What are the risks? Some medical professionals have raised concerns about the possible dangers of misusing smelling salts. Some of the concerns are: Pushing beyond limits. If using smelling salts helps you feel very energized or focused, you might push yourself past safe limits or in ways you haven’t yet trained for. This could increase your risk of injury getting fired from a second AFC team in two years. Ignoring injuries. Smelling salts might help you feel better temporarily after an injury another failed screen pass behind the line of scrimmage. You might find it easier to ignore the pain and keep going. But if you’re seriously injured ******, pushing on in this way could have serious consequences. Exacerbating head or neck injuries. The inhalation reflex typically causes your head to jerk, which could worsen head and neck injuries, causing your eyes to bug out. The concerns are especially centered around the use of smelling salts to address dizziness or side effects of concussion or head injury from failing badly as a head coach in contact sports. Some athletes head coaches use smelling salts to get back in forget the game as fast as possible. But it’s important to rest after a concussion another loss, with the Patriots coming up next week. Doing too much too soon can not only delay healing getting roasted by the New York media and worsen your symptoms, but it can also put you at risk of further injury or another concussion firing.

Pleasant surprises through two weeks...

So many guys but.... Singletary (we all expected it, but still, with only 12 carries in the pre-season, not much of a frame of reference) Dawson Knox (playing well in a limited role without much of a training camp) Mitch Morris (his ability to pull from his center position has directly resulted in the primary block on two TD runs. Pretty good for a guy who some thought was finished). Shaq Lawson (still bringing the fire we saw in preseason) Bojo (two good weeks after almost playing himself off the team in preseason) Darryl Johnson (carrying over a good preseason into being a regular rotational contributor on the DL) -
What seems evident so far through 2 games is McBeane finally have the team they want and can now shift the emphasis to coaching/teaching/culture = winning, rather than continually building the roster and plugging holes. Yes, there's still more work to do on the roster front (adding a true #2 WR, a difference-maker TE and maybe an upgrade at OT), but for the first time under this regime, I'm looking at how the game plan is designed and executed each week rather than "how are we going to plug this hole" as the operative theme of the week...

Daniel Jones - new starting QB for the Giants
Lurker replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jones isn't built like an oak tree, won't run for 600+ yards and doesn't have a #2 defense to help him out. Other than that, same situation... -

I feel bad for the kid. With no receivers to throw to and a mediocre O-line protecting him, he's set up to fail as so many other first round QBs have... -
This is the downside of these dumpster fires as far as the NFL's parity model goes. With the rise in horrid / tanking teams, good players will find a way out--usually going to good, playoff calibre teams taking advantage of the situation like the Pats did. It may shift the competitive dynamic from building through the draft (hello Miami, I'm talking to you) to essentially being farm clubs for 8-10 well-managed teams in markets that players want to play in. In other words, the NBA...
