  1. Came out hot with three TDs in the first six minutes. Fields looked great early. Dobbins ran hard - sick stiff arm on one play in particular. McCall ripped a 37 yd punt return and picked up yards as backup RB. It was fun as hell to finally see Victor and Olave featured at WR. Then FAU started making some adjustments, the pass protection started looking iffy, Fields got hit hard a few times and made some rookie decisions with the ball, a couple of fumbles, and all of a sudden the Bucks went nine series in a row without a score. Meanwhile, in the second half Kiffin started attacking the seams in the zone with his tight ends (as Harbaugh likes to do), and it worked. On one play in particular Wint tried to defend a pass without turning around, giving me nightmares about 2018, and all of a sudden this blowout celebration wasn’t as much fun for me as it should have been. Talent won out in the end. Run blocking looks solid, Fields grinded out tough yards in the second half, Mack made a sick leaping catch on a big play, and today Jeremy Ruckert looked like he may live up to the Gronk-level hype. Teague got good experience in the 4th quarter. But, it’s not hard to imagine how this game would have played out against a good team. On D, Young and Okudah looked as good as advertised. It was mentioned that Young added 20 pounds of muscle this offseason?! Thanks Chase and Coach Mick. Malik Harrison looked good to me, too. My nemesis Luck Fickell on deck with a Cincinnati team full of a kids who dreamed of one day playing for the Buckeyes. Yikes.
  2. LFG!!
  3. I have serious concerns about Cincinnati and Nebraska before MSU.
  4. Jet sweep to McCaaaaal... GONE!
  5. This is no bueno.
  6. Former walk-on WR CJ Saunders has been voted a captain by his teammates. What a journey for that kid, and now I see that he's competing for backup H-Back. Incredible that he survived (and thrived!) at the most loaded position on offense.
  7. Just snap the damn ball already.
  8. With all the signings, excitement around Day's offense, and finally some momentum on defense, I'm pretty much fiending for some action. In the meantime, hell yeah - we need to appreciate Pantoni while we still have him (and Marotti).
  9. July 1. Buckeye football starts next month.
  10. Could be a snowball effect following some tough losses recently in games and on the recruiting trail. I gave Franklin credit last year when he said his team wasn't at an elite level -- thought that was an open and honest assessment of his team at that time. Maybe some top talent got turned off.
  11. I agree with this. Even though this won't be a whiteout, Happy Valley is still a tough environment for visitors, and the fact that UB earned a prime time slot is yet another step forward for the program.
  12. Glad he’s here and hope he doesn’t have to play this year.
  13. Just when I thought I had a sense of what is going on....
  14. Three-star grad transfer from Columbus and Fred Pagac’s nephew? Seems like a natural fit. I wonder what happened the first time around when he came out of high school.
  15. here we go...
  16. “Updated story on Matthew Baldwin's impending transfer will be posted soon. Bottom line: It was homesickness more than competition that drove the decision.”
  17. A talent so sought after it almost ruined both OSU and Texas.
  18. Seems to track the ball better than anyone at OSU since Devin Smith. Plus he's strong enough to go up and take it. This kid has to see the field this year.
  19. I am amped for the spring game and expecting the Bucks to be awesome this year.
  20. I guess you'll have to ask Miami Martell if the real reason for his transfer was to take a principled stand about the importance of active employer supervision over domestic disputes. I agree that players should be allowed to transfer just like coaches, and it appears that the NCAA is moving in that direction.
  21. I think the precedent here is that players can transfer if the coach they came to play for leaves. I'm generally fine with that.
  22. Good landing spot for Tathan.
  23. I am so pumped for this season.
  24. I liked Hafley's energy too -- and his promise that the CBs will turn their heads around and track the ball in coverage this year!
  25. Day retained the coaches he wanted to keep (for the most part), rebuilt the defensive staff and added a well-regarded QB coach, avoided a mass defection of players and recruits following the exit of an all-time great coach, got Fields enrolled in classes with approval to play appearing likely, and yesterday signed two monster recruits on the OL. I'm definitely biased, but Day's performance so far has been very impressive to me.
