  1. I agree with this. I have to stress nobody that is defending Ed is saying what he did wasn't wrong. It definitely was but to call him the next Marcel Dareus or say that he should be cut etc. is going to the extreme. He made a STUPID decision. But a lot of people make stupid decisions at that age, that doesn't mean he cannot grow and mature from this experience. Whenever these kind of things pop up I just think back to how I was when I was that age and really do have sympathy for these guys as long as they didn't do something over the top. I'm sure there are a lot of other guys on the board that can relate to that.
  2. Agree to disagree. The problem with this argument is it's going to be subjective to your own personal life and experiences. While I think everybody would agree what Ed did was wrong and getting behind the wheel after some pops is WRONG in general..if you are someone that never did that in your life I can see why you would think it's inexcusable under any circumstances. For those of us that lived that lifestyle when we were young and dumb I think we can empathize seeing a young person make the same stupid mistakes that we had to learn and grow up from. I will say this though it sounds like you weren't around the bar and party scene when you were younger which is fine but I promise you there's a HUGE population of kids that age that will drive after having some drinks and it's usually just because a lot of kids are inexperienced in life and think they are invincible at that stage, not that they think they are putting anybody in danger. Most grow out of that but obviously not all. As for the adult population that drives under the influence that is an entirely different demographic where there are probably more issues going on like alcoholism, depression etc.
  3. Sad to see this end. Was nice having something to look forward to every week and thought the Doc itself was extremely well done. The music, the behind the scenes footage, the way these guys could talk with their guard down with all the swearing and not trying to speak in a typical media interview session tone. The emotion, there were even some funny moments thrown in there for good mix too. I was worried going into it that it was getting hyped up so much it would not be able to live up to expectations but it delivered!
  4. I'm sorry but you sound completely ignorant by saying people don't grow out of drinking and driving. I'd say that is one of the most common stupid things young adults do when they are in that age range. I'm not sure what your background is and maybe you were in the service or something and matured at an earlier age than your peers or something and kudos to you if that's the case but a 22 year old is still a college-aged kid at that time. An adult technically but for anybody that remembers what life is like for a 22 year old that is still the knucklehead stage. 22 was probably the craziest year of my life. You still feel invincible at that age. I don't have a clue what the percentage is but I promise you that the number of people who drive intoxicated in their early 20's that grows out of it is extremely higher than the percentage of people who will drive intoxicated for the rest of their life.
  5. The irony is we had two Stout Nose Tackles both right before the Super Bowl runs and after(Smerlas and Ted Washington). Imagine one of them in place of Jeff Wright during the Super Bowl years.
  6. I think the thing I'm most amazed at is how many people on this board apparently have never made any mistakes in their life especially when they were in their early 20s
  7. "Don't be mistaken we are not looking for choir boys"- Beane
  8. I'm a much bigger fan of the classic stadiums like Lambeau and Arrowhead but I do like it when a stadium reflects the city they play in and this stadium is perfect for Vegas. It looks just like of their fancy Casino's from the outside. I'm a little disappointed I was planning on going out there for the game this year but have decided to not even bother with the Coronavirus stuff going on.
  9. No most of the guys on the WOF were not Hall of Famers
  10. My thoughts on the Bennett Wall of Fame thing have always been this: I'm aware of what happened and no I don't condone that by any means but I also think it's a little unfair because none of those other star players were Saints during their playing days, they just might not have gone through an actual legal case regarding some of their misdeeds to society. From what I see nowadays Cornelius looks like he has grown up and matured just like the rest of those guys. He was such an important piece to those Super Bowl teams...much more so than a guy like Phil Hansen(nothing against him). It seems like such a glaring omission to not have the Biscuit recognized when you think back to those glory years. I would imagine Lawrence Taylor is in the Giants Wall of Fame equivalent and his off the field problems were well documented so I guess all I'm saying is give Biscuit his due. The fact he has had to wait this long is punishment enough . The thing with Bennett he had a ton of hype coming out of college. I mean being hyped up as the next Lawrence Taylor level hype so it is true that he didn't quite live up to those expectations. But he was still a great player. Not hall of fame great, but definitely wall of fame great. In the 91 season when Bruce was injured most of the year Biscuit had to anchor the defensive line by himself and was AFC defensive player of the year.
  11. Oh ok sorry I didn't even realize that violates any rules. No worries
  12. 1. Reed 2. Moulds Jerry Butler and those guys were before my time but I'm excited to see where Diggs can end up on this list when it's all said and done
  13. Can't read the full article. Can anybody copy and paste it?
  14. Every time I see a team change it's uniforms I am beyond grateful with what we have in Buffalo
  15. The Roaming Buffalo( a cool name for a transplant) The Woodshed...kinda ties in the Shed theme with I'm about to turn on the game and watch the Bills take the Patriots out to the Woodshed Please post some pics when it's all done. I love seeing people's personal home setups
  16. McDermott's role would be like the Phil Jackson of the team whereas you want Josh Allen to be our Michael Jordan or Tom Brady if we are going to use the Chicago Bulls analogy.
  17. If the Bills pass rush can take a step up then we can become a dangerous defense. I'm really hoping Ed Oliver can be our All-Pro stud that creates havoc and allows our other guys to step up and make more plays. He really turned up the juice the second half of the season last year as a Rook so it looks promising.
  18. Showing your age there my friend. I don't think McMonkeez has been in operations in at least 15 years
  19. I've said from the beginning they should chalk this season up as a loss. Same for the NBA. I understand they need to generate revenue. But there is no practical way to resume play right now with the fear of Covid spreading. I anticipate we will hear an official ruling soon announcing that's the case which I have been predicting since the beginning. I think a lot of fans, media, players, probably even the league were in denial about how this was going to end for this season.
  20. He was hilarious in the beginning but got stale midway through the series
  21. Sorry for your loss! Whether we like it or not this thing is real
  22. I have no idea exactly what is going to happen but in my opinion I don't see everything back to normal by football season where all fans can attend, full blown tailgating, packed stadiums etc....it is going to be very interesting to see how this is handled.
  23. I went to the Sabres game in Nashville back in January. I couldn't imagine how crazy it would be down there for a Bills game
