  2. Sort of like this thread....
  3. I just hope the Bills confisgated Mario's cell phone. The longer this delay goes on, the more I keep thinking of Meacham and SD...

  12. That just sounds like bupkis talking head speak. Just as many teams could say, "OK, the price is established. We'll match it."
  13. It's the Post, that's what they do. Ignore them and don't put downward pressure on your IQ...

  15. It doesn't happen often, but I agree with you on this one. Hightower seems to have the "it factor" the Bills have lacked for a long, long, loooong time. Love to have him somehow, someway...
  16. Not to me. The phrase "youth is wasted on the young" comes to mind. Joe D's point is the same one Cookie Gilchrist made for many years. Before the TV money became so huge, most NFL players earned the equivalent of a "normal" working stiff income compressed into a shorter time period rather than spread out over 40 years. Not surprising, with inflation being what it is, that many guys are far from livin' la vida loca...
  17. Agreed. This story has been written many times over the years and it's a shame a guy as talented as Tim has to regurgitate it.
  18. "He pleaded with the current front office to draft Clay Matthews Jr. and Ben Roethlisberger, to no avail." Something wacky about this statement--both guys were drafted before Nix became GM on December 31, 2009. And I assume the Matthews' he's talking about is "III," not Junior (who Joe D actually played with during his own career).
  19. "I had nothing to say and I said it." While that may apply to the current generation of columnists at the News, it never characterized Felser's writing, which was based on actual hard work and contact with the people he covered. The same could be said for columnists like Jim Kelley, Phil Ranallo, Dick Johnson, etc. Have a great retirement, Larry. I'll miss your Opinionated Days... AFL Contributors
