Not Sure We Will Repeat as AFCE Champs
H2o replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills had the 5th toughest strength of schedule in 2020 and went 13-3 with one of those losses being on a fluke Hail Mary. The next closest Playoff team in terms of SOS? The Rams @ #10. We bring back basically everyone except Brown (whose position we upgraded), some journeyman depth OL personnel, a Punter, a KR/PR, and some lack luster guys on the DL. The rest of the NFL has changes due to cap situations. BB's spending spree doesn't scare me for 3 reasons. One, Tom Brady isn't walking through that door. Two, I've watched multiple teams try to buy a championship and I can't recall one time where it actually worked. Three, who even knows how all of these players will fit together in those offensive/defensive systems. It could end up being a resounding thud. The Jets are still the Jets. Who do they have to develop Darnold? Their OL is still suspect outside of Becton. Their defense will surely be improved under Saleh, but nothing about them scares me at the moment when in direct comparison with Buffalo. The Dolphins don't have Fitz to win 8 of their 10 games for them this year. Their is no "relief pitcher" in the bullpen. It's all on Tua and his arm was looking all noodle last year. I think the hip injury has affected him being able to drive the football. I also don't see how they have really improved overall. The draft is still yet to come for all of us so we'll see then. But if we can stay relatively healthy again this year, especially Josh, then I like our chances. -
And we still have Hodgins whom I'm sure is working his tail off to fit into this equation somehow.

Chris Simms on 2021 draft Receivers: Dyami Brown #3 Prospect
H2o replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching Brown the way he runs his routes, shields defenders with his body, and the way he catches the ball I see Stefon Diggs. -
There's your KR/PR for this year folks, as well as WR depth.

Anybody up for Rondale Moore in Buffalo?

That's crazy bro. -
Bills have Iowa WR prospect Ihmir Smith-Marsette ranked high??
H2o replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, he's got an Antonio Brown type of feel to his game. The way he runs his routes and the way he catches the football. Just hopefully not the head case AB is. -
I've seen him a handful of times and he was always solid in coverage. His game film is pretty good. The fact that he ran a 4.42 at 6'1" and basically 200lbs while turning in a 6.70 3-cone is wow to me. I didn't realize he was that fast. Him opposite Tre, while being able to learn from our Secondary group, would be rock solid imo.

Brandon Beane at FSU and Bama pro days

Paging @GunnerBill @MAJBobby -
Adebo is an interesting CB prospect who battled some injuries while at Stanford. I think he'd fit well in this defense and could be had in the 3rd according to projections(not sure with these numbers now). Look at his Pro Day results below. CB Paulson Adebo Height: 6'1″ (86th percentile) Weight: 198 (73rd) Arm: 31 1/2 (58th) Vertical: 37 (57th) Broad: 121 (39th) Bench: 18 reps (85th) 40-yard: 4.42 (75th) Short shuttle: 4.09 (77th) 3-cone: 6.70 (90th) https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2021-nfl-draft-pro-day-schedule-pro-day-results-tracker

Micah Parsons potential drop in draft
H2o replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, this is just me, I think someone is attempting to cost him $$$ and make him drop. You'll find these stories on a yearly basis about a player or two. I'm sure our Staff/FO will do their due diligence. If he is there at #30? First off, I would be shocked. Second, I hope that we turn in the card with his name on it. -

Brandon Beane at FSU and Bama pro days

James was faster coming out of college, the better blitzer of the two, and probably a little more fluid. Hamsah isn't going to run a 4.47 40yd dash, but he still has good speed at the position. As far as what you would draft them to do on defense I believe it is VERY similar. They both have an excellent closing burst, can neutralize TE's, cover RB's, play that in-the-box role, and take good angles when going after ball carriers. I think he would fit well into this defense and could be had in the late 2nd to late 3rd Round range. I think he'd thrive being here with guys like Poyer, Hyde, Tre, and Milano to take him under their wings as well as the coaching staff to teach him the nuances of the game. -
Brandon Beane at FSU and Bama pro days

The FSU defense is loaded with top recruits, but they mainly underachieved. That's been the case since Jimbo walked out the door in December of 2017. They've been terrible at developing the talent they have recruited. I don't give every guy on the team a pass, but I see all of these guys flash at different points and it makes me wonder if a big reason is coaching. Whether that be scheming to a player's talents, as in putting them in a position to succeed making the most of their natural abilities, or just play calling in general. -

Hamsah has some positional versatility as well. He's 6'4" and between 215-220lbs. He can run with anyone, cover, and really seems to love contact. That could be an answer to covering these big, faster than LB TE's. I also like Divine Deablo from VT for the same reasons, only he comes in at about 230lbs. From FSU I think Robinson, Hamsah, Wilson, Samuel, Kaindoh, and Terry are the guys getting mainly evaluated by our staff. -
Many of us are happy with Beane, but there are still those who find something to complain about or dangle it as a reason he "sucks" or "should be fired". Norman, Jefferson, and Murphy are all gone. Addison and Butler restructured their deals. None of that can "bite us" now. The cap situation sucked this year due to Covid. We kept our own and added a couple of pieces, one an upgrade at WR. In doing so we have at least kept continuity while other teams have made many changes, teams considered to be in the upper echelon of the AFC. We were just in the AFC Championship game. It's not really that dire. NE went on a spending spree, but they still don't have a QB and spending $$$ on high priced FA's is rarely a recipe for success. The draft is still to come as well.

I don't see him on this, but I'm not sure how accurate the list is. I remember seeing somewhere that we had met with RB Kylin Hill of Miss. St., but no mention of him on here either. https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2021/03/2021-nfl-draft-bills-prospect-meeting-tracker.html

This breakdown is just another example of how special Josh really is imo. Some of these throws he makes with ease are throws only a couple other people in this league can make. That seam route to Kumerow? The only other guys who have the arm to make that throw are Rodgers and Mahomes. The flat-footed, angled pass to Beasley in the flat? Only a couple other guys in this league. The arm strength Josh has is unbelievable and it allows him to do the things we saw this past season. The improvement in his accuracy makes him a threat no matter how small the window seems to be. The REALLY scary thing in all of this for the rest of the NFL? Josh is still growing. Having him now makes the 20 years we were looking for a Franchise QB all seem worth it.

He'll get paid more than we can afford somewhere else.

Dolphins trade for OT Isaiah Wilson [Edit: now cut him]

Some people just aren't built for success. Whether it be they can't let go of their old ways, or "friends", or habits, or their brains aren't built to manage a lot of money, seen it happen many times.
