How are you passing the time today?
BillsPride12 replied to Conlan58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least the first game is almost on, that will help a bit! -
Agreed to a certain extent. The 85 Bears partied hard on Bourbon Street all week too and then went out and hammered the Patriots. But I do think the Bills already thought they had that Super Bowl against the Giants in the bag and did not go into it prepared at all. Some of it could be attributed to partying and some of it could just be a lack of focus in general.

I signed up to work overtime for this morning so that actually really helped eat up some time but now I can feel my anxiety level steadily rising again -
It's amazing the things you could get away with back in those days. I know people did stuff like that back then but as hard as I'm trying I really can't even dream of trying to do something like that nowadays.

For some reason this is a huge misconception in Bills folklore, I actually thought that was the case too until it was brought up recently on WGR -
A sense of calm this week...
BillsPride12 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is how I'm feeling. I was feeling pretty calm up until around today. I feel like earlier in the week it still felt pretty surreal but it's really starting to sink in that we're really here! -
A sense of calm this week...
BillsPride12 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was surprisingly right on board with you up until yesterday. It was the most calm I had felt during the week out of all 3 of the playoff rounds, maybe it was a sense of already having two wins under our belt and feeling more confident or like others have alluded to about playing with house money this weekend. But something happened today and I can't really explain it but all of a sudden everything just sunk in that we are only a few days away from playing for a FREAKING TRIP TO THE SUPER BOWL and now my nerves have shot up times a 100! I'm trying to soak everything in because you just never know when you will get back to even this level but definitely have some strong feelings of anxiety and nerves starting as of today. I imagine they will only continue to grow as we get closer to Sunday night. It's really an incredible feeling that I had completely forgotten what it feels like since it's been so long for us. -
Steelers signing Dwayne Haskins

To me it just sounds like another inmate added to the asylum over there -
I always liked Rivers. At the bare minimum I was really hoping he could've at least made it to a Super Bowl towards the end of his career. He deserved to play in at least one.

Do you like the term “Bills Mafia”?

Does anybody else remember the Ball Burglars era? That one didn't take off too well lol -
Do you like the term “Bills Mafia”?
BillsPride12 replied to Lionel Hutz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really a fan. Considering what the Mafia stands for I always thought it was a little silly to be associated with a football teams fanbase. I really miss the 12th Man days but I'll always be an old soul and miss that time period in life. But I've also come to accept that name isn't going away anytime soon and it's like Marv Levy once said "If you don't change with the times, the times change you" Just gotta roll with it. First and foremost I consider myself a BILLS FAN, the Bills Mafia stuff is more of a gimmick -
You can't erase history. Many of us would not be the diehard passionate Bills fans we are today without the Kelly Super Bowl era teams. That was an incredible era of football. It was all we've had to fall back on for the last 25 years or so until this new era...Finally! This current Bills team has the potential to win multiple Super Bowls so when it's all said and done this could up going down as the greatest era of Bills football but we still have to get there before we can even worry about that. Even if that does happen it in no way erases or diminishes what happened in the 90s in my opinion. Here's an interesting tidbit I came across over the weekend that I was really intrigued by and I feel like it's very relevant to this conversation. The Super 70s Sports Twitter account posted a picture of Reggie White and Buddy Ryan from the late 80s/early 90s Kelly Green uniform Eagles days and there were a ton of Eagles fans reminiscing about what a great era that was for them even though they actually never even won a playoff game..one Eagles fans actually said that was the most enjoyable era in Eagles history..so of course someone else asked even over the Super Bowl winning Eagle's team to which the guy replied and I looked it up to get the exact quote "Yup most enjoyable and greatest. It was the vibe, the energy, the I don't know. No team in that city has ever captured the city's spirits like Buddy's teams besides the Bullies" So that really got me thinking about how I feel now v.s. how those 90s Super Bowl teams were for us because there really was just something very special about that time period in life and the way it felt. I love this current Bills team but I also don't think I love the NFL as a whole as much as I did back then so it makes ya think and ponder over things.

Do You Think the Old Bills Players Reacted Like Fans ?
BillsPride12 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect you haven't been paying attention then. A lot of these guys are HUGE Bills fans now. On Twitter you can always see a lot of tweets of excitement by the alumni Bills players and even their wives. Kelly is a huge Bills fan. I have seen tons of videos of him going nuts in his livingroom during Bills games that his wife puts out there on Twitter. He even has his own season tickets for the home games. One of my favorite tweets I've seen all season was after we beat the Bronco's to clinch the AFC East, Thurman's wife tweeted out "Party at Jim and Jill's basement tonight"
