  1. Maybe Crazy Al will cut him later today to get under he cap limit....
  2. Agreed. The shambles TD left prompted Ralph to reach out to his comfort zone (i.e., Marv) for help. The problem came when Marv decided he was the best man for the GM job. That hubris set the team back another four years.
  3. Lori also would like to be paid above the poverty level, I suspect...
  4. Sal should move out of his mom's basement and get a real job...
  5. Like the Blue's, not so much the White's...
  6. Nah. I've got a better idea...
  7. So if they miss 50%-60% of the action, due to the limited vantage point of the network feed, their grades are useful? Adding a supposed degree of precision to an imprecise data set doesn't make their conclusions very valid, IMO. Then again, guys like Kiper and Scouts Inc. make a living at sounding knowlegeable in virtually the same way.
  8. So, what's your point? The scouting staffs' job typically is done when the draft boards are finalized. Nix was brought in to be another set of eyes and ears for Tom Modrak. Pinning the Maybin pick on him is a reach.
  9. Buddy was just a scout when Maybin was drafted.
  10. Just a few days ago, this thread could have been titled "another year, another bad LB group." I still think Buddy is going to bolster the RT position by openning day or he wouldn't have pursued Claybo...
  11. She was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury? What the hell injury risk is there? That his 14-year old pecker might fall off from too much use...
  12. Network feeds capture maybe 40% of the actual play, at best. They're focused on entertainment rather than analytical value, which is what the coaches game film allows and why it is so closely guarded. If these guys think breaking down network telecasts give them a true ability to grade players, God love 'em. But IMO, doing it their way is akin to having sex with a blowup doll...
  13. From the standpoint that Guaghan has regular access to the team that you, I or the blogger in question doesn't, then yes. To make it out as a valid "article" just because it can be linked to another webpage is silly...
  14. That's not an article...it's a blog. Which puts it on he same level as TSW and other MB rantings...
  15. Give it an Xbox and it would stop thinking too...
  16. And the big offer to Claybo means what? That Buddy's content with the guys on the roster now? He didn't just get confident in Pears et al when Tyson said no thanks...
  17. With all the veteran OL cuts coming out of other teams, it's a bit premature to say that. My guess is Buddy plans to fill the RT position with a cap casualty by openning day.
  18. I love it when people say "hold the Bills accountable," like they were elected officials or something.
  19. These are the jamokes who think they can grade players by watching network feeds: "We use TV broadcasts for both the analysis and the player participation data. We’ve been asked a lot how therefore is it possible to determine who was on the field in every position through TV pictures. Surely that just isn’t possible? Well, just because something is not easy doesn’t mean it is impossible. Firstly, the high definition picture from which we work is excellent, and that gives us the best starting point outside of coaches’ film, which isn’t attainable outside of NFL offices." Garbage video in, garbage "analysis" out. I'd be highly learly of going by anything these jokers produce...
  20. I was afraid there was going to b a picture...
  21. Sadly, it should always have been "Ralph is clueless" rather than "cheap." His inability to hire GMs from outside the organization has been the one constant in the 50 years. Polian and Butler were guys he lucked into rather than ones he targeted and brought into the organization to increase the talent mix. The good news is that Nix falls into the same category, so I remain optimistic that Buddy's 3-year plan will work out.
  22. Yeah, Sully's the master of the obvious. Always opinionated, never knowledegable. Take the buyout, Jer'....
  23. They're on record as saying they'll only close about one-third of the 100 offices, so the fallout shouldn't be too bad. But finding buyers for the other 70--and navigating them through the transition to yet another owner--will be challenging.
  24. Good summation. With few LB options available, Nix filled a hole with a capable vet at a resonable price. As a bonus, Sheppard can have time to develop, rather than being tossed to the Lions out of necessity.
