  1. Yeah, that was a real good call on Landre's part. Which is why all these draft guides are good for is one thing--giving you some names to pick from and then go out and look at yourself with the limited amount of video we have available to us as fans...
  2. Even more than Donahoe, I've been thinking that Modrak was the cause of the clusterfluck drafting we suffered through during those dark days. TD wasn't a personnel guy (more like fantasy football geek) and relied on Modrak's board and evaluations to our detriment. I'll never forget a comment Donahoe made when we drafted Mike Williams--that he'd never interviewed him prior to the pick! Garbage in, garbage out...
  3. Chan's remarks when Hairston was drafted Then, there's this gem from Russ Landre
  4. Was he driving Ralph's golf cart at the time?
  5. I'm taking it you're not an economics major... (oops! Looks like I'm a day late and a dollar short on that one. Sigh....)
  6. Civility and buggy whips--I wonder which will come back in style first....
  7. Like Marv used to say: "Develop a reputation for being an early riser and you can sleep until noon..."
  8. So, Hairston (a lesser prospect, drafted as a pure RT) has success in your eyes as a rookie, but it's a lot to ask of Glenn duplicating--and hopefully improving on--that performance?? I don't get it...
  9. As a marketing guy, I'm sure Brandon's still heartbroken about Wang blowing his shot...
  10. Nelson's a posession slot guy and Martin's a future insurance salesman...
  11. Bears UDFA. Level of competition is becoming a bigger and bigger factor in the "win now" NFL, which makes Buddy's SEC-centric strategy ahead of the game, IMO...
  12. That doesn't auger well for making the NFL jump then. The kid's head is going to be exploding at SJF...
  13. What a stupid grade for "needs." The Bills draft may have been the most focused on filling specific needs (as outlined by Buddy prior to the draft) as any team. Obviously Mel didn't come up for air much to look at the Bills in his film study...
  14. Powell's "negative" according to PWF is "could stand to get in better shape." WTH does that mean for a punter? Yeah, he's an intriguing prospect that may pose the best challenge to Moorman we've seen in a while, which I suspect will have Brian working hard this offseason. Good...
  15. Weekend at Bernies! Whoo Hooo, Chan's on to something here...
  16. Well, they do have some hot cheerleaders in those conferences. And the scenery's nice in the western states...
  17. Yeah, they'll be a great calming influence on the kid...
  18. It's going to be really tough for UDFA's to make this team, now that we're building some depth. A big WR is about the only spot I can see with an opening, and even that goes away if Easley has a good camp...
  19. Yeah. Sure... Igor: Dr. Frankenstein... Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: "Fronkensteen." Igor: You're putting me on. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, it's pronounced "Fronkensteen." Igor: Do you also say "Froaderick"? Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No... "Frederick." Igor: Well, why isn't it "Froaderick Fronkensteen"? Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: It isn't; it's "Frederick Fronkensteen." Igor: I see. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: You must be Igor. [He pronounces it ee-gor] Igor: No, it's pronounced "eye-gor." Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: But they told me it was "ee-gor." Igor: Well, they were wrong then, weren't they?
  20. A healthy O-line gives them the ability to run AND pass. They became more one-dimensional after all the injuries and line shuffling forced Chan to go to the short passing game. Now that we've improved the line depth, I expect a more balanced gameplan, especially with an upgraded defense that will likely get more stops and give the ball back to the offense a few more times per game...
  21. '60s Packers It's a frozen tundra thing...
  22. How is that a comparison!? A dink and dunk QB with a 5-12 career record in 17 starts? Where Gilbran playing these days...
  23. In Buddy's presser, he said if Potter can kick it out of the endzone on every attempt, he'll make the team strictly as a kickoff guy. From the looks of the video posted above, he can certainly have a strong chance to do that...
