  1. Haven't read the whole thread, but has anyone mentioned Home Run Throwback yet???
  2. Thanks. Now it makes more sense.
  3. Anyone remember Tom Ruud? 1st round draft choice in 1975. Tom Ruud played 5 seasons for the Bills and Bengals. He played but didn't record a tackle! I mentioned Ruud below. He was a 1st round pick. Played 5 years for the Bills and Bengals and didn't record a single tackle!
  4. I'm pretty sure we beat them in the 90s.
  5. He would be taking so many fewer late hits, and his receivers would be so much more free to run, that I bet he would excel.
  6. I think he'd hand off to Cookie Gilchrist, and it would look like a combination of Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley.
  7. Two rings. Need I say more? Two rings. Kemp had two rings. I doubt any of his teammates would have said that. Who built the foundation for what we're watching today. And, he brought Buffalo two championships.
  8. Good point, but were any of those USFL teams merged into the NFL? I haven't enjoyed such a good back-and-forth since debate club in 8th grade. Should I ask who the greatest Bills coach of all time is? You can guess my answer, Lou Saban. I don't think I'd get as much pushback on that.
  9. I hope you've had the experience of having the team you root for win the last game of their season. I have. It's better than saying your QB had great talent, or great stats.
  10. Good question. Kemp had a very strong arm, and could run. Tough as nails. Wasn't the most accurate passer. But a great leader. To whom would you compare him?
  11. We're the only team he played for that didn't win a Super Bowl, right? Kind of like Scotty Bowman winning a Stanley Cup with every team except the Sabres.
  12. Yes, his political career! He gave the commencement address at my high school graduation in 1975. I swear, at the end of it even the liberals were ready to vote for him.
  13. What matters is how much he put up on San Diego. Explain, please.
  14. I'll take that into consideration once he wins us a Super Bowl. And believe me, I hope he does, more than once.
  15. True. But how many other Bills quarterbacks won a championship, much less two?
  16. It's Jack Kemp. The frustration of the four Super Bowl losses and our inability to get back to the Super Bowl under Josh Allen have convinced me that the real sign of greatness is motivating your team to win the biggest game. Kemp led the Bills to two league championships in 1964 and 1965. He wasn't as gifted an athlete as Allen, and didn't rack up the stats like Kelly. But he knew how to motivate his team to win when it counted most. I watched the '65 game when I was 8 years old. I wish every Bills fan could know what it feels like to win it all.
  17. So darn accurate. One thing to add. Did you see Elam just standing there, flailing his arms as such on Mahomes' second touchdown? Really bad.
  18. A few years ago I started listening to BET QL's The Daily Tip in the morning on 1520. Michael Jenkins has a great sense of humor. Chelsa Messinger is the most knowledgeable and entertaining woman in sports broadcasting, by a long shot. They're witty, well informed, down to earth, and easy to listen to. And they talk about the Bills a lot.
  19. Was Josh injured in the 2nd half? Don't remember him throwing the ball deep even once.
  20. Anyone notice that in the '64 game we were rushing just three linemen most of the time--Dunaway, Sestak and McDole. Turned out to be quite effective.
  21. Thanks for that list. I hadn't seen it. I heard her say it in the 4th quarter. It didn't sound like she was kidding. Anybody else hear her say it?
