  1. Maybe if he had EJ set up for success earlier, EJ would be a bit more comfortable.
  2. Correct!!! Do you know what Jimbo, Thurman, Reed and Metzelaars would do against this D??
  3. E.J needs to throw 'til he pukes...!!!
  4. Ha ha ha... we're still ****ty...
  5. I don't give a damn what you say about playcalling... its bad. You have to call plays against a D based upon what they give you. Hackett isn't calling anything to back up that pressure from the Jets... they come every time and we run right into it.
  6. Offense is PATHETIC...
  7. So far, so horrible....
  8. Not sure how many of you remember his videos, but I thought he brought a humorous (yet insightful) look at our Bills (drafts/pregame/etc). Anyway I was curious to see what his thoughts were for this year but he's nowhere to be found. His YouTube page is gone, his Twitter last had a tweet on 25 Jul... I hope nothing happened to the guy.. Anyone have a clue?
  9. Has anyone asked the question of whether or not her "service" was good? I mean, I'm hearing how service workers make their $$ mostly off of tips, so I would assume they would be very friendly and courteous. Maybe Brees didn't recieve good service from her? And what is the definition of a "service" worker? I mean anyone that does something for you is doing a service, so how do you know that one individual is making less than another? Maybe put up some signs that tell customers that and maybe tips would be better. I just paid $452 for my car to be "serviced" oil, brakes, tires, etc and I didn't give a tip, but to me THAT service is much more important than someone bagging up my General Tso chicken. When I lived back home in B-Lo and worked in a pizzeria (I mean who hasn't?), I very rarely got a tip from anyone and I took the order, made it, bagged it and then handed it to them as a take out order. Saying all of that we were always very friendly and courteous to our customers because... well, that's just good business! I hear and feel for this girl's situation, but she was way out of line in the way she handled it.
  10. If your parents didn't Fuhkmore none of you would be here. I think we should all Fuhkmore and learn to enjoy life!
  11. Some people are ridiculously touchy and overly sensative. Funny thing is Stevie and every poster on this board has the right to wear/say/think/believe/feel anything that they'd like to. Not that it matters, but I like Stevie as a football player and as a psuedo entertainer. Can he be/act foolish? Sure, but he's made me laugh or smile way more than not, so I'm good with that. That and the fact that he's loyal to the Bills almost to a fault is refreshing as hell to me. Too many other Buffalo athletes that haven't been in the media for "negative things" have straight BAILED on Buffalo... Give me a silly (yet productive) player that's loyal to the city/team anyday over one simply looking to make a fat paycheck elsewhere.
  12. It seems that the player has more rights than the team. If a player DECIDES NOT TO PLAY the team should have the same right to DECIDE NOT TO PAY. I'm all for player rights, but this is extreme and is hurting the team and it's fan base. I'd love to see what kind of legal action can be taken against a player by John Q public that has paid $$ for season tickets/merchandise etc and then the player chooses not to play and therefore effects the individual that already bought tickets thinking that player was part of the team...? Precedent making? probably, but maybe these pompous ass players, agents (and teams) would get their **** together!
  13. That was excruciating to watch.... It's like someone lubed him up and no defender coould get a grip. Conversely tell me HOW IN THE HELL DOES HOSTETLER HANG ON TO THAT FOOTBALL IN THE END ZONE WHILE HE'S BEING TACKLED BY BRUCE!?!?!
  14. The question IS relevant. Both teams get EQUAL time off before the SB game because it's FAIR and right. The do not let one team have an extra week off to rest and prepare, thanks for helpiong me prove my point. I'm asking a simple question about an extra week being more advantageous or not to a team. The answer is YES. And earning (yes I said EARNING) a first round bye (after being the best for the entire season) is ok in my book. Besides, the team with the time off only gets to rest during the extra week, they don't earn extra prep time because they don't know who they'll be playing and have to wait until the weekend before to see who wins. Check out this scenario: if two teams finished first and second in a division with 10-6 and 9-7 records, but the team with the 10-6 record won a game (after its bye week) against the 9-7 team (not coming off a bye week), thus giving them the Division. Now, if that happens every few years, then ok, but in the case of "some" NFL teams, they get that advantage EVERY year. All I have been stating is that "advantage" should be spread around equally. To those talking about the Bills lack of winning as being the cause... WTH are you smoking... so you're stating we should always get screwed until we start winning...? That's like throwing water on someone that's drowning... Hell I'm not whining about it, I just want the "equality" in the NFL to actually be equal. Again... if this happens occaisionally, then that's the breaks, but when you do some digging, the past scheduling facts show the Bills haven't recieved their equal share of the bye week scheduling advantage.
  15. Well now that's just plain silly.
  16. I asked (and answered) this earlier, but nobody disputed it... so I'll bring it up again... Before the AFC/NFC Championships or the SB... does one team get an extra week's time to heal/rest and prepare for their opponent? If not, why do you think that is? Do you think that it would be an unfair situation for one team over the other? Of course it is. With the way the regular season is laid out it's hard to accomodate everyone perfectly (that doesn't exist), but there shouldn't be a 4-5 game discrepancy here... that's all people are having issues with Any dispute to this?
  17. Lots of good points here (even if some peeps are off point a bit). I haven't heard anyone pissing and moaning about Mon or Thurs games... but rather the fact that some teams have 5 games against teams coming off byes while others have none. We know the shedule isn't all that easy and maybe the NFL schedule makers don't realize that anomoly exists...? If that's the case, then speaking up about it isn't a problem. Really, the question at hand becomes obvious with the following question... Before the AFC/NFC Championships or the SB... does one team get an extra week's time to heal/rest and prepare for their opponent? If not, why do you think that is? Do you think that it would be an unfair situation for one team over the other? Of course it is. With the way the regular season is laid out it's hard to accomodate everyone perfectly (that doesn't exist), but there shouldn't be a 4-5 game discrepancy here... that's all people are having issues with.
  18. After looking at the past 10 years, I found an interesting stat. The Bills only had one Divisional game after a bye and that happened to be against the Pats who also came off a bye that week, which nulified any "advantage" for either team. The Pats however had the advantage of coming off of a bye to play another Divisional opponent a whopping 6 times in 10 years. The Fish and the Jest each played 4 Divisional games. Not going for a conspiracy here, but an eye raising stat that shows there is a lot of disaparity in the scheduling that should be corrected. The records at first glance might not show much, but after looking a bit deeper there's more to it... Pats in 10 games off a bye and 6 Divisional opponents 9-1 (their only loss came against a 12-4 Steelers team). Mia in 10 games off a bye and 4 Divisional opponents 5-5 (they played 2 eventual SB champs in here N.O and GB and went 1-1 and the loss was a much closer close game than the 46-34 loss. They also beat the NFC champ Bears and lost by 7 to NFC West Div winner Seattle on the road). NYJ in 10 games off a bye and 4 Divisional opponents 6-4 (Lost to eventual SB Champ GB, and an 11-5 Seahawks team). Bills in 10 games off a bye and 1 Divisional opponent 5-5 (Lost to a 10-6 Dallas team on the road by 4, Lost to SB Champ Pats, beat Div winner SD, lost in OT to the 12 Ravens on the road, lost 21-9 [respectable] to a 12-4 Texans team on the road. This isn't perfect, but you can see that there is some substance to having an extra week off before a game, and it is a bit odd that other teams within our Division that have had a much better schedule than the Bills. Would those games (all being fair and equal) make a difference...? Impossible to tell, but if you go with the odds I'd say yes. Even a game or two here and there could change a season. Having 6 Div games (Pats) after a bye compared to 1 (Bills) is a disgrace, and it can be rectified if the NFL scheduling committee wanted to do so.
  19. I of course had to hit up Pro Football Reference to check your facts... From 1990-1992 there was a single bye week. In 1993 there were two bye weeks. Here's where the Bills bye week was each year. 1990 week 6 1991 week 9 1992 week 7 1993 weeks 3 & 7 Those aren't really "late season" byes.
  20. All you did here was ramble about nothing important (too much Red Bull/coffee?). Not only that, but I feel that your response was a bit beneath you as I've seen some pretty decent posts from you. If you've read my posts I never said there was a conspiracy theory against the Bills, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that they can eliminate the discrepancies in the schedule... that's all pretty simple. You talk about a schedule for Toronto like it's a big deal... you schedule the Bills 8 home games and then make one of them an NFC game in Toronto.... how damn hard is that? I mean it's not like its ONLY 2 hrs away (oh wait, it is!), and what is that in flight...? 20 mins? I can see the guys in the NFL scheduling committe now... "how in the HELL do we schedule that damn Toronto game?" "Holy hellfire Batman its... its IMPOSSIBLE without completely bending over backwards for the Bills... we have to take hotel space into consideration... oh wait it's Toronto, plenty of that... we need to think about weather... oh wait it's in a Dome..." ****, some to think of it, this Toronto game is pretty easy to schedule for!" The money aspect, I already discussed (that you seemed to have ignored) in my previous post. I could care less about Prime Time games... those should go to the better teams because it is a money generating business. The only thing that I've had any contention with is the fact that there are some teams that will have to play 5 teams coming off bye weeks and those teams are negatively impacted by those games. No conspiracy theory here, and there's nothing to do about it this year, but I don't think it's a problem to bring up and try to rectify for future scheduling. Just make it as fair as possible.
  21. I don't think you understand his point here... he's not asking to have more favorable play times... he wants a schedule without having to play 5 teams coming off a bye. Pretty simple.
  22. I'm not sure why you're equating a "late bye" (one game) to a schedule filled with having to play 5 teams (5 games) with an extra week to rest/heal/prepare for a game against the Bills. I'd also like to know how a MNF game is beneficial to a team other than from a national spotlight/money generating standpoint? I'd rather play all of my games on Sunday and have a full week to recover, than play a Monday night game and basically have 5 days to rest for the next game on the following Sunday.
  23. Your mixing big business with game outcomes. The Toronto game helps the BIlls front office and the NFL, but the city of Buffalo feels the loss of revenue, and fans the loss of a great home game atmosphere. The argument that the NFL is "appeasing" the Bills isn't as factual as you make it out to be because the NFL is making out $$ wise with this arrangement or else they wouldn't allow it. Also, scheduling fewer games in Buffalo on the back end only helps the Bills front office and NFL because chances are (and have been) that less people would attend these games, thus negating income ("front loading" home games while the Bills aren't already eliminated would generate more income than later games in inclement weather). Not having more home games on the back end hurts the players/coaches who would get more help with home field advantge/less travel/sleeping in their own beds, etc. Of course winning eliminates the need for that, but realistically the NFL doesn't lose out on it's $$ on either situation so how are they going out of their way to help us out in any fashion? The game played in Toronto already hurts the Bills players/coaches. Having it played against an NFC team only reduces that hurt. There's no reason to play a Division game in Toronto, but I can see how you can throw that in there to "support" your argument. Buffalo (due to it's own front office) is already at a disadvantage by playing only 7 home games, and now it's ok to give other teams (including Div rivals) even more of a break by allowing them to rest/heal/recuperate and prepare for a game that ultimately means 2 games in the standings? So explain why it's "so difficult" to create a schedule without all of these problematic scheduling issues? I'm sure there are some people getting paid some pretty decent $$ to create that thing and it could be done without the bye week discrepancies.
  24. While I don't buy that anyone in the NFL scheduling dept is trying to "stick it" to the Bills, I can see where there is a disadvantage to playing a team that is coming off of 13 days of rest and preparation. The Bills players/coaches already have a disadvantage in playing a home game in Toronto (yes, the front office brings in the $$, but it sucks for the team and its fanbase), and as a football coach and scout I can completely agree that those extra days of rest and preparation can greatly influence the outcome of a game. However, I will say that as far as preparation goes, that's up to the coaching staff to adequately utilize that time. If they're competent, I feel there's a HUGE advantage. If they're not, then the bye most likely won't matter. The extra time after a bye is more likely helpful to players that are banged up and have the additional time to rest and heal themselves before the next game. This applies to both the physical and mental side of recuperating. I also don't think it's right to call people "whiner's" for simply asking for a schedule to be fair, but to each their own.
