My Uncle Mark was laid off for a month last winter, so he and my dad spent a month finishing half of his basement. (Went from bare cinderblock to paneling/insulated walls.) The amenities: - 55" Flat Screen (Bills Game) - 42" Flat Screen (DTV, split screen to watch the 4 most appealing games that AREN'T the Bills.. watch alot of the RedZone channel, too.) - Pool Table - Bar - Heat (We used to watch the game in a pole barn, until it got too cold to hang out there) - Surround Sound (Very nice when we blast the Bills Shout! song after every touchdown) - Buffet Table/Station (We generally alternate weeks on whomever is going to bring the goodies) - Indoor plumbing (No more going outside to take a leak in Dec when it's 15 degrees outside! WOOT!) In the next year or so there will be a fireplace, so I am told. We generally have 6-8 folks over every Sunday.. all family.. all in the same fantasy league. Ever since we started doing this (4-5 years ago) my desire to attend a Bills game in person has dwindled to nearly non-existant.

I recall Plaxico Burress catching a pass in his rookie year in Pittsburgh.. 15-20 yards.. crossing pattern.. and had to dive to make the catch. He was so excited to make the catch, he sprung to his feet and spiked the ball. Guess he forgot he wasn't in college anymore, and wasn't ruled down after falling to the ground. Guess what? It was ruled a fumble. 1st down, defensive team.

I don't expect to win every game this year.. I do, however, expect the motherf^*@)ing referees to make blantantly obvious calls.. and they couldn't even do that after a replay. Piss poor officiating today. - No Pass Interference on the long pass down the right sideline to Jackson. - Ridiculous freaking Tuck Rule. (I know that one isn't the refs fault. In my opinion, anytime the QB doesn't release the ball off his own accord/control, regarless of whether his hand is going foward or not, it's a fumble. At least that's the way I'd like to see the rules for QB fumbles/Inc. Passes) - Obviously the screw-job we took on Stevie's Catch. I'm sure I could think of more, but I'm way too worked up to think straight. On a side note. This team still needs a real Nose Tackle.

Well, in keeping with the theme that the offense has going with over-achievers, cast-offs and UFA.. How about Cameron Wake? Dude got his shot in the CFL before the Dolphins grabbed him in the Supp. Draft.

I dunno.. I'm pretty happy, hating him, right now.

I can't think of two better teams to open the season with to show what kind of improvements we've made to our front 7, with respect to the running game than KC and Oak.. well, and at least have them be winnable games, anyways.

Carrington and Easley were the first two I thought of right off the bat, but since I like throw names out there that no one else has mentioned.. I think both George Wilson and Byrd are going to be the recipients of some awfully poor throws from opposing QBs, thanks to our improved front 7.
