  1. Great article.. pieces like this should bne written more often. What better way to relate to today's athletes than to listen/see/read what they go through, when they've finally "made it".. Take an active interest in how they do once they get to the NFL.. I know I will. (Specially the lower draft picks and undrafted guys.) Here's hoping Oman, Viti and Fine make the club, and contribute well.
  2. Thanks, HR.. now at least I won't take an "0'fer" on Flames vs. 's Of course, if it were to ACTUALLY come up, I would hate it. I'm a pretty big fan of the games you don't see too often.. the out-of-conference matchups.. I hate seeing the MNF game being another friggin' Bears/Packers matchup.. /yawn Would much rather see a game that only happens once in a bluemoon.. i.e. Seahawks/Browns.. Saints/Chargers.. etc. etc. but, it WOULD give alot more emphesis on your divisional games.
  3. Ah yes, I forgot Duke.. love seeing them lose.
  4. Yeah, seems strange to find someone who is Anti-Bills, and not a fan of another AFCE team.. odd. As far as teams I always root against: Yankees, Patriots*, Ottawa Senators, Cowboys.. I used to really hate the Lakers, but it's been so long since the Knicks were worth a sh-- to watch, that I've become pretty numb to the goings on of the NBA. Oh, and I root for every NASCAR driver to crash.. I really wanna see a 43 car pile-up, where the lead story for Sportscenter that night is, "No winner at the Redneck 500!"
  5. 1. Totally agree with the rookie salary cap.. these guys make way too much. 2. I'd change the current scheduling format: play each divisional opponet 3 times a year (for instance, the Bills would be AT the Jets twice this year, but the Jets would have to come to Buffalo twice the following year, and so on..) and the other 7 games would be played against the team from each other division that came in the place you finished in YOUR division from the previous season. I know it seems a little radical, but I didn't wanna throw up the same ole cookie-cutter responses. So, a new schedule might look like this for Buffalo in 2008: 1. AT Jets 2. vs. Miami 3. vs. NYG -- 2nd place NFCE 4. AT Cleveland -- 2nd place AFCN 5. vs. Jets 6. AT Pats* 7. vs. Minnesota -- 2nd place NFCN 8. vs. Arizona -- 2nd place NFCW 9. BYE 10. AT Jets 11. AT Miami 12. vs. Carolina -- 2nd place NFCS 13. vs. Pats* 14. vs. Miami 15. AT Denver -- 2nd place AFCW 16. AT Jacksonville -- 2nd place AFCW 17. AT Pats* Obviously, this is gonna give certain teams an advantage in some years, having more home divisional games than others.. I haven't exactly worked all the kinks out of this.. it just sorta popped into my head as I was reading the thread.
  6. I got 15.. missed Bruce, Entman, Vick, M. Williams and Russel.. guess I was too busy trying to think of the older ones, and forgot about those last 3..

  8. No sh*t!! The Bengals FO should have screamed, "YES!", as soon as they heard the words, "We'll give you a 1st and..." Dumbasses. Do they really think Chad's perceived value is going to get any higher? Espcially AFTER the draft.. the three teams involved in negotiations for Johnson (Phili, Washington and Dallas) could quite possibly all draft WRs in the 1st rd.
  9. So, you believe that two WR's are going in the 1st rd., and neither one is named Malcolm Kelly? That's either an oversight on your part.. or your just ballsy.
  10. I'm sure that's his automated response whenever someone asks him about draft choices.. to keep the riff-raff from arguing with him. Heh.
  11. 1. Adrian Peterson - Minnesota Vikings 2. Patrick Willis - San Francisco 49ers 3. Brady Quinn - Cleveland Browns 4. Amobi Okoye - Atlanta Falcons 5. Ted Ginn, Jr - St. Louis Rams
  12. Hmm, the guy in the photo is Joe DeLuca.. is that who I think it is?
  13. 1. NHL Playoffs (Go Sabres!) 2. NFL Draft 3. MLB Opening Day (Go Mets!) 4. NCAA Basketball (Considering my Bracket was a TOTAL bust) 5. Watching paint dry 6. NBA Basketball
  14. I like the idea of giving them a 3rd this year and then a 3rd next year.. in essence it would be like trading McGahee for Turner.
  15. I dunno.. I would think that your average NFL Europe team could beat the upper echelon D1 football teams a good 6 or 7 out of 10 times. We're talking Ohio St., USC, Oklahoma, Florida and the Texas' of the world... maybe not.
  16. How about "Burninator" in honor of your avatar? Say, "Hi." to 'Da Cheat' when ya see him for me, Ric.
  17. Agreed.. but, at the sime time, I don't want the Bills using a 1st rd. pick on a RB when they don't know what the have in Fred Jackson, either.. by all accounts, the kid tore up NFL Europe, and I'd have to assume that the talent level in NFLE is still higher than that of Division I NCAAFB, although not by much. I'm hoping for Willis or Okoye in the 1st round, and if "The Brass" feel a need to draft a RB on day one, I'd like to see them swap "Balt's 3rd" and "Our 4th" to move back into the late 2nd round, and grab Brian Leonard/RB/Rutgers (Or pray that he's lasts til "Our 3rd".. which I don't see happening.) It fills a need at FB, and the kid could turn into a bonafide tailback, if needed. That leaves our 2nd rounder to grab the best CB available. So, on day one, you've gotten a MLB or DT, CB and FB (Plan B, RB) , and still our 3rd rounder to use. Just an idea. Flame away.
  18. Jeff Posey, Eddie Robinson, Brian Bosworth, Andy Katzenmoyer..
  19. Anyone ever heard of a guy named Cris Carter? He'd be in my top 5. Course, I'm only 33.. so never got to see anyone pre-80's play all that much.
  20. Seems to me, that there are 4 RB spots on the team: 1. Featured Back 2. Back-up Feature Back 3. Fullback 4. 3rd down / Receiving Back Considering that the Bills apparently are going to be drafting a RB on day one of the draft, you would have to assume that at the very least, that player will occupy the #2 RB spot.. and it's looking like we'll be acquiring a FA back to be the #1 guy.. whther that's Dillon, Brown or whomever.. So that leaves Shaud Williams as the 3rd Down back type RB.. anyone think A-Train is going to be the FB this year? Not I. Just seems to be fewer and fewer options on the roster for him. Was thinking Shaud was signed ahead of A-Train, for his ST contributions. (I can't recall if AT played St, at all.) Besides.. it's just Anthony Thomas.. not as though he'd be real difficult to replace. In Marv We Trust.
