  1. Worse. I just went and looked and found that I thinking of Fuller's tackle on McSorley on the drive that ended in a field goal in the 4th quarter [shrugging emoji]. I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. When was Booker's tackle? I'm watching here https://youtu.be/dminKvaMy8M EDIT: I see the Booker tackle (not in the above highlight video) with about 13:10 left in the 4th. Speaking of the unusual effort shown by the DL, here is Sam Hubbard tackling the QB and RB at the same time:
  2. He almost spun into huge scoring play, but Baker made one of the tackles of the season just before Barkley took off.
  3. I was trying to avoid saying "trap game." There were so many mistakes in the PSU game that the OSU coaches will have no problem making this a painful week of practice despite the big win last week. Fingers crossed.
  4. I'm still recovering and hope the team is able to refocus this week. Weird things happen at Iowa every now and again.
  5. This was my reaction, too. An NFL stadium has to be one of the worst places to be with a concussion.
  6. Not sure about ND's chances to run the table, but if they do I agree they probably get in. It has been mentioned every year since the CFP began that the committee takes into account factors such as likely TV ratings and travelling fanbases. Nobody would ever admit it, but if you look at the choices over the past few years it's tough to dispute.
  7. A little adult humor on a Saturday night - kind of gross but I like the effort! Shady's racking up miles, and I do believe this kid is a great weapon and will do well in the NFL.
  8. That had to be the ugliest performance at home I've ever seen from the Buckeyes. Special teams, penalties, fumbles everywhere... they couldn't even cover a pooch kick! It's embarrassing that by the end of the game Urban had to concede that Ohio State can't kick off like a normal team. And yet after all that, it was JT who delivered under the skeptical eyes of Buckeye Nation. I can't really find the words for how much that means to those of us who closely follow this program. Lots of haters eating lots of crow tonight.
  9. See, in a huge game against a top defense, you'd like your RB to do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qek6NOP4FTU
  10. Redemption for Barrett. What a journey for that young man. Credit where credit is due: PSU is a great first quarter team!
  11. Better wide receiver? Barkley. Better ST threat? Not sure. Never saw EZE on KR duty. Better RB? Undecided. EZE ran hard and well against some top, top defenses. Last I checked, Barkley is an RB. So for now, take it easy. I already said yes to trading Shady to get him.
  12. Lol - exactly. OSU winning the trenches on both sides of the ball, and also somehow getting absolutely worked. Brutal.
  13. Well, I've been sitting around all week waiting for the game to start - pretty much useless at work. The time has come to see if the Buckeyes have made enough progress since Oklahoma to win a big game. Urban noted in his pressers all week that PSU brings max pressure 40% of the time, and since bringing heavy pressure is the book on Barret anyway, I'd expect to see at least that much tomorrow. Going all the way back to the 2014 VT game and the "bear" defense that has been copied with great effect ever since by all top-end Ds they have played, Urban believes the only way to beat it is over the top. We'll see if they can get it right this time. I'm worried about that (obviously), pass protection, kick coverage, and the pass defense. I'm optimistic about the DL winning in the trenches, as well as Dobbins and Campbell making plays. Reading Buckeye Twitter all week, apparently PSU fans are already complaining about the officiating crew assigned to the game. They are also concerned that the Ohio State grounds crew will try to take away PSU's speed advantage by not covering the field sufficiently during the rain projected for tomorrow morning. Got to love the B1G generally and PSU fans in particular. Also, the best news of the week is that it looks like it will not be raining during the game after all! Buckle up - should be a tough one.
  14. Hopefully, we'll find out in about 24 hours.
  15. Barkley is the type of player who should be judged by total yards from scrimmage, not only rushing stats. His numbers make him look like a Marshall Falk type of weapon. In fairness to Zeke, Barkley has nothing to complain about in terms of carries. PSU runs with him, throws to him, lets him return kickoffs... hell, he even took a snap out of the wildcat last week and scored. If Ohio State had featured Zeke anywhere near as prominently in 2015 I highly doubt he would have complained that one time (which of course everyone agreed with under the circumstances).
  16. There are also rumblings in Chicago about the Bears going after Harbaugh. I don't see how the Bears or the Colts could persuade him to leave a $9MM/yr job at his alma mater though, and I don't think Michigan will fire him in the near term even if he continues to take losses to his rivals.
  17. I just hope the offense doesn't revert to designed QB runs all day. Let'r rip and see what happens.
  18. Whatever the bucks have, it will be brought. Meanwhile, good to see The Best Damn Band In The Land drop a script Ohio at New Era Field today. Go Bucks!
  19. Agreed. Most fans have been begging for more throws to the TE since... Ricky Dudley? As the competition gets tougher and the WRs don't have as much space as they have been getting for the past several games, I hope Wilson continues to go to the TE to loosen things up rather than recoil into the mode of "JT to the right, JT to the left, JT up the middle." I'm also happy with the way the WRs are coming into their own. Victor, Dixon and Mack look good out there. McLaurin finally made a signature play on a nice deep ball. But how about sneaky KJ Hill? There were two plays against Nebraska where he sat in traffic while the defense got cleared out, and then he popped up in space and JT hit him in stride. That showed a knack for timing his routes with the rest of the offense and some chemistry with JT. I sure hope to see that trend continue. I think the games since the Oklahoma debacle have gone about as well as we had hoped they would. The entire offense--not just JT--looks to have made big strides. The bye week comes at a good time for the many guys dinged up. I am super fired up for the stretch run. "Championship November" begins in October this year!
  20. I just heard that he pulled a no-show for his weekly radio show with no advance notice. The Detriot press is complaining that the guy is a $9M/yr QB guru, with a $1M/yr offensive coordinator, as well as a $1M/yr QB specialist, yet he can't get the offense moving or take the heat following a tough loss.
  21. It says volumes about Nick that the OSU press is openly wondering if he is even better than Joey. Glad to see the rotation at DL tighten up as the season moves on and certain players distinguish themselves. We're seeing it at WR, too. I'm worried about the situation at guard; maybe not so much for this week, but certainly for Penn St. the following week and the tough games ahead. The last thing JT needs is deteriorating protection as he and the receivers improve. Also, the need for inside protection will likely keep Weber on the field to pick up blocking assignments in situations when they might prefer to have Dobbins out there at RB. Regardless, Ohio State is revving the engine. Beat Nebraska and then let's see what a difference six weeks can make for this team.
  22. Bring in Stevie Johnson... for his Wall of Fame ceremony!
  23. I like Stevie as much as anyone, but the Bills needed to part ways with him after the killer drops in crucial moments. There can't be a culture change with that kind of tendency.
