Superbowl Game Thread - Chiefs vs Eagles

Happy for Hurts. I was impressed with how he handled himself in college when he was replaced with Tua at Bama. Class act, high character kid — I’m enjoying this for him. He would never hate-watch a super bowl with as much joy as I am right now lol -
One more thing

What a journey. I love this 10-year thread as a record of Buckeye fans' reactions in real time to the the daily drama of an incredible era. Looking ahead, they need to replace a DC, OC, and OL coach, with a bunch of new starters on both sides of the ball, as they prepare to defend their natty. Seems like a good time to start a new thread if that is what's being suggested.

I think you're onto something with overall perception issues. Day and Chip Kelly have a longstanding working relationship; it's possible that Knowles felt like he was on the outside of the core brain trust. I also wonder if Knowles perceives a better path to a major HC job at PSU with Franklin always on the hot seat and Day fresh off a natty. Pure speculation but it wouldn't surprise me.

I wonder if it’s related to the drama we heard hinted at with LJ, who to be fair we kinda stole from PSU. Also, I had a similar reaction to JBook’s here. Knowles wasn’t exactly an overnight success in Columbus — it took 2.5 seasons to get going with Ohio State’s talent.

get pics with them!

Judkins to the NFL - thought he might stay because the RB class seems loaded this year. Smith, Tate, and Matthews are fielding seven-figure offers to enter the portal - guess I can't blame any athlete or coach for chasing a payday after what they just did.

Wishful thinking that we could get him because he doesn’t have the size, speed, or the one-handed catches that jump off the page (or sell jerseys), but I think he would be insane as a slot receiver for the Bills.

I think 2 will be a good pro and would love to see him in Buffalo.

Rings hollow lmao. The rings are diamond.

Thank you! What a journey for this team. Alabama still looms large -- when Saban called OSU's defense "antiquated" on national television earlier this season, the Buckeyes made immediate changes. When the team was battling to stay humble during the playoffs, they talked about not eating the "rat poison." The Tide set a standard and won't go away anytime soon. As for the Bills, man I want nothing more than to see them play two more games with the salty, violent energy that the Buckeyes showed during the three national championships they have won in my lifetime. Buffalo has the dogs to push around KC and everyone else left in the NFL playoffs. Let's see them take another step by going into Arrowhead and settling the score with those jerks.

These two games coming up one day apart are almost too much for my brain to process. Stay locked!

Ohio State football— now, forever, and on Monday night.

A dream come true

ND thinks Day has thin skin that they can manipulate to their advantage. I hope Day sees it for what it is.

I’m sweating this one. ND is in a similar position that Ohio State was in when it upset Miami in the 2002 Fiesta Bowl. One of the many miracles of that game was Chris Gamble somehow shutting down Andre Johnson. Hoping the Buckeyes don’t let anything like that happen on Monday!

That is interesting and good to hear. The sense among Buckeye fans has been that he did not live up to the expectation that he would be the next Joe/Nick Bosa, Chase Young, etc. -- at least up until the last few weeks of this season. He may have been held back by changing defensive coordinators, and even when Jim Knowles settled in it seemed like Knowles and DL coach Larry Johnson were not on the same page. Once Knowles took complete control of the defense, including the line, the entire defense including Sawyer went to another level. So maybe he has more potential as a pro than we saw during his first 3.5 years in college.

That’s amazing. Go Bills and Go Bucks!!
