  2. Thanks for sharing in a unique, new thread.... Shows how irrelevant it's become... http://miami.cbslocal.com/2013/01/21/incognito-heading-to-pro-bowl/
  3. Good post...
  4. Makes me think of one of Marv's favorite sayings: "Get a reputation as an early riser and you can sleep to noon." The Great Kazoo (as well as plenty of other old guard insiders) appear to be "sleeping 'til noon" rather than working contacts, following up leads, etc...
  5. Very obvious that Crabtree ran into Smith at the 2:25 mark of the following video: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-sound-efx/0ap2000000136915/Sound-FX-Ravens-win-Super-Bowl-XLVII
  6. ...a really good view of why the "no call" was the correct one {at the 2:25 mark}...
  7. Shocked! Shocked I am, that the crackpot topnotch journalists at 'GR got us all a twitter on this important personnel move...

  9. You may not think it's "right" but it was a brilliant call by the Ravens coaching staff. They used the rule book, as written today, in a completely appropriate manner. As an aside with regard to the OP, when the no-call on the fourth down was made, my first thought was "...if it had been the Bills in that same goal line stand situation in any of their SBs, how likely would it have been that they'd been flagged...and we'd be talking about how the refs determined the outcome of the game?"
  10. A thousand yard season for a WR is the most devalued stat in football, given how often the ball is in the air in today's game. Of the 22 wideouts with a 1,000-plus yards in 2012, Stevie ranked 19th in "catch rate" (53.4%). A lot of that is on Fitz, but more than a little is on Johnson. http://wp.advancednflstats.com/playerstats.php?pos=WR
  11. Sort of like the OP posting the same thread over and over and over...
  12. And yet, not all that surprising given his mental makeup. He should wake up every day thanking the football gods for the good fortune of being the tallest midget the Bills had at the position when his contract came up for renewal...
  13. The CIA could learn a thing or two from NFL scouts when it comes to spreading misinformation (FUD)...

  15. Drunkenly tried to drive home to Niagara Falls from RIT and got stuck in a farmhouse in Genesee County after the road became impassable (along with about 10 other stranded drivers). Spent the weekend watching Roots (cheering OJ's acting chops) and helping to feed the farmer's goats. Heard afterword that two people a half mile further up the road froze to death in their car when it got stuck in the snow and there were no houses within walking distance. The farmer that took us in that night was a real life saver...
  16. None of which the Bills had. It amazes me how so many 'knowledgeable' posters forget to include this point in their rant about passing on a QB. The Bills had (and have) holes all over the roster. Adding a rookie QB without the supporting cast gets you Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Jimmy Clausen, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart, Jason Campbell, David Carr, Joey Harrington.....
  17. Better to ignore the op.....
  18. He was picked up by Jacksonville in December... http://www.jaguars.com/team/roster/Mark-Asper/d1141519-38de-4ef4-9b73-03b0db646eaf
  19. His "I'm out the door, on the way to the Chargers" draft. The Flowers pick was the classic "need pick" rather than BPA. Although as that first round shows, it was a down year all around... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2000/draft.htm
  20. And I submit, if the Bills had either the 49ers or Seahawks' defense, they would have made the playoffs as well. San Fran and Seattle were very well balanced and the Bills simply were not. Period. Fitz is not good enough, but neither is the surrounding talent, especially on defense. Rookies like Wilson, Kap, or even RGIII would have had less success here than on their respective teams. Throwing a rookie QB from this year's less-than-stellar draft class into the Buffalo situation is a questionable move, IMO, unless Pettine can work some miracles with the sow's ears he has at LB, SS and CB depth....
  21. Mike Brown is cheap...
  22. I also agree with this. IMO, Buddy's plan all along was to build up the complimentary talent (particularly on defense) before drafting a QB. Fitz was the caretaker who could manage games until the structure was in place. As much as Buddy may have liked a guy like Russell Wilson (which, I believe he was on record as saying), throwing him into the Bills situation (ie, subpar defense, limited WRs) wouldn't have allowed for the same success he had in Seattle. Seattle had the 4th ranked defense during the regular season and is still #1 among the playoff teams. That's a major safety net for a rookie QB. Without a once in a generation pick like Andrew Luck or RGIII (pre-surgery), it would be tough to fathom an Andy Dalton-type QB outplaying Fitz in 2011 or 2012, given the team in place around him...
