Denver Broncos DB Darrent Williams shot and killed.
BoondckCL replied to Spanky46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen brother. The thing that i find kind of interesting is #1 in the original post. Devil's Advocate Time Who is to say that he hired the driver to prevent DWI? Let me put this in perspective and spin it counter-clockwise to King's opinion... Denver was playing for a playoff spot that night. Who is to say that it was not his plan to get into the playoffs, and then go out on the town that night and thug it out like he was in a Notorious BIG video. Who's to say that more Broncos were not supposed to be there, but many cancelled because of Denver's elmination that night? Wow, i could have Peter King's job. -

Are you trying to start a debate about about how our government is for sale and that you can never get truth out of a politicians mouth? I would assume that is what you are trying for since my original post has no errors, and the "Idiot!" thing is clearly your idea of a clever stab at humor by feeding off of a bit that has long turned soggy. While we're at it, having this debate that is, why don't we review the electoral college and freedom of speech, since the other things brought up in the original post are as elementary and considered almost as much of common knowledge as the things that i mentioned. Only a first grader would find any kind of shock in the fact that politicians are dirty !@#$ing liars, and that the system is not in fact as pristine as they preach it to be in grammar school. -

Everybody knows that both sides of the political arena spin the truth to fit what ever glamours their opinion and trashes the opposition. The fact of the matter is that you need to sort through the layers of bull sh-- and decide for yourself what the truth is, since you will never get anything even close to it out of the mouth of a politician. Why would you even post this? -
100 most Influential Americans
BoondckCL replied to X. Benedict's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
But, how does praising him while at the same time as tearing him down in anyway constitute his right to be in the top 20 of presidents? If we are judging based on the amount at which people screwed up, then there are a few people that i would like to propose to be on the list. Not trying to be a pain in the ass, just a little drunk and looking for some debate of some kind, cause the thugs i am drinking with have no idea who LBJ was. -
Lavar Arrington.

Especially in a place with as many tourists as an airport. Not just any airport, the airport that conducts the most traffic in the United States. This story can officially lick my balls.

Muhammed Ali.. Greatest figher in history

Maywheather is a smaller guy, light weight, but he is the complete package by today's standards. -
Is there a Ngata in this next draft?

I think the super bowl should prove that there is no room for Jeff Wright on this football team. -

It is something to be argued, but then you come back with who are these present boxers fighting? All the good athletes are becoming football, basketball, and baseball players due to the money. Just a fact of life. But, i think if you put Ali against Frazier early on in Frazier's career, Frazier would have mopped the floor with Ali. In the 15th round of one of the fights, he took down Ali, and that was the real Joe Frazier that Ali should've fought, and should've lost to all three times he fought Frazier. -

The general consensus seems to believe that he is the best, i've seen a few fights but i think a lot of people fell in love with the pizaz and flash of the character outside the ring. It is tough to rank boxers in one category since there are different weight classes, but if we are ranking based on best fighter, i'll give it a shot. I haven't seen too many fighters, but i know the guys that are impressive fighters and guys that have caught my eye. Surely Ali is up there, but there are a few others. No particular order... Joe Frazier Muhammad Ali Sonny Liston Rocky Marciano Mike Tyson Floyd Maywheather Jake LaMotta Evander Holyfield Bernard Hopkins Lennox Lewis Tommy Herns I would say, based on personal opinion, that Joe Frazier is the best of all time. No question based on what i have seen. The guy boxing now that you should watch is Floyd Maywheather. Guy is a !@#$ing beast. Pure combination of power and speed. He's willing to get in close to you, make you feel like you have a shot, let's you pull the trigger, he dodges, and makes you pay tremendously for your mistake. Watch Maywheather vs. Gatti on Pay Per View, he absolutely destroys to fan favorite. -
A hell of a lot better than Villarial though. After Villarial goes down, go figure, Losman starts to look like the quarterback of the future and the Bills are officially staying in games. He went down in the loss to the Colts, and ever since the Bills have in a way been something to brag about.

Vick not given the same shot as Manning
BoondckCL replied to Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would tend to agree with you now that people have had time to see that he just isn't that good. But I would say that Vick is the most over promoted player to ever play the position. Michael Vick is a pill that the NFL wanted the consumer to swallow because he resembled in some way a cultural balance at the quarterback position. It turns out he wasn't that great, thats where over rated came in, but now they're still promoting him like he is that player that he was supposed to be coming out of college. The truth of the matter is that for the buck that the NFL backs him with promotion wise, his production on the field does not meet the off field buck, thus that is why i think people are even more turned off by Vick and his playing style. -

This refers to the argument that hockey players cannot be thugs like Ron Artest because i don't see hockey players struggling to break into the rap game.
-
I hate the English, but there women are definately worth taking hostage.
-
Yes, well, last i checked Maxim Afiniganov nor Daniel Briere have rap albums that sold 34 copies, thus they cannot be thugs.

Sometimes people just grow in different directions. It just happens. You'll find another QB, its a matter of time. I know it seems like Vince is the last, but that is just not true. There will be others. I tell you what, some day you will find a quarterback that just ignites your feelings more than you ever thought Vince could, and you'll see that i am right. I know it doesn't seem that way now, but he wasn't right for you anyway. I'm not going to let you sit here on your ass sulking over a dead beat douche like Vince Young. You are the person in the position of power now. You can either sit on your couch and mope about Vince, or you can go find a quarterback that will make your life even better. Hang in there buddy!
