PanchoBilla enters Hospice (Has now passed away)
John Gianelli replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
You've got it. I already suggested that the Bills hand out 73,000 luchador masks for the home opener. -
PanchoBilla enters Hospice (Has now passed away)
John Gianelli replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Every year in the Ride for Roswell I carry a list of people to pray for, who have or had cancer. This year, Pancho is at the top of my list. -
Who hates the Patriots** more than I do

Even my 94-year old mother said, "Why can't Brady just get an injury?" -
A GREAT WEEKEND FOR BUFFALO SPORTS FANS !!!

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Just Plain Bad
John Gianelli replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The offense is so bad, and we've given up so many scores by the opponents' defense, we would be better off if we did this whenever we gain possession of the ball: on first down, take a knee. on second down and third down let the clock bleed down as much as possible, and take a knee; on fourth down, punt the ball. Of course we could punt on first down, but this way takes more time off the clock to give our defense a little breather. -
First half: Wk 9 Bears at Bills, 1 pm FOX
John Gianelli replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we would be better off bleeding the clock and taking a knee on first, second and third down, and punting on fourth down. Then punt it away. Our defense has a better chance of scoring than our offense does. -
This: The combination of Tom Brady’s dominance and Buffalo Bills’ sustained struggles at the quarterback position has created a wild fact. Following the New England Patriots’ victory Monday night, Brady has now recorded more wins in Buffalo than any Bills quarterback since the 2001 season. Twitter Ads info and privacy According to Pro Football Reference, 18 different Bills quarterbacks have won a game at New Era Field during that span. Brady rules them all.

If you understood even a few words in Spanish, the Spanish broadcast on ESPN Deportes was tremendous. Sometimes you could tell just by the tone of voice and a few key words what the announcers were saying. "Doble Flea-Flicker!" The bi-lingual interview with Marv Levy was touching when at the end Marv said, "Gracias!" The Spanish-language commercials were pretty awesome, too. It actually made watching the game fun.

Long hair is not a strategic advantage
John Gianelli replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With so many players now sporting long hair, I think it's time we put the player's name below the numbers. -
Calling out a player's name and why.....

Should be obvious...Gianelli! I remember right after the trade, when we thought they would be good: "Flores to Powell!" -
Is your Dad the reason you’re a Bills fan?
John Gianelli replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watched a 1963 Bills-Patriots game on t.v. with him (I was 6) and I was hooked. He started treating me to a game a year at The Rockpile in 1968 (including the final Bills game there against the Lions) and Rich Stadium after that, and I was addicted. We still watched every Sunday afternoon game together last year (he was 95). He passed away last week. I have no idea how I will be watching Bills games this year. -
Bills flying the big bird again, to Miami
John Gianelli replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The plane actually took off at 12:50. Got there just in time to see it. There were a few other Bills fans, and plane nerds, in the parking lot across the street from the west end of the runway. Go Bills! -
Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread
John Gianelli replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all these complicated scenarios, has anyone mentioned this as a tie-breaker option? If a head-to-head comparison still results in a tie, the team who won the most recent game between them wins. If there were no head-to-head games, the team with the longest winning streak at the end of the season wins. That would reward teams that finish strong, akin to how the college football playoff teams get in. -
First segment of WGR morning show today
John Gianelli replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love when the WGR announcers say gems like, "I'm positive that it might be the most controversial quarterback situation in the league." -
Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.
John Gianelli replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad I looked here. WGR still doesn't have it on their website. -
Howard and Jeremy amateur hour
John Gianelli replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't agree more on #1. I've lived in the NYC, Boston, Washington and Philadelphia areas. The Instigators are as good as any locally produced show I've heard. If only we could find a Bills equivalent to The Instigators. Everybody else at WGR is expendable. '"what we thought they probably might be" sums up the inanity morning show. When "Mike & Mike" gets tedious (get tedious?) I wander over to WGR, but can only bear to listen for a few minutes. There's a caller Dale who had a good take this morning. Can anyone find him, and give him an audition? -
Cardale traded to chargers!!
John Gianelli replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry if this was posted, I didn't read all 18 pages of comments. Cardale cried "tears of joy" when he was traded. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cardale-jones-reportedly-cried-tears-145319640.html -
A caller on Jim Rome's Smack Off just blamed the Bills for the Kardashians. He claimed that if the Bills didn't stink back in the day, they wouldn't have been able to draft O.J. Simpson. He said O.J. met Nicole in Buffalo. If he hadn't met Nicole, he wouldn't have been accused of killing her and there would have been no trial. And we would have never been subjected to the Kardashians. Did O.J. meet Nicole in Buffalo? According to Biography, O.J. met Nicole in Beverly Hills at the Daisy Club. Didn't say anything about Buffalo.

I left the Notre Dame - Houston Cotton Bowl where Joe Montana led Notre Dame's greatest comeback. The girls I was with were cold, and the Houston fans were obnoxious, so we left. In the parking lot I heard a cheer, which was when Notre Dame blocked the punt. By the time we got back to where we were staying, we saw the last minute on t.v. NEVER. LEAVE. EARLY. is right. I learned my lesson, and never thought of leaving the Bills - Oilers game.
