  1. No, I never "revered" Paterno. But to cavalierly say it doesn't bother you he's dead tells me all I need to know about you.... Click. This place is beneath contempt. Scott must be so proud...
  2. It never ceases to amaze me what people will "say" ensconced in the safe anonymity of an Internet connection...
  3. My attitude is that if you're a paying customer of Pegulavile, step right up and B word to management. If you aren't, and don't spend a dime on the product, STFU. The sense that the Sabres are a public utility--and the outrage pouring forth over the team's failings--is getting ridiculous. Then again, as Antonin Scalia just said about unlimited political advertising, "don't like it, turn off the TV..."
  4. Leadership is what we call it when we get lucky and like the results. Management is what we call it when we don't. Self-delusion is involoved in both instances...
  5. Bupkis. This team has enough holes at enough positions that any quality player deserving of the 10th pick would be an upgrade of significant proportions. The Bills' problem has been picking guys that are difference makers. A top-flight LB is a needed addition as much as a WR, DE, OT, CB, TE, DT, OG, SS, QB... For a guy with seven games under his belt, I was impressed with his play. With some good coaching, he looks like he could be an effective player.
  6. James Lofton was heavily considered for a job a few years back as well...
  7. Too much whine, not enough cheese...
  8. You don't like the product, buy the team and fix it yourself...
  9. No way. Human falibility is part of the game (let me repeat that, GAME) and the push to increasingly make the NFL a version of Madden without the joystick is a drag...
  10. Agreed. You could review almost every play after a game and find some kind of subjective penalty. Whether or not the TE's a foot behind the LOS, it didn't effect the play, so bubkis on the second guessing... Put a sock in it...
  11. Bucky seems to need an older mentor (Kelley, Sully) to emulate, so no surpise he's channeling Sullivan. I wonder if he could see the irony in his line, "So long as Ralph Wilson owns the team, the Bills will have a reputation for refusing to pay for top players." if he applied it to Warren Buffett...
  12. Actually, I was more impressed with Hightower, who seemed more disruptive somehow (not that they didn't both have teriffic games). Anyone know where Hightower would be rated if (when) he decides to come out?
  13. Accountability is not the same thing as being "thrown under a bus." Man up and take criticism like a professional, Lil' Donte...
  14. That's the secret to his longevity. Short memories and even shorter attention spans...
  15. Ralph's daughter was by no means "calling the shots". She was doing low-level scouting (Pat Williams was he most notable "find") and had limited sway in the war room. While it didn't help Polian's cause to call her a "rhymes-with-runt" and disrespect her in front of the old man, it was battles over player contracts with Littmann that got him the boot...
  16. No he didn't. The year-end debrief was always at the Michigan offices, even before the Polian/Butler era...
  17. Yes, it helps to have some historical perspective... Add Will Wolford to the list...
  18. He talks way too much for my taste. Not sure why today's broadcasters seem to think the time between plays is more important than the play itself, except for insessant narcissism or a feeling that viewers are too dumb to make their own analysis...
  19. Too bad so many can't get over Mort's continuing employment...
  20. The douche even even looks like Sully after a few hormone treatments! Too many of these clowns think they're part of the circus, when in fact they're just the guy with the broom...
  21. If it were that simple, every GM with a HOF QB would be a genius. So, which GMs with these modern era QBs would be head and shoulders above Polian?
  22. In a mediocre world where a three-decade .550 to .600 winning percentage and a few championships gets you in the HOF, that's a pretty weak argument, IMO. 0.727 winning percentage over the 11 years prior to this season. I suspect Paul Brown, George Halas, Art Rooney or current GMs like Ozzie Newsome, Micky Loomis, etc. would be considered "good but not great" by a large swath of TSW because they picked their spots...
  23. ...for not using the ignore user feature...
  24. Yeah, you should probably bring that up in a few years when he gets a gold sportcoat...
