True...no argument, but again, I think the mindset was to also keep him out of Boston and their short porch in left as much as it was to bring him in to help them. Of course this also disproves that spending $$ "buys" championships. You still have to perform. Just because the Yanks spend $$ on players doesn't mean that the players are worth that much. As a Yankee fan, I HATE the big $$ that they spend, but in the world of business it makes sense for them.

Don't we all agree that we wish Ralph had this mindset?? All the haters, you're all hypocrites!

I don't brush it aside...I just don't seethe over it like you all seem to do. They don't have double the revenue of their fiercest rival the Red Sox, and they don't have double the revenue of their NYC counterpart (which they have to battle for fandom) the Mets. You have to realize that from a business perspective they are doing what it takes to stay on top. If the Sox don't offer a gazillion for A-Rod (which he holds out for more $$ and the Yanks see it as a necessary move to bolster their team while keeping him off the Sox) then the Yanks dont spend an additional $27M a year. They don't do this in a vacuum. Other things are the cause of this...take the hater glasses off for a minute and check out the realities in this situation.

I was born and bred in Buffalo and I grew up in a Yankee household. My first memories were of the Yanks losing the WS to the Reds in '76. I can remember my uncles cursing that it had been forever since they we winners. I didn't really understand it all, but I also remember them cursing the Bills losing and how the Sabres lost in the Stanley Cup finals...to me the Yankees were just another hard luck team my family rooted for (I was 7 at the time), but it only ingrained in me the deep passion for them as it did for my Bills and Sabres, and I'm loyal and passionate to a fault. The Yanks did win the WS the next two years and I was happy (as happy as an 8-9 yr old can get), but I then lived through some miserable years as the Yanks did next to nothing...I remained loyal as hell...Donnie Baseball and Dave Winfield are still two of my favorite Yanks of all time. Winning it all in '96 felt amazing, but I will agree that nothing...NOTHING will feel as amazing as if the Bills finally win a SB. The Sabres winning a Cup will be mighty damn close, but the Bills are my truest of all sports passions. Saying all of that....it is very possible for some of us to be able to passionately root for both the Bills/Sabres and the Yanks without being bandwagon fans. I refuse to ever be that.

Business 101 people. Get over the hate.

BS...the Sox could have reinvested and spent the money for A-Rod, Sabathia, Burnett and Tex, but they chose not to. Yankee haters will do anything to try to prove a point. Look....the Yanks play within the rules that are laid out there. They also pay hefty fees for their "spending" which go to the Pirates, Twins, etc to help those franchises (who's owners are doing the same thing Ralph is...laughing all the way to the bank). Is it a great thing? No...I hate the big $$ being spent because it ultimately costs the fans. But, please if you're gonna B word and moan, go B word and moan to Bud Selig. Hell, I'll support it.

I'm a diehard Yankee fan, and I root for the Cards in the NL (just casually though). The Yanks "still can't win"? What kind of statement is that? They have 26 Championships...are you serious?

Youth raise money for message "Fire Jauron"

This "kid" is exactly that. An 18 year old kid who, like many of us is fed up and tired of the garbage that gets put on display every weekend. He's also a kid who just wants answers as a fan of the Buffalo Bills. There is serious discontent here people. You talk about money and finding a better way to spend money, well I think Ralph should do the same thing. Go find another way to go make money Ralph. He's raping the Buffalo Bills fans by being crazy stubborn. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that what was being put on the field was second rate, and what was guiding them is 4th rate. People, including all of you bitching about a kid who's trying to make a difference, aren't stupid. I wasn't drinking the kool-aid and pretneding that the T.O sham would make us into a contender. Look...Ralph wants to run this like a business...well he's gonna get out of it exactly what he puts into it. Avg money in, avg money out, but that will NOT last for long. I think if anything, this shows Ralph that people will pay anything....even a silly billboard for a winner. If the Bills were 4-1 and ticket prices were $10-$20 more, people would be killing for tickets and Ralph would be hailed as a damned God around here... Will the billboard make much difference...?? Nope, Ralph is just too damned old and stubborn, but it does send a message that "we" the consumer wnat a better product. "Time to clean house Ralph" -
Correct! I still have the S.I with Jim in Generals gear on the cover.

Brees is dangerous as hell, and I'd almost put N.O ahead of N.E right now. -
I hate "blaming ref's", but there is merit in the poor spot debate. It may not have changed the outcome of the game, but it may have changed a few play calls (from 3rd and 1 to 1st down), it just boggles my mind that nobody on B-Lo's sideline or booth saw it. Anyway...we had a chance to shine in the national spotlight and tripped badly. Looking forward to next weeks game, so that's a positive huh? GO BILLS!

I see some people get "IT". I've been saying this for years (along with the need to TRULY upgrade the O-line). We're halfway there.

I wont go with moral victory either, but I saw enough from the Bills for me to re-evaluate what their season will look like from here on out. I really saw them getting pounded this year, but I think we will be far more competitive than my original prognastication. It might not seem like a step forward but another 7-9, or 8-8 year will be an improvement over last year esp with all of the personnel turnnover. Take it for what its worth...
-
It's all good. If nothing else, take the O-line's play and use that as a motivator. They finally, and I mean FINALLY realized you need great lines to be a great team. We're in those first few steps of getting better. Now lets work a deal to get a bonafide pass rusher and a stud LB, and we'll finally start to turn the corner.
-
It ALL starts and ends on the lines, and for the first time in years I'm looking at this Bills O-line in a positive light! Now we need some pass rushers!!!
-
Ha, ha, ha! Let's be real folks. This loss sucked, but I'm a realist and didn't expect this as a win...it would have been great and was well within our reach, but I didn't let myself get wrapped up in the moment even with the 11 pt lead. I've just been here too many times before with this team. Anyway, I came away from the game thinking much more positive about the teams chances this year than I did going in. The O-Line played better than I thought, AVP showed some diversity calling plays (would have liked more downfield throws though), the D was decent, and overall I thought that the team played the game unafraid of the Patsies at Foxborough. I mean they weren't timid and they played like they were in the same class as the Pats. That was HUGE to me. I know it's not the same Pats as before, but the Bills have had their fair share of turmoil as well. Needless to say, I wont dwell on this loss at all. There was too much good that I saw and I'm looking forward to next week! GO BILLS!
-
Lol...c'mon, if that were Schobel we'd all have had a fit over that flag. And, trust me I HATE WILFORK!
-
Agreed...when I saw it I wondered wht the hell the official was thinking throwing a flag. It was a worse call than Whitners penalty, which was suspect as hell, but at least that has some merit behind it with the helmet lead-in.

I'd still like to see Kelly suit up once more....

You're an idiot for comparing the NFL to wrestling or Enron. Good grief, use your head. The Harlem Gobetrotters are about the only "team" that can be successful traveling around as it's own entity. So, the Cowboy's and the NFL will benefit from that? I guess McDonalds should close down all of its stores except for those in large cities? Throw your "corporate" mindset out and use common sense. There will be way to much resistance to the NFL "abandoning/isolating" 6-10 NFL cities. F.U Jerry Jones!!

And?? You'd rather NOT be a playoff team?? To get to the SB you need to get to the playoffs where anything can happen. I guess our season being over by week 13 is better for you? Seriously people? -

Right...he couldn't win the big one, that's understood, but his teams were solid and he took teams to the playoffs. True...why would we want to have a winning record? I guess you'd rather go 7-9 forever, and not actually make the playoffs?
