  1. Good. It'll keep his next contract demands from rising even higher....
  2. Where are you getting chronic from? And the malcontent thing is a media snowball, IMO. No chance he gets cut. Because after this year he's a FA and the Ravens will get nothing for him other than a 2012 compensitory pick. They've got their OLT in Oher and aren't going to pay two guys LT money. For the same reason nobody likes earning 0.2% on their savings account. Gaither is an asset that can be leveraged into a higher return by getting a player or draft choice that can potentially play for the Ravens for many years. Ozzie's not just going to throw away that opportunity. OTA's are guys running around in their underware. I'm sure Whaley's watched film of every play he's had over the past two years, if the Bills truely are interested in him.
  3. A WGR listener, TSW poster for sure...
  4. Not a chance they'll cut him at a 2010 salary of $2.3 million...
  5. R.I.P. (stay classy, Rico...)
  6. Based on the Raven's drafting success, getting a high pick in 2011 would be more valuable...especially if it turns into a 5-10 year starter.
  7. A 3rd-4th round comp pick in the 2012 draft isn't nearly as much compensation as the Bills #2 (probably pick 35-40) in 2011. Ozzie's pragmatic enough to see that, I'm sure, and Buddy's a shrewd enough poker player to know that's as good an offer as the Raven's are likely to get.
  8. Buddy strikes me as a pretty good poker player. I doubt he'd over-pay on the first offer. Similarly, Newsome's a good GM who'll hold out for the best deal he can make. But ultimately, he's also pragmatic enough to know that getting something for an asset that'll walk away for nothing next year is the way to go. Round 1 may be a stalemate, but this has a long way to go before someone blinks...
  9. "Don't stop him, he's on a role..."
  10. What the hell does that post even mean?
  11. Yep, thanks for sharing...
  12. Lots of time before SJF to get something done...
  13. Funny idea, but I can't see Tiger's lawyers letting it get very far down the fairway...
  14. Or the fact that Buffalo just had the warmest March and April in 65 years...
  15. Agreed. Buddy will just move on if Rosenhaus plays hardball...
  16. These are the threads that make TSW a 'must read' MB...
  17. A little CYA, perhaps, on the agreement being imminent? http://www.thebillsbeat.com/Buffalo_Bills_...aspx?article=41
  18. Perhaps that's were the author was when he wrote the article...
  19. Perhaps Buddy let the teams that drafted OT in the first round take themselves out of the running for Gaither, lessening the competition for his services...
  20. Didn't we have this same thread before the draft? The responses will undoubtedly be the same as well. Oh well, it's better than an announcer draft...
  21. Yep, it's sure gonna be an eye-opener for the southern guys. Maybe they'll demand more hardship pay during contract negotiations...
  22. The 6" distance between the QBs ears is more important than throwing motion, IMO. I seem to recall quite a few first round busts who could throw beautiful 60-yrds spirals from their knees when wearing shorts...
  23. The callers to that show were a lot more knowlegeable & interesting than what 'GR gets today...which is anybody with a pulse, since beggers can't be choosers (not unlike TSW in the late-1990s vs. today). Throw in about 3 segments a night with national guests arranged by an actual, honest to God PRODUCER, and you get quality entertainment beyond just MNQB, and not just in the SB years. That kind of programming costs money, however, which is the last thing national media conglomerates want to spend today. After all, "research" shows that people will listen to anything, so why spend more for quality...
  24. Sheep, maybe. But dogs? I just don't get it...
