Yeah, I'm good with just one or two to give the defense something else to think about. I just don't want to see Daboll calling it more than that. I really don't think he will because Josh is a legit superstar now and we have a plethora of offensive weapons. -

He had blockers last year too and got absolutely lit up on a power sweep where two guys just completely let the Safety slip past them. I think Josh is better with improv and the designed runs aren't necessary at this point. Maybe one or two just to keep the defense off balance, but there is no need to run him 6, 8, 10 times like years past. It would be foolish to do so. -

Darius Leonard and DeForrest Buckner would make me shy away from that. If he runs on a broken play here or there, fine. I don't want to see any power sweeps or QB draw plays unless there is absolutely no one in the middle of the defense at the snap. He's already had a shoulder injury this year and the last thing we need is unnecessary risks in the 1st Round. -

If they play Man then Josh is going to have a huge day slinging the rock. It will be 350+ and 4 TD's or more. -

Do you want to meet Brady in Super Bowl?

No. I want him to suffer a miserable defeat, in his worst playoff performance ever, against the WFT this weekend.- 76 replies

Foot on the gas. Hoping for 3 home game W's and then a Lombardi in Tampa.

I mean, what can you do against this team? I mean REALLY, what can you do against this team? The Colts aren't a high-octane offense. They're not going to be able to score with us. The topic was what's your game plan. This is their only hope, along with hoping they can string together four 6 minute+ drives that all end in TD's.
-
Offensively, control the clock. The less time the Bills are on the field the less of a chance they have to score. Running game, short passing game, mix it together well and try to inch down the field on some sustained drives that end in points. Ride Jonathan Taylor like a broke-back mule and hit Hynes on as many dumpoffs as possible. Defensively, pressure. It's the only hope you have. Dial up different blitzes all game long. Hope somehow you can get to Allen or force some turnovers. If you sit back in a zone Allen is going to pick you apart all game long.

If we go 13-3, winning our last 6 in a row, 9 of our last 10 games, and then get ousted in the first round the season is a failure. Yes, the regular season was fun, but the post season is where history and legends are made. Honestly, I think anything outside of the AFC Championship game would be a huge disappointment. In my mind this team is better positioned to win a SB than any of the 90's teams. It is yet to be determined if we have an A list of HOF talent on these rosters, but this is the closest team in terms of a team mentality I have ever seen in Buffalo. They play for each other, they play for the fans, they play for the city of Buffalo, and there is a vibe with this team that I can't remember ever feeling before with any other. They went from trying to figure out who they were to showing the league this is who we are. They went from trying to find ways to win to imposing their will on the opposition. They are never satisfied. There is one goal and that's a Lombardi for them. You see it, you can hear it in their voice, and you can tell by the way they carry themselves. Won, not done. Bring it home for all of us. LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!!

The KC game he stepped up against a top tier team. I'll give him that one. That one throw they keep showing highlights of to Gesicki was a fluke play though. The ball was deflected by the DB and kudos to Gesicki for hanging onto it. He did show good poise in that game. Arizona, even though they beat us, really faded down the stretch though. I don't really count that one for much. If they didn't have Fitz they are at best an 8-8 squad. In Alabama he had elite college RB's, elite WR's, an elite OL, and an elite defense backing him up. His little statement about he thought the NFL would be harder really came back to bite him. To me he just doesn't look special. I, personally, think the hip injury has affected him throwing the football. Maybe he gets better over time, maybe it has caused mechanical flaws, or maybe this is just who he is? I do think you are right about the offensive system that best suits him. Maybe in the end he can at least be an Alex Smith type or a Chad Pennington, but the game will have to slow down for him a lot so he can make more anticipatory throws.

The thing that I see with Tua, from watching him this versus his time at Alabama, is a difference in his arm strength. I know they say he's 100% healed from the hip injury, but I wonder if it hasn't affected his ability to drive the football? His mechanics in many instances have looked horrid this year as well. Maybe he just has some technical flaws he has to work out? Or maybe he really is a different QB after the injury? Whatever it is, I don't get that vibe that he has that "it" factor which goes into a Franchise QB. When Josh stepped on the field as a rookie, flaws and all, you could see the energy he brought to the team as a whole. The vibe was completely different. You saw flashes of greatness even in the midst of the learning curve. I don't get that feel or really see that with Tua.

Fins Heaven is a hilarious read if you have the time

I just read through the 8 pages of it and laughed at more than a few posts. We too have been on the end of those kinds of beatdowns. Mainly against the Pats and Tom Brady. They couldn't stop our starters in the first half and couldn't stop the 2nd/3rd string in the 2nd half. What are we supposed to do? Call the Jills out of retirement and tell them to suit up? -

Taylor straight trucked those guys. Can't be mad at that. -
Daboll's concepts are fantastic, but this also accentuates Josh's growth as a QB. He recognizes all of these things now, both pre and post snap and understands what to do in nearly every situation. The game is slowing down for him. The maturation, combined with his work ethic, combined with Josh's commitment to getting better at his craft, combined with the scheming of Daboll, and combined with the weapons he has it has all come together almost perfectly this year.
