Fitzpatrick says his favorite NFL city is ... Buffalo
Lurker replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I listened to Shefty's podcast and Ryan was great. The bit about his seven kids being born in seven different states really gives you perspective on the life he's led as an NFL OB. Great guy, who clearly has a bright future after football... -
How much brown-nosing do you do at work (if any)?
Lurker replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
These days, the only living thing I can brown nose is my cat, as I'm working alone from home. And he respects my work, since he won't get fed if he doesn't. As to people on the other end of the email or phone--nothing's changed. I'm the point-of-contact expert for what I do. And I don't have to play games or BN to get things done... -
Less guessing by Edmunds and more "read and react" would go a long way toward fixing that integrity. He took himself out of plays, way, way, way too many times Sunday...

I disagree that its the end of his era. Too soon for that, given what he does against every team not named the Chiefs. What I do agree with is that Roman's offensive scheme is a dead end. It's not flexible enough and can't come back from multi-point deficits, as the MNF team pointed out many times. It's too focused on the TEs and the middle of the field, which KC took away last night. It's a one-read, gun it-or-run it system, rather than the smorgasbord of options Mahones has at his disposal. Maybe its designed that way due to Jackson's (in)ability to quickly process like Mahones. But I'm not willing to make that call yet. The other thing is that while Hollywood Brown is a great WR, he appears to be somewhat straight-linish and perhaps limited in the routes he excells at. Hence, a predictable offense that wins through physicality rather than scheme. Harbaugh needs to tear it up and get some weapons to increase Jackson's options. A RB like Edwards-Helaire would have been a perfect fit for that, IMO. Just as Josh has blossomed with more weapons, Jackson could too if the Ravens would get over their fixation with "power forward" football and go with what the NFL has become today...speed, creativity and having more weapons than the defense can account for...

I think he's even better than Russ and Aaron. He's looking at things in slow motion, it's really uncanny... -

Mahones has the best vision of any QB in the league right now. Not even close... -

Game over. No way BALT's old fashion offense can keep up with this... -
The problem seems to be that the refs called it "pass interference," when in fact, it was illegal contact. So Woods is right, it wasn't PI. But it was still a penalty...

Good post. McD's scheme, IMO, is to force teams to make long drives by disguising coverages, keeping the safeties deeper and forcing everything to be in front of them, taking away the long throws. It plays the odds--that the more plays the opponent runs, the more likely they are to have a breakdown/penalty stop the drive. And it seems to work with this safety tandem because they can cover so much ground, yet still be effective in run support. It's the same argument why our CBs are less apt to get INTs. It's like throwing a blanket over the passing game, rather than relying on tight man coverage that can look great when it works, but has a lower probability of success the more throws it has to defend...

FMIA W Peter King lead is about Josh Allen ppl
Lurker replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the limits on training camp this year, conditioning is indeed a factor. Especially in-season, when they really only "practice" on Wednesdays and Thursdays. That said, giving up 29 unanswered points in 20 minutes to ANY NFL team is not just conditioning or momentum, IMO... -

The Bills didn't have to give up 29 unanswered points after that INT. Momentum shifts with 20 minutes to play aren't permanent... -

Both were controversial. But only one decided the game (almost unequivocally--Josh stil had to make the Kroft throw)... -

Unpopular take here...Tre is playing very meh
Lurker replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zone defenses can look really bad against the Rams. It seemed like Tre was playing off the WRs the whole game, which is tough against guys like Kupp and Woods. Still, his run support was nothing to write home about either, so.... -
Gabriel Davis on the 4th and 9 late PI call
Lurker replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. He seems wise beyond his years. He's a great addition to the team and I think we'll see a lot more 4-WR until other teams show they can handle it... -
Just give it to him...
