Cam Newton, NFL MVP. Does any team want him 2021?
H2o replied to Nihilarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because if you ever watched Pennington play you would know he made up for his lack of arm strength with his ability to read a defense then get the ball out with timing. He did complete 66% of his passes for his career despite having a noodle arm, especially after the shoulder surgeries. Cam has relied on his legs most of his career and you could tell that the mental aspect was giving him some trouble in NE. His shoulder injury has changed his abilities. When your body starts breaking down then it is your wits that carry you on. I have never seen Cam be one to dissect a defense. -

Cam is washed up. His arm looks done. Imo he has become Chad Pennington without the brains. -

Singletary is on a rookie deal. Although I have mentioned Felton in previous posts and think he would be an excellent fit in the offense, Singletary is not a guy you cut for cap savings when he has talent and is on a rookie contract.

We're already more than $8M over the projected cap and would have to create more holes just to sign one guy in return. It's not worth it. He's not "the missing link" to our SB aspirations. -

There are 4 guys who intrigue me with their speed and athleticism. Rondale Moore is definitely one of them. The other three are below: Javian Hawkins Another Louisville player in Tutu Atwell And then you have Demetric Felton from UCLA who has spent extensive time at both RB and WR. -
The Chiefs Defense Used Four Big Safeties To Get To The Super Bowl

You're absolutely right. I forgot he had left for the Rams as head coach in '09. I was thinking it was after the 2nd SB victory. -

Since Watson wants out of Houston, could Watt be far behind?

My money is on him going to New Orleans to play for some Mardi Gras beads and a bowl of gumbo. -

Watt has a $17.5M cap hit, with no dead cap if they release or trade, and he is in the last year of his deal this coming season. I'd say he's as good as gone. -

IMO SF is the best place for Watson if he wants to win now. Shanahan is one of the best offensive minds in the league and he'd be falling into a bunch of weapons with Kittle, Samuel, and Aiyuk. They also have a solid RB stable. Then you can throw in the top 5 defense they will have again when everyone comes back healthy. -

Wait until they trade Watt too. There will be a million fan march when they get rid of both Watson and JJ after trading Nuk last year. -

Here's another I did this morning on the PFN draft simulator. They have trades that are proposed automatically which is pretty cool. 30. Teven Jenkins OT Oklahoma State 61. The Chiefs Defense Used Four Big Safeties To Get To The Super Bowl
H2o replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only reason they could do this is because we don't have an effective running game. They don't have to respect it. They played to stop the pass, our three main guys were all hobbled to some extent, and it was a flawless move by Spagnuolo. Lets not forget that he was the DC for those Giants teams that stopped Tom Brady in two SB's. One of those was the #3 scoring offense of all time, calling a game that held them to 14 pts. He's an excellent DC. Always has been. We just need to be more balanced so that people have to account for everything and know that they can't stop us if they eliminate one aspect.
