  1. Impressive read. He seems to have the experience and intangibles that have been the missing ingredient in the last few hires...
  2. Agreed. If anything, it's an anti-marketing hire--which gives me hope that Brandon is indeed disengaged from Ralph's orbit and is confident that Marrone's the right guy. I liked the Youtube video on his introduction to the SU fans a few posters have linked. You have to go all the way back to Greggo to get a HC with something of a fiery personality at OBD--enough of the somnolent bystander types. Also the fact that he ran a pro offense at SU, rather than a gimicky college spread scheme (that I have doubts about working in the NFL). His NFL pedegree should give him good connections to build a staff, and the fact the Bills made the decision now gives him time to start filling it out (unlike the Chan hiring, which was very late and left the cupboard bare for good candidates). Looking forward to the presser...
  3. And the same old problem. The only positve yards come from cut backs from where the play was blocked. No push, no running lanes...
  4. Jets, 24-13...
  5. http://buffalonews.com/article/20120907/SPORTS/120909663/1004 "Ryan later said he was mistaken on Pouha's status when he rulled him unavailable." Mind games and dis-information...we'll see Sunday.
  6. A lot of veteran 'Wallers appear to be posting less or have boogied altogether. It's the Justin Bieber-iztion of football talk in general and TSW postings in particular...
  7. We're Number 3! We're Number 3! Small consolation if an injury during the game shortens a career...
  8. Could you clarify what made you mad? That the Browns picked him up, or that he wasn't good enough to crack a mediocre LB corps here?
  9. Slow, bad angles, inability to cover backs, lack of explosiveness on contact. Yeah, it's a feeling alright...
  10. Agreed. Bradham wasn't much better, which is really disapointing. I hope they're scanning the waiver wire as the LB group is a real liability right now...
  11. All that needs to be said...
  12. Where's the "shakes head...wonders where all these people come from" emoticon...
  13. Agreed. Ask Thurman about how effective it was to run out of passing formations...
  14. I've always contended that Norwood had so much adreniline flowing that he overpowered the kick--so much so that it never hooked back between the uprights (but simply flew like a canonball, straight and true). It would have been good from 50+ yards in terms of distance...
  15. Not by a long shot. There are dozens of guys who would be ahead of him if you fall into that useless category of 'haters'...
  16. Despite the high YPC the RBs had last year, the O-line was not that great in the run game. A high percentage of FJ's yards came from his superior vision and cutting back against the grain, while CJ's relied on his speed (although he got much better using his blockers as the year went on). This is a pass-to-set-up-the-run offense, plain and simple. The arguments for run-first scheme fly only if the five starters can reliably knock defenders off the ball, which has yet to be proven IMO...
  17. I'm just the opposite. I like to get rid of subpar posters as quickly as possible...
  18. Just flush it then...
  19. Thanks for reaffiming my faith in why I should spend time at TSW! These kind of posts, which used to be staples of this place, have become too few and far between. Please come back often...
  20. Yeah. Once upon a time, TSW was full of knowledgeable posters. Sure wish we had a way-back machine...
  21. Got beat by a perfect throw to a Pro Bowl wideout. Bum...
