  1. The contrast is good, but you can also see how horrible our talent evaluation has been in the early rounds. Now what if we grabbed Matthews, Oher, Ngata instead of some of the turds we got in round 1?? We had a shot at all of them and had we selected wisely, this team would be looking much different than 2-8.
  2. It's ALL about the line play!!! Get this through your head Front Office!!! You need more and more of the good, solid, tough guys in the trenches on BOTH sides of the ball... you'll see results almost immediately!!!
  3. The helmet is kinda sweet. Uni's aren't terrible, but we're not likely to actually see them.
  4. I hate losing, however I've already relegated us to probably losing another 5-6 games this year. If we do better or worse doesn't matter at this point. I hope wherever we do wind up drafting, we can find the talent this team needs (and it needs a LOT of it!). Realistically... I want the coaching staff to find its way, and I want a few young guys to get PT to see what they can bring to the table (not just preseason, or practices). Real game experience is the only thing that can truly measure their ability. I would never TRY to lose, but I have no problems with this team looking ahead to next year and playing some other guys during a few series in a game to get true "game film" on them. I am pleasantly surprised at the teams play as of late... they still drive me nuts on D, but they all do put out a good effort. Lets get some additional talent in the draft (1 guy will NOT make or break this team). Yes a stud QB would be nice, but a few stud DL's or LB's would be even better for this team. No need to reshuffle the deck... play the hand dealt, it's a process, let's stick to it (but PLEASE get a few more cards for the next hand, lol) McD
  5. Ha ha... you didn't even mean to make a funny, but yet you did...
  6. There's nothing on the 49ers team site, but good old Wikipedia shows him with the 49ers already.
  7. I want to hear the presser on why they didn't go after this guy....
  8. I HATE THE 49ers!!! They're just a bit shittier than we are and are able to get the LB's we want/need just ahead of us!!! Remember Patrick Willis? Damn, how much different could our D look with him in there?
  9. That is true. I guess we'll still get screwed. Hell Tampa (5-2), KC (5-2), Seattle (4-3), St Louis (4-4), Washington (4-4), Oakland (4-4), Cleveland (2-5), and Detroit (2-5) all have a shot at him first... I guess we get first crack in next years waiver system... Ugh!
  10. We have nothing to lose, but this kid hasn't even played a down in the NFL yet. That's not saying he won't be able to contribute... it just means he hasn't been able to crack that tough defensive line-up in Pittsburgh. Hell, I'm ready for anyone to come in and help, why not start the auditions now?
  11. Look... we're all optimists to a point with this team, but sometimes "realism" has to step in. I love the way our team has fought... We're all happier than Cowboys fans for sure, but... when, WHEN will the front office do something to address the lines and LB do so with IMPACT?! I would have rather had Fred Jax and Lynch running the ball behind another stud OL, or had an additional decent DE, and or LB. We needed to address the right positions first.
  12. We SUCK against the run... bring him in!
  13. What would he bring? A 2nd possibly? If it was used to get some line help, I might be inclined to say trade the man. Of course... you don't really know what you'll get in the draft, but we really need to go out and get some studs to open holes for the run, pass block, and on the D stop the run and/or pressure the QB. If we get a stud Lineman, it's a no brainer... trade Lee. Hell, you'd even reward him by trading him to a contender. He's paid his dues...
  14. This team can't stop the run... we are NOT a good football team. Over 270 yds rushing against... good grief!!!!
  15. Ha ha... I remember that old dude getting hurt (not that it was funny that he got hurt mind you). It wasn't intentional, but he got hammered as we were throwing a football around. Hell, that "old guy" was running around like a young kid... I had no idea he was that old until we walked over to him after he got hurt and I saw the gray hairs! I did my first ever bowling ball shots at an away game that day in '08 and I'm looking forward to doing some more this Sunday!
  16. I was there in '08, and I got my tix today for this weeks game. Although I dont expect a "W"; I do expect a good game and a good time. The KC fans that we met in '08 were pretty cool and can tailgate with the best of them (however, we showed them up a bit by tailgating in a group in front of the gates LEADING INTO the parking lots an hour before they opened, lol...). Hopefully, all will be well with the game, weather, fans, but I don't expect any issues. I'll be leaving here (StL) Sat night and staying at Whiteman AFB, MO (about an hour east of KC), then driving in in the early AM to meet up with a bunch of the Bills crazies.
  17. I agree. Fitz has shown me enough that he can play the game and be more than just a "manager" on the field. If we wind up with the #1 overall I wouldn't mind trading back (if lady luck is on our side) and somehow getting two later 1st rounders or a mid level 1st and an early 2nd rounder. We need way too much DL, DT, OLB, OL. So far we have seen that the O can produce, but the D cannot. Start there.. an impact pass rusher will be an enormous boost to our D and throw in a run stuffing DT and a LB that makes plays against the run and can cover will be of immediate importance. Grab an O-lineman in the early 2nd or 3rd.. This is with a trade out of #1 if we own it Round 1. Pass rushing DE OR run stuffing DT 1. Run stuffing DT OR Pass rushing DE 2. Impact OLB OR Impact OL 3. Impact OL OR Impact OLB With these first 4 picks, you can really start to see some changes to our team on both sides of the ball, but most importantly on D. Is QB important? Absolutely, but I think we have a guy that can make plays. What we need first is a line that can dictate play on both sides of the ball, maybe create some room for Spiller on O and slow down the run game on D. McD
  18. Are you going Aussie?
  19. If Brady, either of the Mannings, Brees, Favre, or Rodgers had those stats, you better believe they'd be nominated....
  20. Yes it is...!
  21. Would be nice huh? I'll see what I can do for you
  22. I'm looking as well... We were there in '08 and had a blast!
  23. Steve Johnson was NEVER a bad WR, he just never got the chance from the BAD coach that was Dick Jauron... Johnson's talent was evident from the start, but for some reason Jauron kept him on the bench. I said it from the start that Johnson would be a better WR than Hardy... That's just how sad out player evaluations and coaching is...
  24. I am looking into buying tix today... my 8 year old is guilt tripping me into it, lol! I'm in St Louis right now too, so that's an 8 hour ride there and back... they better at least be entertaining!! McD
  25. Serviceable? A 1983 K-Car is a serviceable mode of transportation, but when your competing against Corvettes, you're in way over your head. I see your point though, the D-Line needs more attention than the O-Line, but I'd take a better than avg LT right now. I'd also love to get a true pass rushing DE and some LB's than can cover the pass and support the run.. is it possible to get this all in a year? And realistically... will we ever see a change in the front office? I'm ok with seeing what the plan is from Buddy, but... we deserve more than what we've been being fed. BTW... I'm a realist and predicted we'd go about 3-13 this year, so I knew it would be ugly, but they've actually looked much worse than I thought...
