  1. Question for the board: Which would you rather have--Dobbins or Clyde Edwards-Helaire? I've not spent much time looking at Dobbins, but I'd love if we got Edwards-Helaire...
  2. Wegman's in Hamburg at 5:45 am today (I wonder how their TP aisle looks now): https://buffalonews.com/2020/03/14/i-went-to-wegmans-at-547-a-m-saturday-oh-my-god/
  3. Good choice for spokesman. Right now, Ed's probably held in higher esteem in the deep south than God Almighty...
  4. Sign of the times. This was today at the Surfine supermarket in Eden. Guess which aisle and win a cupie doll... Not as bad as these folks, however: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/education/2020/03/10/coronavirus-australia-family-buys-12-year-supply-toilet-paper/4985534002/
  5. Wrong? OK, Nostradamus. You win. I can refute every one of your points with just as much "right," but that would be a waste of my time. Especially the "no regression" one, which the NFL routinely makes happen once more game film is available. The proof will be in the W-L column. But "flat out wrong". GMAB...
  6. Take 2. Much better for Higgins. Very interesting... (not any better for Lamb and Jeudy)
  7. I did some quick back of the envelop calcualtions using the combine data and Football Outsiders "speed score" formula and came up with this: Lamb and Jeudy's score was somewhat surprising as well.
  8. I can think of half a dozen reasons, but have fun getting your expectations up...
  9. Can you post the speed score list? Asking for a friend...
  10. Personally, any talk of Super Bowl in the next two years--with the roster as configured right now--seems unrealistic. We still don't know what we have at QB. Our TE room is mostly potential, rather than known quantity. Our running game relys on one undersized RB, with no backup. We have big holes at DE, LB, CB2. And the team was injury free at a historic rate in 2019, suggesting the odds might revert back to the mean going forward. Can Beane plug most of those holes, hope the team stays healthy and suffer no regression in current player performance at the same time? That's a mighty, mighty lift, IMO. Its nice to dream, but making the playoffs and winning a game is the most realistic outcome I'm holding out for right now...
  11. That question needs to be re-phrased as "would you sign A.J. Green or Trent Williams at [fill in blank] million dollars for [fill in blank] years?..."

  13. I like your list. It certainly priortizes the Higgins debate, even though I will be disappointed if scenario 5 is what ultimately takes place.
  14. Drafting for need? Personally, I want the best player available, whether that's a WR, edge, DB, OL, etc. Drafting for need gets you E.J. Manuel, J.P Losman, Aaron Maybin, Shaq Lawson...
  15. Wow! That's a whole different story than the unofficial numbers yesterday...
  16. Yes. Since Brown's really a WR2 and Beasley's a WR3, a true WR1 would have helped enormously. We can all debate about who's the best pick for that WR1 job, but not about the need to fill it...
  17. Could all the throws to Duke just as easily be a byproduct of Houston game planning to take away Brown and Beasley (know quantities) and gambling that an unknown like Williams wouldn't be a difference maker? Which, ultimately, was the correct assumption. IMO, Josh threw a lot of balls to Duke because his two primary receivers were most often covered, not necessarily because he was a 'big body'...
  18. Well, using Beane's benchmark of Tyreek Hill as an example, how often is Hill open or making contested catches? Even NFL DBs are going to have problems with a 4.27 guy. That said, I do have some concerns with Ruggs' footwork in getting off the line right now. He has some things to work on, but his ceiling is certainly "going for it" worthy, IMO...
  19. Ah, but is he the 22nd best player available in this draft? Or the 30th? Or the 40th? Every one of the top 50 draft candidates is a stud. But if for example, the Bills have to choose between Higgins and Chaisson (or [fill in the blank]) at pick #22, a call has to be made as to which guy provides better value. Personally, that's all this argument is about to me...
  20. I think Ruggs may be the guy. Beane has talked about having a Tyreek Hill-type player that can score on any given play. That might also describe Lamb (but not Jeudy), but I see Ruggs as the kind of wildcard option that Daboll loves so much...
  21. Translating "going for it": Trade up for Ruggs...
  22. My take is there are two contingents on TSW: One who see him as the 4th best WR in this class and want to use pick #22 to get him, no matter what. And a second group who think picking him at #22 would be a reach/over-drafting based on need rather than best player available at that slot. There may even be a third group, who just don't like him as a player or fit for the Bills. Or a fourth, made up of Clemson fanboys who say he's the best thing since sliced bread. So many opinions, so little time...
