Yes, an I have seen things like this in my line of work as well. We have roughly 150 employees for a maintenance contractor onsite who do various things. If a layoff were to take place it would unfold as such. Two guys doing the same job, making the same $$$, with the same attendance record, and the General Foreman has to lay someone off. If one of the two suffered a personal injury that resulted in an OSHA recordable accident then they will layoff that individual. You can't really prove that's why, but everyone knows that was the deciding factor.

Like I said in a previous thread, I don't think our RB depth chart is as bad as many make it out to be. I think we have a solid group and there will be some real competition in camp this year. Having an actual TC/Preseason to evaluate will also be helpful for all involved as well. Someone is going to end up being the odd man out and it won't be for lack of ability.

And as you described, such is life in the field you chose. It tends to be different for medical professionals than any other field. I see this in the same light as a flu shot. I've never had one in my 44 years of existence. I don't need it. I don't want it. It's not required by anyone I've ever worked for. My kids only received it one time because my ex-wife let them get it at the Pediatrician's office when they went in for a regular check up. Within a couple of weeks they both had the flu. With my youngest who was 3 at the time his turned from the flu to RSV, then from RSV into a viral pneumonia. He ended up in the PICU for 4 days. He almost died. They said if he hadn't been transferred to the hospital we ended up at, from the one trying to discharge him where we took him in to be seen, that within 24 hours he would have been on a ventilator. It was the worst sickness he has endured in his life and he's 13 now. We've also had the flu itself go through the house 3 or so times, but it never turned into anything remotely near that. No flu shots for them since then. The ever widening gap between the Recovery vs Death rates with the rona reinforce my thoughts on it. Back when all of this was getting moving in April of last year the death rate for the infected was at 20.40%. Now, with millions more cases to go off of, that has dropped all the way down to 2.36%. The recovery rate gains a 100th of a % point every couple of days it seems. Hardly worthy of a national mandate to take a jab. And if they try? I will deal with that when it happens. I've already told my employer if that happens I will no longer be there. There's a reason that only 30-35% of the people have lined up to get it. It's not for lack of availability. There's a reason that doses are having to be tossed due to expiration as the desire to get it slows down. There's a reason that places like Florida and Texas are thriving. There's a reason you're seeing a lot of people migrating to those two states at this point. Regardless of how many of you view the vaccine on this board, there are many who don't share your stance. Just like many on here, in this small circle, don't share mine. You don't have to agree with me and I can respect you being on the other side. It really has no relevance to where I stand though. Hard to say. When I watch him he reminds me of Eli Manning with a lesser arm. He gets spotty with his accuracy the further the ball travels into the intermediate levels of the field. His WR's bailed him out a lot from what I saw. I think he has backup potential, but he won't be a long term starter.

Agreed. I think they are preparing for life after Watson. Mills was a reach of a pick. I fully expect them to be sitting close to the top of the draft order next year and taking a QB.

Bottom line, for all of our AFC East opponents, it will come down to QB play. Having Josh Allen, I like our chances. Regardless of the excuses they make for Cam, the pattern of deterioration in his game has been ongoing for 3 years or so now. I don't know if Mac Jones can put them back over the top, but I believe he can be a game manager for them as was Cassell. Is that enough? We'll have to wait and see.

Not really. They just usually have designated areas where they can smoke, are allotted certain breaks to smoke, or they may not even be able to smoke while at work in some instances. They don't lose their jobs on a whim because the company they work for tells them they have to quit and they refuse.

I understand what Beane is getting at as well, sort of, but the message it sends is "either you do this or it may cost you your way of making a living" which in my opinion is discrimination. It's trying to manipulate a person to do something they may not do otherwise and takes away the "choice" aspect of it in all of this. I want my team to win too. I've been hoping for a Lombardi for 30+ years now. At the same time, I cannot agree with this stance. If they choose , on their own, to get it then good for them. If they choose, on their own, not to get it good for them. In no way should they be pressured to feel obligated out of fear for their livelihoods. Yes, Josh played well against Seattle, but he was also sacked 7 times that game. If we can get the running game going then Josh is going to take a lot less punishment, but still likely put up similar numbers due to the defense not being able to key in on any one aspect of our game.

We all saw Josh put up some amazing numbers last year. Yards, TD's, low turnover ratio, 2nd in MVP voting, and he broke all kinds of Bills records. There is no denying the young man's growth. I found this article from an interview with Ravens newly signed OT Alejandro Villanueva very interesting though. He talks about how important it is to at least have balance for the OL between the running and passing game. Last year Josh was sacked a total of 38 times, including the playoffs, but he was hit a hell of a lot more. We all remember Feliciano clapping on the field when we ran the ball a couple of times in a row and had some nice gains. The big guys love that stuff, being able to maul people moving forward instead of always trying to hold your ground upright. Yes we were 13-3. Yes we made it to the AFC Championship game. It was a great season. But if we are going to get where we want, hoisting a Lombardi, I believe we need a bit more balance. If we can get our big guys going, and keep defenses guessing, then it will just open up things for Josh that much more. He will also get hit less. Our RB's only accounted for 81 yds per game on the ground, between all of them. Singletary and Moss were #37 and #43 last year in the NFL in yards per game. If we can get this ground game going then I think we take that next step, with that next step being Super Bowl.

In all honesty I don't know where he will lay his weary head to rest, but I don't think it will be here. He's barely averaged over 3 ypc since his rookie season in 2018. My guess, and this is just a guess, he ends up in Atlanta.

It's not really a traditional 4-3, it's more of a hybrid Cover 3 type of defense. The OLB's will line up on the edges in many instances. I think he will benefit more because he'll have more one-on-one's.

To be fair, Aaron Rodgers has always been a bit of an arrogant a**hole within that organization. I understand his gripes as of late though. This also seemed to go to a whole new level when they brought in Matt LaFleur. They, by all accounts, didn't really hit it off early. Maybe it was Rodgers being a d*** or maybe it was a clash of egos? I have no idea. Then in the deepest WR class this millennium they chose not draft a WR to help their face of the franchise star QB, but instead trade up for a project QB in the 1st Round. Then in the 2nd Round they follow it up with another RB, though I really liked AJ Dillon as a prospect, when they already had Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. They could of had any of Tee Higgins, Pittman Jr, Claypool, Shenault, KJ Hamler, Van Jefferson, Mims, Gabe Davis, Duvernay, Bryan Edwards, Tyler Johnson, Darnell Mooney, any WR you can think of taken 26 or later they had an opportunity at them all. So Rodgers lines up at practice every day and suits up for every game with his 2nd, 3rd, 4th options being Valdez-Scantling, Eq St. Brown, and Alan Lazard. He still wins an MVP and carries the team to the NFC Championship game. Then his coach chooses to kick a FG late, instead of sack-up to go for it, and it ends up as one of the deciding factors in the loss. Then, again, in the 2021 draft they take a head-scratcher at CB with their 1st, an OL'man in the 2nd, and then WR (finally) in the 3rd. Analysts are all saying, "Oh, Aaron will be happy with this pick." I think Aaron truly gives 0 f**** at this point and wants out regardless. I don't think the $$$ will be the determining factor either. His net worth is $120M. I'm sure the Jeopardy gig would be quite lucrative for him. He would still be able to do his endorsement thing as well. Don't be surprised if he doesn't show up in July or if he shows up strictly on a Marshawn Lynch basis, "I'm just here so I won't get fined."
