  1. Maybe Ohio Tate will make a run at it.
  2. This is usually a good indicator.
  3. Nobody here has lionized Urban. The guy is an all-time head coach, but he is also definitely compromised. It makes him similar to most other coaches at that level, but company does not make it okay. He convinced Jevan Snead to come to Florida by promising not to recruit another QB; and then when Tebow showed up on campus Urban told Snead that he recruited Tebow as an LB not a QB. That’s shady. When Mike Weber was about to commit to either OSU or Michigan, Urban purposefully didn’t tell Weber that the OSU RB coach who recruited him was on his way out. It worked out fine in the end, but yeah that was shady too. Keeping Zach Smith on staff when everyone knew he was a scumbag was also a huge miss (one that everyone saw in real time) - that was unquestionably out of loyalty for Coach Bruce and not because “he put the winning football games above everything else;” we know that because Smith was a poor position coach with a unit that consistently underperformed. Smith should have been fired sooner than he was for several reasons. But the narrative that Meyer covered up the actions of a serial domestic abuser is completely unsupported and pure bulls**t. If you believe a lowlife muckraker like McMurphy over the finding of several police investigations and the purported victim’s mother, well, then I’d suggest that you have a hatred for Urban that occupies significant real estate in your head. The guy has a cyst on his brain. It was operated on unsuccessfully. Docs are telling him he can either have another brain operation or reduce stress by stepping away from the HC position at OSU — and they strongly recommend the latter. It’s incredible that any human would mock and ridicule someone in that spot.
  4. These guys must not watch games.
  5. It’s incredible to me to see so many people mock a guy with a brain issue.
  6. Same. It has truly been a golden era for the Buckeyes. 7-0!!
  7. I agree - he said at the press conference yesterday that the reasons for his retirement are "cumulative" and include the off-field issues. He wants to coach and, if physically able in a year or two, will likely resurface somewhere.
  8. How about his favorite leaders that he loved to gush over: John Simon, Chris Bryant, Zach Boren, JT, Evan Spencer.
  9. This is critical. Tress and Urban grew up with the rivalry hardwired in them so they instinctively elevated The Game above everything else. One of my first reactions this morning was whether Day would see it the same way.
  10. AD when Gene retires?
  11. Pray for Washington.
  12. Please keep coach Mick. Please keep Johnson. Please keep Wilson. Coach Stud? A month ago I would have said definitely not. Now I’m not so sure.
  13. Same. I’m bummed out but not angry about the playoffs. The disrespect for Haskins has me worked up though. His stats are better than anyone’s. He played better defenses. He was consistent. He played his best in rivalry and championship games. He had the best season of any QB in 125 years of OSU football and broke a ton of B1G records. If this isn’t a Heisman resume then I don’t know what is.
  14. Murray is electric, but man - Haskins could end up with 5000 yards and 50 TDs against a legit schedule.
  15. I’d love to have Campbell in a Tarik Cohen role.
  16. ???‍♂️
  17. Over the course of the season I first expected to see two thousand-yard rushers, and then I figured there would be none. Dobbins ending up with 1,000 yards shows how the offense found balance down the stretch.
  18. In 2014 OSU took a home loss to a Va. Tech team that ended up 6-6 just like the 2018 Purdue team. Still made the playoffs and we all saw what happened.
  19. 2015 too. I was actually fine with being left out last year because JT wasn’t going anywhere in the playoffs. This team can win though so for the first time a rose bowl would be a disappointment for me.
  20. Hell yeah. I want to see how far this Dwayne Train can go while we have him.
  21. I agree with pretty much all of this - except I think Bama goes to the playoffs even if they lose because at that point they’ll have the best win (LSU) AND the best loss (Georgia). As as for the Buckeyes, it’s hard for me not to think that on some level the committee is steering the process toward Oklahoma. However, the more likely scenario is that they see two great offenses and two shaky defenses - and they simply prefer the team that lost to Texas to one that got blown out by Purdue. If that’s the case, similar to last year, I wish they would just say it rather than come up with these tortured rationalizations.
  22. Fitzgerald is a good coach, he'll have a good game plan, and he gets to tell his players all week that the whole world outside their own practice facility is not asking IF the Wildcats will lose but whether they will lose by 50. I'm confident the Bucks can roll if they play with the edge they showed last week (and only last week), but I'm concerned about the team taking anything for granted following an awesome game and celebration this past week.
