  1. Very sorry to hear about this. This year has felt particularly brutal for Bills fans passing away way too young 😢
  2. When he's healthy he can be a force. My only concern with him is he going to be the type of guy that is constantly dealing with nagging injuries? The injuries he's had so far could just be flukey but I get nervous because of his body frame. Sometimes those big guys like that can deal with nagging foot problems. We'll see
  3. But that's a completely different "IF" or hypothetical conversation. That 1990 Bills team is the perfect example of where you can say they were the best team in the league that year and deserved to win the Super Bowl. If those Bills and Giants teams played each other 10 times the Bills are probably beating them 7 or 8 times out of the 10. But I just can't do that for a team that has failed to make it out of the Divisional Round 3 straight years and hasn't advanced further than the AFC Championship game during this era. 49ers, Lions, and Ravens fans can all make the same claim they were the best team in the league this past year(not saying they would be right either) but they didn't catch the breaks to win the Super Bowl.
  4. Great movie although I didn't truly appreciate it as much when I first saw it as a kid versus years later when I started working my first office jobs
  5. Yeah although my post was focused on the NHL because of watching the Jagr ceremony last night I completely agree it's across the board with all leagues. I have already completely tuned the NBA out and each passing year my interest in the NFL goes down. It's a shame because I have always been a big sports fan but I could see myself becoming just a casual observer someday at this rate.
  6. I watched the Jaromir Jagr jersey retirement game last night and all of the clips and highlight videos brought back so many memories of the NHL I grew up watching. Those Pens teams with Mario and Jagr. The Red Wings teams with Yzerman, Federov and Shanahan competing against the Avs teams with Sakic and Forsberg. The tail end of Gretzky's career. The scrappy hardest working team in hockey Sabres teams. Hasek, Roy, Brodeur. The Legion of Doom with Eric Lindros. The crowds were so much more passionate and exciting. I miss when the NHL used to look like this but also feel so grateful this is the NHL I grew up on. One of my best friends from childhood was the biggest hockey/Sabres fan I knew. He used to watch all 82 games of the season every year and we got together a few years ago to catch up and I was sad to find out he doesn't even follow the NHL at all anymore.
  7. How can you say that when you have seen how they look when they play against Cincinnati?
  8. Can we hang a banner for being Hypothetically the best team in the league the last 4 years according to Bills fans on message boards and Twitter?
  9. Thanks for the perspective, this is what I was looking for. I haven't watched an NBA all star game in over a Decade I'd guess. I was reading online the slam dunk contest has become a real joke though.
  10. Well at least now the new stadium isn't going to be built on top of an ancient burial ground like it is now so there's that!
  11. That's pretty funny, I used to watch Step by Step when I was a kid and I knew the family were huge Packers fans but I can't remember any Bucks references offhand lol I was into the Cleveland/Golden State rivalry for a bit and that was really the last time I was watching the NBA outside of paying attention to the Bucks winning the championship a few years later.
  12. It's funny how you perceive things in your mind. I was born in 85 so I was 5 years old in 1990 and I do have some vague memories of back then and can remember the Super Bowl years but seeing as I wasn't around in 1980 that opening day game against the Fish always felt like ancient history to me. This is the first time I ever put it together that game and then the first Super Bowl appearance were only a decade apart...and the way time flies today a Decade really doesn't seem that long anymore.
  13. So I used to be an NBA fan at one point but have really tuned out in recent years. The last time I had any remote interest was when the Milwaukee Bucks won a title. Thought it was a cool story because they were like the Buffalo Sabres of the NBA when I used to really be an NBA fan and I always liked Giannis and it was just fun to see a small market team win a title instead of the usual bigtime markets of the NBA. But anyways my question is what the hell happened with them since they won the title? Seems like everything has completely unraveled over there. I saw recently they fired their coach and brought in Doc Rivers and just saw even he has gone 3-7 in his first 10 games. So what happened??
  14. It's extremely hard to win Championships. You need to have the talent, the coaching and for everything to go right in a season. The Bills are a very good team but they haven't been able to put it all together yet. I disagree with those that think the Bills have the best roster in the AFC and that only injuries or McDermott prevented us from going all the way. I still think there's work they could do to improve the roster. McDermott needs to continue to evolve as a coach or they need to eventually move on. I still think the Bills can be a Super Bowl team with Josh Allen but there's work to do. Right now they truly feel like a Philip Rivers Chargers or Patrick Ewings Knicks team to me. Good enough to win their division, get a ticket into the dance and make some noise but haven't been good enough to go the distance and win the whole thing.
  15. Ugh I didn't even realize that was announced...but yeah sadly I doubt they are finished yet. I could see myself going down to maybe only attending one home game a year if that at the new stadium
  16. My buddy's brother in law knows an attorney that has some tie-in's to the Bills and she told him they are already way over the stadium budget and the prices for tickets will be even more than they were originally anticipating and that's part of the reason why they are dragging their feet releasing the new prices. Not sure how accurate this info is but doesn't surprise me in the least.
  17. Really curious to see what the season ticket market is going to look like once the new stadium opens. I talk to as many people as I can around town to gauge where they are at and the majority of the responses are "I'm waiting to see what the damage is going to be" but I know some people are ready to hang up their seasons regardless and that's where I'm at. Gonna enjoy the next two seasons but after that I'm done and I will have no regrets not going to games anymore.
  18. So has everybody just given up on the Sabres too? It took me awhile to find this thread LOL
  19. The jokes on them when fans aren't willing to sustain paying these prices for Bills games for a team that can't make it out of the Divisional round 😂
  20. The first show that jumps out to me is Freaks and Geeks. That show was amazing. I have no idea how it didn't make it past 1 season As a kid I remember being really into the cartoon Duckman but it never really took off like the Simpsons or Family Guy. There's probably tons of cartoons like that out there that never really took off
  21. In some ways sure but there are a lot of problems in modern society. The economy sucks, inflation is squeezing out the middle class. Social media has poisoned the way people think. People are brainwashed by politics. The world has never been more divided. There are absolutely legitimate things going on out there contributing to the decline of this society. I agree with what your saying about people feeling like they have no purpose and lacking strong family values but that comes from some of the stuff I mentioned above. Are there some lazy people out there milking the system? Yes of course. Do I know hard working people that can't get ahead because they are buried in student loan debt and they can barely afford to pay their rent? Absolutely. I get the point you are trying to make but to say life has never been easier isn't fair to so many people.
  22. It's sad in a lot of ways we have really gone backwards as a society. Although I don't know what the motivation was behind this most recent shooting was so I won't speculate on this case in particular but speaking more from a general standpoint...we are living in a Country where people are really struggling on a daily basis. People are just not well mentally. We make this world as difficult as we possibly can on people and then we wonder why so many people are struggling with their mental health. Without even getting into the gun control debate, we have to accept that we have a mental health epidemic in this Country and changes are drastically needed. Has anybody ever seen the movie Falling Down from 1992? Now take that and multiply it by 1000 the way the world has evolved since then.
  23. Glad you're ok Billl, sad times we are living in
  24. Will be curious to see who they bring in to replace him with. Insane amount of talent on that Defense
  25. Tiger is right there with MJ and Tom Brady on the Mt. Rushmore of athletes with the greatest mental advantage. If Josh can learn a thing or two from being around Tiger I'm all for it
