They solidified the middle of the defense (DT/ILB/NB/SS) with the top 4 picks--the gaping hole that so many teams easily ran right through last year. Strength up the middle gives them a lot more options in terms of scheme, situational play calls, etc.

Patrick Peterson had 7 INTs for his entire career and many think he's the best player in this draft. Teams look more at skill set and versatility than pickoffs...

That applies to virtually every position on the team. With Florence and Youboty FAs, McGee getting older/busted up, and McKelvin's lack of instincts/boneheadedness, this pick makes good sense. They only have five corners on the team and likely 1-2 will walk...

I'll take the backups the Bills signed (Rinehart, Wrotto, even Pears) over those guys. Incognito's shown everything he's ever going to and can only get worse, not better. The Bills young OL aren't Pro Bowl players either, but appear to have some upside and can hold the fort until better reinforcements arrive.
