  1. I vaguely remember this but don't really remember the details now. I have mentioned before on this board that Josh Allen is panning out to be everything JP Losman was advertised as. I remember when Losman was drafted he was billed as having the Jim Kelly, Brett Favre swagger but we certainly never saw that on the field. Allen has it
  2. If Josh carries the Bills to being a perennial powerhouse, going to the playoffs and dare I say it Super Bowls Josh Allen will become a legend in his own right so that won't really matter anymore. As of right now Jim Kelly has earned the pedestal he has been placed on in Bills Country.
  3. This thread has been fantastic. It's cool reading all of the different stories and perspectives of where everybody was at in life the last time the Bills were a true contender. One of the underrated aspects of being a big sports fan is it spans different generations and era's. I'm not a huge fan of modern times right now but hopefully this McDermott/Josh Allen era Bills team is about to bring us some new happy memories
  4. I was playing Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. Those days really do feel like a lifetime ago now
  5. Yes this was absolutely the signature win so far of the Beane-McDermott era. We have known since last year we can beat bad teams that we should be able to beat. But now we know we can play with the big boy teams in the league.
  6. Sleeper pick: Andy Cap's Hot Fries(have not had in many years but was always a big fan)
  7. I just got done watching a Documentary series on Netflix called High Score about the rise of video games from the very early years going up to first person shooters like Doom and Wolfenstein. I had forgot about how controversial Mortal Kombat was when that came out. Such different times lol
  8. What was the funny comment from Beane about preparing to face the press after they drafted him?
  9. It's all good. We probably both overreacted a bit, but hey what are messageboards for? Lol. And I can see where your coming from with all the DK fanboys, some football fans are like that in general where they obsess over certain players and it's all the Bills fault for not drafting them! Haha I def didn't mean for my post to be like one of those, was just an impressive hustle play that got me fired up!
  10. Fair enough. I can understand why someone wouldn't view that as the best play of the year...and yeah I was probably exaggerating at that point but I was also surprised to see a negative reaction to that play. I think it was the only negative reaction I've seen towards it all morning. Everybody has been raving about it...which yeah that does get kind've annoying when something gets blown up by media coverage and overdone but I jumped out of my chair last night and screamed out Holy S*** in real time reaction lol...Not sure if you saw where Metcalf lined up in formation on the play but that made it all the more impressive to me. Even though Seattle ended up losing the game, preventing a TD there was a huge momentum swinger.
  11. It's funny how the DK Metcalf play made the #1 play on Sportscenter over both of the big Locket catches(don't get me wrong they were fantastic grabs and they ranked them at #2 and #3 respectively) but if all you got out of that was a guy sprinting then I take it perhaps you never played any Sports in your life? The hustle, the determination and the fact he was able to make the tackle were incredible. The fact that Seattle's defense stood them up and prevented a scoring possession by Arizona made the whole scenario amazing.
  12. 10 years ago not only is that not a penalty but that would've been the featured hit on "Jacked Up" tonight on Monday Night Countdown.
  13. Great game last night. I stayed up way past my bedtime and I'm gonna be dragging ass at work today but it was worth it. That DK Metcalf play was the best play I've seen all season.
  14. In today's NFL if you hit a guy too hard it's a penalty
  15. They say you get what you pay for
  16. Yep. I remember sending something very similar to this to My Aunt when she moved to Las Vegas back in the early 2000's. You can also tell how dated it is by the Thursday in the Square reference.
  17. Big difference between Lombardi and Gregg Williams though. Lombardi's players absolutely loved and respected the hell out of that guy. Gregg Williams was just a prick.
  18. After how much it was referenced after the Titans loss I'm surprised that Chiefs loss on MNF in 91 hasn't been brought up more in this thread. That's the one that sticks out to me. We got Thumped that night.
  19. Individually? No. I don't think any one of those guys would have had an extreme impact on the Defense getting derailed if it was just a matter of losing one of them. As a whole? I do think that has had a major impact on the regression of this Defense. You are talking about 4 out of 11 starters on a "sum of the parts" Defense. But if you look at the rest of my post you will see that I also think they were probably overrated to begin with due to having an easy schedule. So you take a defense that was already a bit inflated in terms of where they probably actually ranked and then take away 4 starters and replace them with guys who haven't been able to fill the role and that is why you are seeing such a drastic change in the Defense this year. Some people think it is some huge mystery but when you break it down it really isn't as puzzling as some people are making it out to be. Just my two cents.
  20. You can only go so far with a "sum of the parts" type of Defense. At some point you need to have ELITE talent to be an elite defense. We just don't have anybody on that level. We used high draft picks on guys like Edmunds and Oliver who were supposed to fill that role but they are not having that type of impact at the NFL level. I have watched a few Steelers games this year and they have playmakers all over the field on their Defense. The losses of Lorenzo, Star, Phillips, and Shaq are turning out to be much more significant than anybody was anticipating. Last year's defense probably did look a bit more inflated because of the level of competition they faced. After 6 games I think it's a matter of this Defense just isn't as good as most people thought or were expecting this year.
  21. Imagine how the other team's fans feel when they see them listed with the Bills
  22. Whether internet or no internet there will always be hot takes. That's just the way society is, look at everything going from a politics standpoint right now. I can only imagine some of the takes that were circulating around barstools throughout WNY back then.
  23. Harrison has not looked good at all this year. I have no problem admitting that. I am not sure if he is still dealing with lingering effects from the ACL injury so I am not ready to write him off completely yet but we should really know where he stands as an NFL caliber lineman by next year.
  24. Without even throwing blame at Beane because the salary cap is what it is but it really is a shame that it's structured where you are pretty much forced to cut ties with guys like Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips. With the way the defense was playing last year Continuity would've been great but I just don't see how they could afford to keep those guys with all of the contracts they have coming down the line. The guys they had to sign this year to bring in as replacements are just not living up to their expectations. I really hate the business side of pro football.
