  1. Correct... do any of you honestly think he's thinking about anything other than catching that ball as that play is happening? Hell no... he just plain dropped it. Didn't matter what other "accounts" he has... to think he was distracted by something outside of football at that moment is straight silly. I don't know about any of you, but when I play any sport I'm not hearing, seeing, thinking, or being effected by anything outside of the game (except golf of course, when I'm usually starting to feel the effects of my 8th beer, but that's a different story). His post game vent however...well, that's between him and "whomever" he was referring to. I feel for the guy, and I truly think he'll rebound nicely... he's been patient enough for his shining star to brighten... being humbled can only help him in the long run...
  2. Ha ha ! The silver lining... NICE! This is what's been on my mind sine the Balt game...
  3. Ha ha ha! Awesome!
  4. Wouldn't that be an awesome sight!?
  5. Our biggest need will be from either a pass rushing/run stuffing DE... or a run stuffing/penetrating DT (depending on our defensive set. After that we need smart, athletic LB's (again, depends on our D set). I would look at O-line help too, but not until Rd 3 or 4. I guess it depends on whether the O-line continues to play well, and maybe who we can score in the off season.
  6. Yes... I know you read it wrong yesterday, lol. "Butt" that's ok The thing that is ****ty though is that EVERY team in the NFL scores with help from a penalty and without it... To keep on harping about it was silly of Wilcotts, he sounded like an idiot.
  7. I coach youth football now and we have to be certified through USA Football to even step onto the field. Back when I was a kid playing... it was really about how hard you hit and wrapping... that was about it. These days you're taught to NEVER lower your head to tackle... you are supposed to "break down" and get lower than the guy with the ball, BUT you are taught to keep your head up, wrap the legs, and drive through the player... this is mostly for protection of the "tackler", as opposed to the person being tackled. Now, I understand Harrison has been playing under the way he "learned" to tackle for years, but he knows how to control his body and his tackling technique. Once a rule is changed, it needs to be adhered to, and by him basically spitting in the NFL's face by saying he isn't changing is something that needs to be addressed. The thing is... when has anyone ever been taught to takle someone by the head or chest area? Now... saying all of that, my initial reaction to the hit was that he hit him hard, but I didn't necessarily agree to the call. It's a judgment call by the officials who are sitting there "waiting" for that call to make... Just don't give them the opportunity to throw the hanky.
  8. Wilcotts was sure to ALWAYS mention how the Bills were helped on their scoring drives by a Pittsburgh penalty. I guess he strongly feels we wouldn't have ever scored without a yellow hanky on the ground... damn idiot.
  9. Oh Noes! Youthinks I got "pwned", what ever shall I do?!?!? Lol,what...? Two posts out of about 15? Dude, with over 8K posts, I'd assume you'd be more into the actual thread discussion.
  10. Fans aren't into it either... Trying yes, but we need some additional TALENT there... FA's or through the Draft, we need some studs in there!
  11. This game mostly lies in our defensive front 7's hands! If the Bills keep this game within 10 I'll be estatic!
  12. Now you wont get to see that game, or the possibility of it. BSU already beat one of those "untouchable/unbeatable" big schools recently, when they beat OSU, so they can play with anyone. Again, I'm no BSU "fan", but I want to see a small school play big. Now TCU waits for a shot, but I'm ok with Oregon vs Aub, they've both earned their way so far.
  13. I like Bowers as well...
  14. Seriously? Damn man... what an ass. Who the hell has to have it out for a small school that can hang with the big boys. It's almost anti-Bills like. What the hell do we do all the damned time against the NFL powers? You've proven nothing really. Nevada was ranked #19, playing at home in their BIGGEST GAME EVER (so they say), and if the refs dont call (or call fairly 2 calls), this game is over in the 3rd. No I wont B word about the officiating.. **** happens, but if you watched the game you'd know what I'm talking about. Also, BSU's kicker blew 2 FG's under 30 yds... one with no time left and 1 in OT... what a joke, lol! What I find even more ironic is... to all those IDIOTS that think Special Teams aren't important... TAKE A LOOK!!!! Yes, I'm calling you out HoF voters!!! I still stand by my thought of schools outside of the supossed big conferences have just as much of a shot as anyone, that's all... I pull for the underdog, so I'll be routing for TCU to make some noise... I just can't stand people/schools that run their mouths when they know they'll never have to back it up... Really, to me it still comes down to certain schools who just dont want to give up the limelight that they dont deserve anymore...
  15. Lol... I dont know if any of you are watching this Boise St. vs Nevada game, but after being up 24-7 Boise is now only up 24-21. Now I wont sit here and say Boise is getting JOBBED...but, lol, Boise is getting JOBBED by the refs! A fumbled punt that Boise recovers, and a "phantom" call on hitting the punt returner early?!?! TERRIBLE call! 4th down pass interference call against Boise (guy turned around, but I could live with the call), but then Boise makes a long throw on 3rd andf long... the DB CLEARLY interferes with him and NO call?!?! All game changing calls against Boise St. Lol, well looks like maybe the OSU Prez has some officials in his pocket too huh? I guess the little schools need to be careful not to get too close to the "big boys" or else the officials will help take them out. Sad really, but Nev is #19 and is playing with a lot of emotion at home right now. If Boise has the "goods", then they'll prove they can win in a tough environment even with the bad calls. If they can't I guess they dont need to be playing for the title... Should be a good finish!
  16. What to say about Cam...??? Hmmm... I think the kid has potential, but I'm not sold yet on his ability to play in the pro game. Trust me... I was one of the few who wanted to see Vick here, so it's not about having a "mobile" QB.. it's about having a QB that can get us in the right direction sooner than later. I just dont know how Cam would do for his first few years. I just prefer D the first few rounds, if he's there in Rd 3, then maybe.
  17. I understand and agree in large part to the "better conference" theory, but I don't buy into the bigger school will always win, or "deserves" to be there all the time because they play supposedly better schools. And, really... if you're truly better, what's wrong with playing a team you should handle quite easily? Here's the thing... we need a playoff, pure and simple. 64 teams is too many, but I can see a 32 team field using a conference playoff/championship to get down to 16 or 8, then having a conference champs play in the field the rest of the way. Independents?? Well, they need to get in a conference or figure a way to get into some kind of playoff system between the other large "Indy's" or they get left out. To me, seeing how the men's basketball bracket plays out is awesome, and even the "Butler's" of the world get their shot at glory. Nobody is questioning the power of the "better" conferences, but nobody should question a teams legitimacy if never given the opportunity to play. Ever hear of Buster Douglas?
  18. Seriously....??? You don't see his sarcasm?
  19. Guess the Bills brass will see this as a threat to our stout pass D and draft 4 DB's this year...
  20. Someone stole my profile pic!!!
  21. Good story... but he's still a weasel in my book....
  22. It'll be interesting to see where we fall in the draft order. I also start to wonder if Buffalo would actually consider trading up to the #1 to get Luck...? I feel we have too many holes to do this, but then again, we'll have to see what's available in FA as well. If we can shore up the front 7 with FA's, I can see us going after Luck no matter where we're stitting on draft day.
  23. EVERY conference rival game can be viewed as a tough game in any conference. I know the point you're trying to make, but a conference rival is always a tough game. As for your theory on Alabama... check this link, it shows some top 25 teams, but not top 10... http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/333/alabama-crimson-tide I'd like to see some common opponents as well, but since we dont have that you still cant disprove Boise St's ranking anymore than I can prove it. Again, let's find a way to get these teams head to head... but, wait... we can't because those who think they know more than us (really it's about power and $$) have control of that. We do know this... Boise got a shot to play Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta, and WON. To me this school has proven it can play with the big boys, and the big boys know it. So... can they do it all the time on a consistent level? I guess we have to hope they get in to a big conference to prove it. Until then, the little big guy has to wait in the wings... Funny we're talking about comparing a Boise St team (est 1968) to the likes of OK (est 1895) and/or Auburn/Alabama (both est 1892), etc. Those schools have been around forever with a TON of alumni and recruiting "tactics", and lets not forget how much talent WON'T go to Boise St because... well it's in Idaho!
  24. True... very true.
  25. How did most of the teams in conferences get in there? I bet MOST of them fell into a conference based on what region they're from. I don't know the history, but I would venture to gues that most of the teams in their respective conferences didn't need to "beg" to get in. So now schools not already in big conferences have no right to play for a title no matter how good they are because they're not part of the "good old boy network"? Too funny, but not shocking now is it??
