  1. Warmack's deal will only be about $13 million over four years...not that expensive.
  2. Yeah, that seems way too light...
  3. Along with Kiper, PFW originated the draft guide concept and have been selling one for over 20 years...
  4. Next year HAS to be a better class than this one, so....NO.
  5. I like that list, but waver a bit on Johnson. For all the hype about his athleticism, I worry about about a guy with such limited experience at the position.
  6. The question is--is it the 8th pick or something lower? I just hope some other GMs are as desperate to move up as we are to move down...
  7. No, sadly, we did not. Larry had contacts in every AFL and NFL city and could always offer a national perspective on any Bills-related development, which was very welcome. Plus he had enough knowledge of the game to offer reasoned criticism without throwing people under a bus or playing the 'I'm smarter than [insert GM or coach name] game. As someone mentioned, the Monday Night Quarterback show on WBEN was as good as it got for Bills talk in Buffalo. Rest easy, Larry, and offer up a few good opinions to the fans who've preceded you on your journey...
  8. I had the same thought. Perhaps he's getting bored at Snooze...
  9. They're just emulating the talking heads in the media...
  10. Of course not...but it felt good to say it!
  11. I don't know. Buddy played his Cordy Glenn hand pretty well last year. Maybe an old dog can learn new tricks...
  12. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/mike-freeman/22122564/gm-worst-draft-in-past-10-to-12-years "There are always a variety of opinions about the NFL Draft. Opinions are like, well, you know. But a high-ranking team executive I trust implicitly says this: "Worst draft in past 10 years or longer." "When we look back at this draft in five or 10 years," said the team executive, "we might view it as one of the worst we've seen in some time." "...It does say a lot about this quarterback class when Ryan Nassib could be a top-10 pick. One scout called him Ryan NaLeaf, a totally unfair comparison to the epic bust, Ryan Leaf. Unfair, but kind of funny."
  13. So what do you got against B.J. Queen? http://www.frontierfootball.org/index.php/contact.html
  14. Brad appears to have lost a lot of weight since he retired: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Brad_Butler No mention of where he's working, but this line caught my eye: "While football was a large part of his life, Butler has exhibited a metacognitive desire to engage with urban youth and impoverished community initiatives." That's what a UVA edj-u-macation will make you talk like, I guess...
  15. This is exactly the point of Promo's thread. No question, we need a franchise QB. But elevating any of the questionable prospects in this year's QB class into a top 10 pick is like hoping the sow's ear will turn into gold THIS time, even if it didn't that last hundred. That's a pretty poor bet...
  16. Agreed. No one in this QB crop is worthy of a top 10 pick, IMO. Now Manuel, Nassib or any other QB at #41, that's the ticket. If the guy develops, we're set for the next four years. And if he doesn't, we're probably not in rebuilding mode again in 2016...
  17. Sigh....what happened to fitting the scheme to the talent? Didn't we learn a lesson from Greggo about buying a 'square peg' hammer, rather than a round one...
  18. I'm with you. He seems to be off of Buddy's radar, despite the OBD visit. It's too bad as I think he's got a lot more upside than the 'game managers' in this draft class...
  19. Yeah, it was pretty weak. These Bleacher Report-type 'analyses' are like fingernails on the chalkboard. Two games dissected (one from 2011) and he's got a handle on the guy. Viola!!
  20. You say that like it's a bad thing...
  21. Anyone watching ANY mock draft is wasting their time...whether it's a hack like Walker or a guru like Mayock. There's just no certainty about anything in this draft class, so it's an exercise in futility more than any year I can remember...
  22. Based on what? Your gut feel? The speed with which he assembled a coaching staff suggests he has plenty of connections--not to mention a guy like Pettine signing on when he was a hot commodity league wide.
  23. The problem is, in this draft all 32 teams probably want to trade down. The best value is in rounds 2-3...
  24. Just because the Titans overpaid Levitre doesn't mean its a bad thing to go OG if (1) the player truly is worthy of the #8 selection and (2) you have a chance to win with that guy for 4-5 years. Dealing with a different contract situation four years from now is just that--dealing with a different contract situation. The new CBA has changed the way rookies are being valued/used. We're going to see a lot more young guys in the lineup playing valuable roles early in their careers AND more turnover of veteran FAs when teams decide they can't lock that much of their budget into non-QBs positions. If a guy like Revis can be traded because the Jets value draft picks more than $12 million per year, then no non-QB veteran is a "foundational" player anymore. Taking the best available rookie at a reasonable entry level deal is more valuable than ever...
