of the game is a lot faster than it was in college. Right now, when I watch Darnold play, I see a QB who doesn't process info well, doesn't trust himself, doesn't trust the players around him, and has sketchy mechanics at best.
  10. The blueprint to beat Lamar is pressure him where he has to step up, make him try to read the defense quickly, and see if he can beat you with his arm. He may get a few rushing yards, but outside of that he's mainly ineffective to this point in his career when this happens. Where he kills you is on play action if the running game is working or if you lose contain and he can scramble to his right. The Chiefs were forcing him to step up last night and he couldn't get it going. When he has to come forward in the pocket his eyes tend to be on everything going on around him and not down field.
  11. And we have head to head matchups this year against where Josh is up against Wilson, Mahomes, Cam twice, and Ben Ro. Our schedule is not for the faint of heart and Josh will be on the big stage many times this year with the chance to show everyone what we have seen through the first 3 weeks.
  12. Over 1,000 yds passing in 3 games, 1/3 of his 2019 total. 10 TD passes in 3 games, almost half of his 2019 total. Shouldn't even have a pick on his resume. Beat a REALLY good Rams team this past weekend pulling out the Captain Clutch cape again, after people incessantly whine how we can't beat winning teams. But still, even still, the closet Nancy's are lurking.
  13. Lamar doesn't suck, but he's not a comeback type of QB who will go out and win you a game with his arm. If that running game isn't clicking they're screwed. It's not clicking tonight.
  14. So much for all of the MNF pregame crew picking Baltimore.
  15. This is the first time I've watched an ESPN broadcast this year. Riddick is a massive upgrade on commentary.
  16. The Chiefs are begging Lamar to beat them reading a defense quickly and getting the ball out. To this point, he can't do it.
  17. You know what I say to all of the bobble-heads, whiners, and clowns in the so called sports media? 3-0 , 3-0. I'll leave this here again.
  18. I agree totally. They could have had any number of WR's, a TE like Kmet, any number of defensive players, any number of OL'man, and they took a project QB. It was stupid by the organization and it was a kick in the gonads of Rodgers.
  19. Yeah, I'm not saying he's a great option by any means. I do believe he is whom the Eagles should have kept because he just seemed to click there with that team and with Pederson as a HC. I don't know what the heck happened to Wentz. Maybe he's a product of the talent around him? Or maybe this is just who he is? Either way, that contract has left Philly with serious buyer's remorse.
  20. Indeed he is a journeyman. A journeyman who has played his best football in that type of offensive system. It's still better than what Wentz is at this point and obviously better than another underachiever in Trubisky whom has found a seat on the bench now due to Foles as well.
  21. Surprises: 1. Darryl Williams @ RT. He is what we were missing last year on the OL. 2. Tyler Kroft. The young man is a solid TE when healthy. 3. Stefon Diggs. I knew he was a good WR, but he is truly a guy who elevates everyone else around him. So much for the "Diva" label. Disappointments: 1. Where is Jerry Hughes? 2. The defense as a whole, yardage and scoring wise. 3. Moss. For all of the hype in camp he looks pretty ineffective out there except in Pass Pro.
  22. A QB who won the SB MVP in that offensive system and was a dropped pass away from moving on to the NFC Championship in the playoffs the following year? Absolutely. Oh, and did you see who saved the game yesterday in relief of Trubisky's subpar effort, in a similar offensive system to that of Philadelphia's?
