Check out Winning Time on HBO for some classic Jerry West moments.

    RIP

That character was HILARIOUS but apparently not a very accurate representation of Jerry West the person.  He and his family were pretty pissed by the way he was depicted in that show.  I mean just about everybody on that show was a caricature, the Larry Bird character being another glaring example.

But anyways RIP to the great Jerry West

Nathan's is the one biting the hand.  The competition has become a joke.  Only reason I checked it out the last few years was because of Chestnut.  Ain't nobody watching without him.  It was a dying thing already.

It was amusing when it first came out.  Used to watch it with the family on 4th of July and it became a bit of a tradition but it def got old and stale over time.  I totally agree by banning Chestnut from competing people will tune out in droves.

  3. I had the local news on during lunch earlier and a saw a little blurb scroll across the bottom of the screen about the Bills requiring parking passes for the games this year but haven't seen any talk of this anywhere else.  Thought for sure there would be something on here about it.  Has anybody seen anything on this?  I imagine this would only be for the official Bills owned parking lots which wouldn't affect me but still curious about the whole concept

I was just checking out the 2002 Detroit Red Wings roster and stats. They had nine hall of famers plus Pavel Datsyuk. But most of those guys were past their prime - I didin't realize that Shanahan was the leading scorer on the team with 75 points!

While I agree that a lot of those guys were past their prime I wouldn't say any of them were washed up at that point.  Really only Luc Robitaille was at the end of his career out of those guys.  Just a completely stacked roster.

I’ve put this out here before, but we have a neighbor who is a rather renowned architect. His wife went to the beach for vacation, and he went to Buffalo for his own little architecture tour. He saw the Bills stuff in the man cave and sent me pictures of wings and beer that weekend! I said “you have to try the pizza!” A few seconds later I get a pic of his pizza. It was an immersion experience, I give him credit.

This guy can and does go all over the world for jobs and pleasure. He’s an expert in architecture and this was a treat for him. I didn’t realize that growing up, and I bet a lot of people out there still don’t realize all the old jewels remaining from when Buffalo was thriving.

Buffalo is a phenomenal architecture city.  I think that's a point that gets lost on many people with Buffalo's reputation as being a blue collar rust belt city.  Buffalo is known for being an awesome sports town with great food and bar scene but the architecture in the city is probably it's most underrated feature.

It's nice to have something to watch, but playing hockey basically in summer is kind of ridiculous.

Have to disagree there.  The rare times the Sabres have still been playing in June the atmosphere around here is incredible

It was around longer than I thought. I think they officially got rid of it in 2006. So, it was around for more than a decade. But they didn't really enforce it much after a while.

Yeah I am surprised to hear this.  I thought the rule was taken out long before the 2000's lol.  But yeah sounds like it just became something they didn't enforce.  Outside of that Bills Broncos game I can't recall seeing another game offhand where this penalty was actually called.

  8. At this point really just seeing the Bills win a Super Bowl is all that matters(which would hopefully include a home AFC championship game).  I have experienced a lot of cool football stuff over the years...went to Canton for Thurman, Bruce and Ralph Wilson's inductions, have seen games at Lambeau, Arrowhead, Soldier Field, dome in New Orleans among a bunch of others.  I feel pretty fulfilled as a football fan minus never experiencing the Bills go all the way

Unrealistic Bucket list item- Attending a Super Bowl.  This was more of something I always wanted to do when I was younger but at this point with how corporate and expensive it has gotten I really don't even care anymore.  It would be cool to win free tickets somehow but it's something I'm never going to spend money on even if the Bills were in it.

Wasn't there, but watched it. Still get goose bumps.

    Crazy series of events.

Best part, I was young, in my early 20's, single, my own apartment, new car, good job, hope for Buffalo sports teams wasn't completely crushed yet 😀

    Man.....Good times!

Those early 20s, carefree days are so special!  It doesn't take long before the weight of the world crushes your spirit
