  1. I miss the days when we were known as the true 12th Man, just a blue collar, hard-working, hard drinking(that could handle their alcohol) rabid fanbase. They should do a documentary on 80's/90's Bills Fans and show the youngings how to really do it
  2. I remember the comparisons of being in the mold of Jim Kelly and Brett Favre when we drafted him..and then he turned out to be a surfer dude from Cali who never was truly passionate about football. To this day I still wonder where those comparisons origiated from
  3. And what would you consider 2000-2004?
  4. Winner. If this doesn't sum up the last 17 years than I don't know what will
  5. See and that actually used to be me too up until a couple years ago. I think I had just beaten those years to death. Like it's depressing for sure because I know how awesome those years were but the reality is that was a really, really long time ago now. Think about it this way when Bledsoe got here and we all thought we were ready for another run, we were only one decade removed from the Super Bowl years. I was still OBSESSED with the 90s era I grew up with during that time period. Once again we really seem to be on the same page here. As much as it sucks to admit this, the unfortunate reality of growing up and becoming a real adult plays into it as well. My whole life the Bills were part of a childhood passion that carried on to the hard partying years of high school, college, and even the lingering partying years of late 20's but once you hit your 30's real life comes at you fast and then you have so many other distractions bringing you down its hard to feel intoxicated by the warm feelings of a football team from 25 years ago. And I'm not celebrating this fact, it absolutely sucks! That's a whole other discussion, I have been saying for awhile I give the younger kids who are diehard Bills fans today a lot of credit for sticking with this team. If I was growing up during this era I'm not so sure I would be as diehard as I am. Witnessing the 90s glory always gave me the perspective of knowing how good this thing can be.
  6. I think in the Bills case they've been so pathetic for so long that they constantly have to cram the 90s nostalgia down your throat that it just lost its luster for me. Like I keep saying, deep down I still love that era but I just wish we could've had some other bright spots over the last two decades so we wouldn't have to always reflect back on the 90s anytime we want to feel good about the Bills.
  7. This post pretty much sums up exactly what I was getting at with my original post
  8. Shady's a beast, I think most Bills fans absolutey love him. It's just a shame that the rest of the offense isn't built up to be a legit contender right now
  9. Good take, I feel that way too sometimes I think my biggest gripe is that we haven't had any other good periods of Bills football since then. I'll always appreciate the past and nobody was more in love with that era than me but I also feel like as Bills fans we have collectively beaten that era to a dead horse since we haven't experienced any other joy since then.
  10. I think some people are misinterpreting what I was meant in my OP. I never stopped watching the Bills or caring this whole time, i just can't keep living off the glory year memories, I need new ones!!! And I think the McDermott/Beane regime is just what we need to finally get over the hump
  11. Not sure they get in this year, and I think there will still be quite some rebuilding to do with the roster to bring in guys that fit what McD wants to do
  12. As I'm sure a lot of you that post on here did, I grew up and fell in love with the Buffalo Bills during the 90's Super Bowl runs. It was an incredible time and really all I knew of Buffalo Bills football(what a sick and twisted joke the next two decades would turn out to be). Even as that era faded away I think it still resonated within a lot of us for a long time afterwards. I know that's true just from the sheer amount of posts on here over the years talking about how we should bring back the K-Gun offense and so and so is the next insert(Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, etc.) I remember watching old NFL Films highlights of the 90 and 91 teams to get pumped up about the Bills during the offseasons and even nights before home openers but at some point I just lost the magical feeling. I mean deep down I still love those teams but I just can't reminisce anymore, I tapped that well dry. The Bills organization have been cramming those warm and fuzzy feelings from back then down our throats over the years to distract us from the piece of s*** product they have been putting on the field for the last 17 years. Even by the time the 30 for 30 came out I was kind of over looking back on those years. I think a lot of it has to do with how long we've been bad for and how much the game has changed, it just feels like ancient times now. Does anybody else share these feelings? if so, can you pinpoint when you began to feel this way?
  13. I think it might even take 2-3 years to show but I agree that it will as well. At this point I'd rather it take a couple more years if we are going to be built to last for a long time as opposed to squeaking in as a wild card team only to get bounced in the first round and have to reboot all over again.
  14. I guess you could say I'm all in since I got my season tickets back this year after swearing off never getting them again It still might take a couple more years but I'm 95% sure this will be the regime to finally end the playoff drought
  15. I had taken a few years off, but me and some buddies decided to get back on board after they put together the front office they did. I'm expecting another rough season ahead, maybe two but for the first time in forever I see light at the end of the tunnel. We decided we wanted to be there for the start of the McDermott era because we are pretty confident this is gonna be the regime that will finally end the drought.
  16. Dazed and Confused Fast Times At Ridgemont High Can't Buy Me Love(such an underrated movie)
  17. When the Bills finally win a Super Bowl it's going to be EUPHORIC!
  18. Jack Arnold Wasn't sure who I was going to select for best tv Mom but the more I thought about it I am also going to go with Norma Arnold
  19. Could be our ticket to a Professional Championship finally....Terry Git-R-Done
  20. I wish they'd fire him simply for the fact I'm so sick of always hearing about the guy
